Top 10 WRs down the stretch (1 Viewer)

Since there is a RB thread devoted to the same thing and several threads debating the pros and cons of the top WRs, I'd like to get everything pulled together in one.

IMO the top 5 is easy with the next tier being more of a crapshoot.

Top 5

Moss

TO

Wayne

Edwards

Holt

Then someone can make a case for each of the following

Wes Welker

Hines Ward

Roy Williams

Chad Johnson

TJ Housh

Chris Henry

Fitz

Colston

Plax

Greg Jennings

I personally like Wes Welker, Colston, and Greg Jennings out of this group.

Thoughts?

Fan of Jennings. Might even see another sleeper like guy such as Hackett emerge- though thats more top ten if even that high.

:coffee: I'd say after the five you mentioned....I like both Bengals (very favorable week 14 - 16), Andre Johnson, Colston & Plax. Welker might get enough action to outscore some of these guys, but he might be very inconsistent.

So you think Holt is fully back? He was not a top 5 option before his outburst the last 2 weeks. Is the knee going to hold up?

He very well could be top 5.

Fitz.....look at his schedule:

@Cin, SF, CLE, @SEA, @NO, ATL, (Stl) <----------not even 1 tough matchup

Add in that Boldin may be hurting and I'd say that Fitz is going to be top 5.

I did space on Andre, sorry about that. However there is no way he cracks the top 5. At least not at this time.

Probably is a top 10 guy. Id love to hear someone make a case for him in the top 5. (Other than look was he did in the first two games)

Careful with projecting Housh top 5. Henry's return is going to shake things up in Cincy and even with nice match ups, it's hard to predict which of the 3 WRs is going to get numbers week to week.

No man, Holt is not back. He has no burst, and will put up decent numbers, but his glory days are clearly behind him. He has knee problems, and man did he look slow against Saints. He caught a good amount of balls, but he should have had a long TD, that a year ago was a sure TD, but he did not outrun the guys like he used to. They caught him and made him look old. He will be a good PPR receiver, but top 5, I don't see it

I think making a case for Andre as top 5 from here on out would be rather easy. He is an absolute elite talent with a qb who is now FOCUSED on getting him the ball. He has elite size, speed and hands and has been stuck on a team that has been unable to showcase his talents. He was becoming one of those rare players who could dominate a game in the first two games until he had an unlucky injury. Outside of Moss, TO and Wayne I cant think of a guy I would rather have and he belongs in the discussion with the top 3 considering his team will be in quite a few shootouts down the stretch. Him and Schaub seem to have great chemistry and I just dont see any downside to this guy if he is healthy.

you're crazy, are you really saying no way AJ is top 5. Man, can I get in your league!

look what he did his first two games :lmao: andre has it all and is fully healthy... the other wrs are improved and that should only help andrethe top 5 from here on out has to be different than the top 5 so far.. who better to insert in there than andre? (though I agree holt can sneak up in there)

I seem to be gathering that no one here is concerned about a guy who missed months of action to an injury.

After he shows me that he is fully healthy and there are no lingering problems with the knee, we can talk.

although good posting Wally.

He's on pace for another 1300 yard season with a terrible team... Could rack up a lot of garbage points in blowouts. Maybe he's lost a step. I really haven't seen him play much this year.

I concur, but you're missing Lee Evans. :lmao:

Same here. CJ, Holmes, Jennings, Chris Henry all have been mentioned. Doing something right :lmao:

I agree. I would have a hard time listing him behind any of those guys besides Andre Johnson. Fitzgerald has been amazingly consistent wih receptions and yardage. The touchdowns should start coming.

Interesting that almost everyone has both Moss and Welker in their top 10. Would anyone risk starting BOTH in each game from here on out (if you had them both)?

I wouldn't see a problem with it. There was an article on either this site or on pro football reference that said starting 2 wrs from the same teams is more consistent from week to week in terms of scoring

I would in a heart beat. I'd start Moss/Welker/Stallworth each week if I owned them all.

Anybody lined up against Jason David.

I wish I was joking but I'm not. I honestly believe that a significant number of posters here could catch at least 4 or 5 passes against his sorry butt.

I'm not so sure about the fully healthy part. There is something about his injury we don't know. He's been out since week 3.
