Is he someone to go after?

what do we see from him here on out.

I think he could have 8 td's and 900 yards

am I too enthusiastic??

I would have been right there with you but I didn't like what I saw from him last week. Cutler tends to focus on a hot receiver so I think his performances will be up and down during the year. That will make him a tough start for owners who need consistent production from the TE position to win games.

I think Scheffler will finish top 5, and has a chance to finish top 2 (after Witten). I agree with your projections - 900 yards and 8 TDs sounds very doable, as long as Denver's passing offense keeps rolling.

How can you not like Sheff's start - I was worried he may be on the bench after I drafted him - He is not only an every week starter but is one of the key cogs in the top offense in the league so far - top 5 all over him right now - maybe higher

Just traded Grant, Bruce, Royal (TE) for Scheff, Slaton, Welker.... Giving up Grant was pricy, but I think it will panout well, 900 and 8 is very do-able!!!

Unless you have one of the top 4 TEs in the league - why wouldn't you start Sheffler every week? He's as good a bet as any of the other 2nd and 3rd Tier TEs. I'll take my chances on him in a high powered offense.

I think some of the projected numbers are a bit optimistic. I do think he is a solid TE but I would be more hoping for something like 650-700 yards and 5-6 TD. He is off to a hot start.

I'd be shocked if he didn't easily surpass those numbers.I think 800 8 are numbers he should reach with ease.

Very few TE's provide their owners week to week consistency. This season, the only TE I see doing that is Witten - after that, the position as a whole will be volatile week to week. We shouldn't expect weekly consistency from our TE, what we should hope for is a guy who has the ability to blow up every few weeks to to the tune of 100 2 and help lead us to victory - very rarely can we really blame our TE if we lose, but every now and then, it's sure nice to have one who really helps you win.

I think he's this year's version of Dallas Clark.

Good TD numbers, but not enough catches and yards to compete with the big 4.

Must start, yes - he is a top-12 TE.

Elite, definitely NOT.
my first thoughts also
I'm not necessarily disagreeing, but who are the elite TEs then? Any others besides Witten and Gates?
:corrected: It's a complete list of one elite TE in today's FF.
I agree with this. At this point there is only one.
I know this thread is about Scheffler, but I think it's a little premature to say that the guy who's ranked #4 right now and has finished in the Top 2 for the last 4 seasons is suddenly no longer elite.

Are we back to the 1 elite TE days? It seemed the position had balanced out.

Scheff has elite potential, but he's the 2nd (3rd?) target.

Another disappointing game. 1 for 26. I didn't see the game but it looked like Cutler spread the ball around considerably.

Did Scheff miss many snaps last game due to blocking? I noticed Graham had 6 targets, and Stokley it getting a lot of looks as well.

Cause for concern, or good time to buy low?

Dropped Scheffler and picked up Zach Miller on Bye. Miller is likely to get more targets than Scheffler and he seems to have developed a connection with Russell. Hopefully will see more consistent production as a result...but that may be too much to ask from a TE that isn't named Witten.
