I do disagree with one thing here - how do you have Schaub in the top 10, Alex Smith in "honorable" mentions - and Jay Cutler, with the offensive additions the Bears made, not even anywhere in sight. I think you have Peyton too high, or at least should include the same "healthy" paranthetical that you did for Vick (neither of which is a given).

Undervaluing? Where have you been, people are hardly undervaluing him. Overvaluing if anything.

Just in this thread on the previous rankings to my post.

Having a record breaking rookie year should get you some notice.

1. Rodgers

2. Brees

3. Brady

4. Eli

5. Payton

6. Stafford

7. Big Ben

8. Newton

9. Rivers

10. Romo

Honorable mention: Cutler, Ryan, Luck and Alex Smith

Romo could be replaced with Luck if he is half as good he is being hyped to be....also, if Payton is healthy he would leapfrog Eli.

Are these rankings based on (cheap) jersey sales?

Can't tell if this is a fantasy ranking or 'who would you rather have on your team' thread.

Ability

1) Aaron Rodgers

2) Drew Brees

3) Peyton Manning

4) Cam Newton

5) Tom Brady

6) Tony Romo

7) Matthew Stafford

8) Eli Manning

9) Michael Vick

10) Phillip Rivers

Fantasy

1) Aaron Rodgers

2) Drew Brees

3) Cam Newton

4) Tom Brady

5) Matthew Stafford

6) Michael Vick

7) Tony Romo

8) Peyton Manning

9) Eli Manning

10) Phillip Rivers

Let me jump in on this.

1-3 Rodgers, Brees, Brady!

Why them and not Cam or Stafford. Because they have been more consistant and healthy for longer. Cam and Matty may be studs, but I'm gonna wait one more year of doing it again before I put them over anyone who has done it time and time again. To put Cam any higher then the likes of Brady, Brees, and Rodgers means you are taking a lot of risk. Trick to winning these is getting value and minimizing risk. Taking those top 3 are as little risk as possible, although crazy things can happen.

4. Stafford

5. Newton

6. P. Manning

7. Rivers

8. Romo

9. Vick

10. E. Manning.

Real or Fantasy, Redraft or Dynasty... This are my Rankings maybe with a tick here and there depending on the format.

Ability

1. Aaron Rogers

2. Tom Brady

3. Brew Brees

4. Eli Manning

5. Matthew Stafford

6. Ben Roethlisberger

7. Cam Newton

8. Phillip Rivers

9. Jay Cutler

10. Mike Vick

*Peyton has a strong case to be on here but I want to see he's not too far from where he was 1st.

Fantasy

1. Aaron Rogers

2. Matthew Stafford

3. Cam Newton

4. Tom Brady

5. Drew Brees

6. Eli Manning

7. Tony Romo

8. Ben Roethlisberger

9. Mike Vick

10. Jay Cutler

1. Rodgers

2. Brees

3. Brady

4. Ben - Haley makes Pitt's offense more potent

5. Rivers

6. Newton

7. Eli

8. Romo

9. Peyton - not sold on his health

10. Cutler

11. Stafford - he's only stayed healthy for one season, let's see him do it again..I'm not prediciting injury I'm just not sold on him just yet..

I doubt the Lions offense can ,or will be, as prolific as it was in 2011..

12. Luck - Colts will have to throw, Brown gives them the added dimension of a pass-catching RB..it's either him or Schaub for this spot and I don't think Schaub can last a full season without missing a game or two..

At the risk of repeating myself - those not including Cutler somewhere in your top 10 are missing the boat. I'm not saying he should be top 5 or 6 - but he WILL endup in the top 10. Book it, Danno.

I was answering in terms of the best actual player not Fantasy.

Seriously? You might want to read this then.

In FF, one could make the argument (although I still disgree) that the Bears will run a little bit too much for Cutler to squeek into top 10 range - but I think the above article points to why, in terms of actual talent, your point is even less valid.

I agree, Cutler is vastly underrated by the majority of fans. It's really hard to see how good he is in the Chi system I think. From a talent stand point, he is certainly in the top 10. I've got him at 9 but could have tossed a coin between him and Rivers, who is at 8.

Isn't the oline in chicago terrible?
Is it stil 2011?
According to Cutler the offensive line is still a concern.
No doubt. But even in 2011 (when their 1st round RT was out the entire year), and without B.Marshall and A. Jeffrey, Cutler was on pace to throw for about 3700+ and 21 and 11. That would have had him finish in the QB12-14 range. Not to mention that M. Martz has a tendancy to run an offense that gets QBs hit a lot (so the offensive line often looked worse than it may actually be in a "normal" offensive scheme.)Besides, just a few posts ago, I was responding to player ability, not o-line or FF production. But either way, I don't think it's a stretch to presume a 3-5 spot jump in production based on the additions of Marhsall and Jeffrey, a healthy o-line this season and offensive scheme that is more suited to his (and the team's) strengths - as opposed to playing into and maximizing their weaknesses.
