I saw this title in the SP and thought it would be a good idea for the IDP'ers.

I am 100% sure I left off someone that SHOULD be on here. Feel free to critique. :banned:

I was looking for Huff and Whitner at first glance.

Umenyiora isn't 25 yet. Same for Gibril...

Chris Gamble is 23. Not sure I'd seek a corner for the top 25, but he's solid as can be. Thomas Davis also just 23. He probably belongs in the top 10.

Tommie Harris is 23. I think he squeeks into my top 25, but I have to keep checking dates.

I like Robert Gaethers future much more than most. He's 23. What to do with Odell Thurman?

I love Kamerion Wimbley as a player, but not sure where he fits in from a fantasy standpoint. A decade+ ago would Willie McGinest merit top 25 consideration? I don't think so. If so, give me DeMarcus Ware first. And let's consider Manny Lawson. Kiwanuka may have more value than the 3-4 OLBs.

DJ and Darrent Williams (especially DJ) have productive fantasy futures.

I like Dunta Robinson as much as DeAngelo Hall. Not sure if either deserve top 25 consideration.

Daryl Smith is only 24.

I think I prefer Jarrad Page and/or Bernard Pollard, both 22, to 23 year old Roman Harper. Page especially.

Jason Allen is a slow learner, and that is all that's holding him back right now. He'll learn the defense and be a great football player as long as he stays healthy. A taller, faster Bob Sanders, with better ball skills.

Trent Cole is 24.

eta checking birthdates...

eta 2 done and thanks...

That was a fun tour of depth charts for youth. I'm just throwing names against the wall with this post. Maybe I'll get around to trying to rank them.

Where would you plug these guys in, and who would you take out? Huff > Edwards? Now that you mention it I think so. As far as Whitner goes, I personly would take all these guys over him. Not saying he is not good, just that I happen to like 1-25 a little better.

I finished editing my first post. I'll think about rankings when I get a chance. I think this is a good job for Mr. Bloom.

Thomas Davis also just 23. He probably belongs in the top 10. Kiwanuka may have more value than the 3-4 OLBs.
These two are guys i wanted to put in there too. Davis, im just not sure about his position yet. He has been coonsistant soo far but not spectacular.

I personally would be Tamba Hali above Edwards. Probably Mark Anderson too, but it's debateable. (Anderson benefits from a much better interior)

NFL.com has Osi born: 11/16/1980, he's in the top 10, maybe not above Suggs, but close.

Tommie Harris, especially if DT is required.

So he turns 26 in November and doesn't qualify. I wonder if my site had Gibril wrong too? Agree with Harris, slip him in no matter what, and move him up if DT required.

Slight hijack...

What's the best way to find player birthdates? NFL.com has the info, but it's clunky since you have to check 32 links to get all the dates. I'm hoping to find a spot where all players in the NFL are listed with their birthdates on one page.

Back on topic...

I'm not sure of ages, but some names:

Bob Sanders

Robert Mathis

Will Smith

Karlos Dansby

Leroy Hill

Troy Polamalu

Nick Collins

Josh Bullocks

I like ourlads:

http://www.ourlads.com/secure/index.cfm

just click on a player and you get everything!
You can do that at NFL.com also... but I don't want to click 1000 times to find out everyone's age... I'm hoping to find a single listing of players and birthdates - something I can pull into a spreadsheet and sort to suit my needs. Couch Potato made one for offensive players, but I haven't seen IDPs. It just seems like something that should exist out there somewhere.

Try PMing Bruce Henderson or Memphis. FBGs has that info too & maybe there's way they can pull the DOBs into a single file.

Updated to show some respect to M.Anderson. :D

Also added a running list of guys to talk about adding and who they can replace.

10. Mark Anderson, DE, Chi. (23) ++++++14. Jared Allen, DE, K.C. (24)18. Tommie Harris, DT, Chi.22. Mario Williams, DE, Hou. (21)
 I like the guy's motor, but he should not be above Allen, Harris or Mario. (IMO, he's below Hali, but I'll save that argument for other times)

Allen = DUI and season suspension waiting to happenSeriously, this I can see and understand. I "might" have over reacted with Anderson's performance this week. :D It will be hard to rate Harris(DT) over a solid DE. If DT is mandatory than we can talk. ;)Williams will need to show more. I like him but why rank him higher than a guy from the same class that is outperforming him in a bad way.Last week I had Anderson at 16. So the only guy I bumped him over was Allen.
