Ravens seem to be fading. They need a good draft to put a jolt of energy into that D

10b Cowboys

Ravens It was hard for me to let go of their history. Move Dallas up.

I agree on having the Cowboys in the top 10.

I'd stick the Redskins in the top 10 as well and take Philly out. I like the Falcons as a sleeper too. They added Abraham, and will have Ed Hartwell back to help the run D.

It depends upon the criteria that you are talking about ...

Sacks, Turnovers, TD's scored etc are impact statistics which are largely ignored when strictly looking at yardage and points allowed ...

Also, the thread is not clear on whether we are talking about from an NFL perspective or Fantasy perspective.

To me the Jaguars, Dolphins and Redskins deserve some consideration as well ...

Lets talk fantasy. Redskins, Jags and Dolphins are probably 10c,d,e as they do deserve mentioning.

This list misses Miami, who have a solid D, at least two pro bowlers, and a commitment to the defense.

Add to the fact that the offense is improving (especially at QB), they won't be on the field as much.

Their schedule (and division) is pretty weak as well. Jets twice, Bills twice, Green Bay, Detroit, Chicago, Houston all on the schedule.

I'm a Rams homer and I have them in my dynasty league so you can take my comment with a grain of salt and I'll understand but I'll almost guarantee anyone on this board that the Rams will be in the top 10 in ff defenses this year.

Wow, you are a homer.

They were 16 last year in a horrible year and with the additions and subtractions they've had I'll guarantee you they'll be there. Also I'll take the upgrade from Marme (sp) to Haslett. Not saying Haslett is the the best d-coordinator ever but a huge upgrade.

Interesting points, will keep an eye on them.

Biggest move down from 2005 Seahawks
I'd sure like to hear your reasons for this?
Marquand Manuel left for Green Bay.Andre Dyson is also gone.

Seattle benefitted from a lot of turnovers, which may not necessarily carry over from year to year.
Seattle was the #7 Defense in terms of scoring and have only gotten better in the offseason. They lost a backup Safety and Dyson was hurt for a part of the season. How are those any type of big losses to warrant the biggest drop?

They have added Julian Peterson, Hamlin and Russell Davis and their young LBs, Tatupu and Hill will have more experience.

How in the world does a defense that has improved in the offseason take the biggest move down? LOL. Its ridiculous actually.

Good list, a00511. Here are some numbers from my main $$$ league last year (using standard yahoo defensive scoring):

#5 DEF - Seattle 152 pts

# 15 DEF - Baltimore 124 pts

Not even 2 pts per game difference. I'll be grabbing a defense or two late yet again cause someone will grab the top dawgs (Bears, Panthers) way too early in my drafts.

The Rams D was ranked 27th in our league. I agree they will improve, but top 10 will be a stretch. I would like to see it happen though.

Bengals racked up 18 interceptions against the NFC North - who isn't on the schedule this year.Food for thought.
