Really?

With kids I guess, right?
I have been to Rome and Positano on the Amalfi coast. And as much as I loved it, my trips to Disney with my kids crush it.

Edited to add I am forty and retired, don't drink much, and spend every summer on the beach.
That's why I asked if you meant with kids and not just you and the wife. We (wife and I) went once to Disney and it was ok, but I doubt we'll ever go back. We're heading to Italy for the 5th time in June and can't imagine picking Disney over it.

Cabo - multiple times. Love it down there and want to spend good chunks (months) of my time in retirement in Baja. Big goal this year is to get more fluent in Spanish
How is the water temp there?

Since I convinced my wife to move somewhere with cold winters, every April now I try to take her on a nice warm, usually water focused trip. With a 1.5 year old now it's harder to swing flying all the way back to Florida or the Caribbean so I was thinking about Cabo this coming year. Water has to be warm enough to swim in fairly comfortably though. Nothing drives my wife crazier than beautiful beaches that are too cold to actually enjoy.

ETA: It looks like you have had some pretty awesome travels in your life.

I've also been to all 3 and, although I enjoy it a lot, wouldn't even put Disney in the same stratosphere. Maybe that will change when my kid gets old enough to appreciate it and I see how excited he is, but as solo/couples/group travelers it just doesn't even compare for me.

Water is warm. But if you want beautiful, swimmable beaches do the Caribbean or Hawaii. Most of the beaches in Cabo aren't even swimmable. Pacific side is too rough. You can swim in Medano beach but it's not the the turquoise, crystal clear waters you get in the other two. But I love the vibe. I love the people. I love the great restaurant finds. I know the town well and am comfortable navigating it. Just had tremendous experiences there, and if you are looking to celebrate a special event w/ the boys it's tough to beat. It's got everything. Great fishing. Nightlife. Golf. Restaurants. Just a fun freakin' place..

Surprised at the Turks and Caicos love. Its been more than 10 years for us, but went twice and thought it was meh. Grace is really nice beach, but food, service and culture all poor compared to other islands. My 2c.

Nice beach but no reason to leave the hotel. Not a fun island to explore. And the airport leaving was a nightmare.

We always stay on the monorail which is key.

Yeah, we don't drink or swing, so I get bored with the group travel pretty quick.

I went to DisneyWorld once with the kid... pretty much epitomized "group travel" IMO, so- not a fan at all.

but that's opposite of what you've written- so what am I missing?

Heading to Punta Cana in 2 weeks. Never been. Planning a trip of 5 days in London, 3 days in Amsterdam, 7 days in Barcelona this summer.

I don't know if I could rank a top 7 so I'll just add experiences and narrative:

So far:

Florence (my favorite)

Paris (loved)

Rome (liked, not as much as first two, but a must from a historical perspective. Probably won't go back though)

Venice (liked least of the trip)

Scotland - ultimate golf trip with my buddies. Old Course 2X, Carnoustie, Kingsbarnes, etc. That was a bucket list item.

Hawaii - been to Big Island 5X, my favorite. Kaui 2nd, Maui 3rd, and really would only go to Oahu again if going to the North side. Can't stand Honolulu

Cabo - multiple times. Love it down there and want to spend good chunks (months) of my time in retirement in Baja. Big goal this year is to get more fluent in Spanish

Zihuatenejo - liked, early Club Med trip with kids

St. Maarten for a week. Enjoyed - great beaches

Bahamas - Company trip to Sandals. Fun to party

Bermuda - Another company trip - enjoyed the British feel, different

7 day Southern Caribbean cruise - San Juan, St. Thomas, St. John, St. Lucia, Antigua, Barbados. Liked (especially St. John) but I'm not a big cruise fan (except want to do Alaskan cruise)

Vancouver - been to other cities in Canada, but I absolutely fell in love with Vancouver. Tremendous city.

New York - I think a well planned week there is one of the best vacations one can take anywhere in the world

San Francisco - great, great, city. Multiple times

New Orleans - probably my favorite city in the country - 15+ times by now. Las Vegas is a 45 minute flight from me, and I would go to New Orleans over Vegas every day of the week.

Chicago - fun place to visit in the right months

Washington D.C. - it's a must at least once

Southern Cal - I live here, but don't take Malibu, Santa Monica, San Diego, Santa Barbara, Palm Springs, etc for granted. Neither do the Europeans flocking to visit here.

Believe it or not - my favorite family vacation was to a dude ranch on the Wyoming/Colorado border. My kids LOVED it and still talk about it 15 years later.

Been to I think 48 states, and there are lots of beautiful areas worth experiencing. The U.P. in MI comes to mind. Gorgeous.

I really want to get to Australia/New Zealand some day. Lots of exotic beach locales I've never been to, including Turks and Caicos, Bora Bora, Fiji, etc. I have so much of Europe I've yet to see and want to now that I've got a taste. Want to do Amafli Coast in Italy. Ireland is way up there (St. Patrick's Day b-day after all). South America would probably come next in desires, and for some reason Asia I'm really OK waiting on and keeping it last. Will do an RV tour when retired and can really take my time to see more National Parks. Hoping to stay fit and be blessed with health to keep traveling and have experiences. Life is short.
You need to get out a little more...

Turks and Caicos is devoid of culture compared to other islands.. that I'll agree with.

And while I didn't enjoy exploring the island as much as I have other islands, I found it very interesting to locate Taylor Bay and Sapodilla Bay, which were beautiful

The snokelling was fantastic.. Grace Bay is just so smooth and swimmable when the water is warm.. it's a great place for water activities.

An especially great place if you had smaller children who wanted to get in the water and not be blasted by the tide.

I really enjoyed that island for what it was.

all true.

also true of pretty much every other island nation in the caribbean, a lot of which have more culture, geography, food, etc. ... but there could certainly be a lot worse choices out there than T&C... like Bakersfield.

By no means is it a bad option. We stayed at Gansevoort and went off property once and decided to just stay at the resort after that. Great hotel!

What islands did you like better than T&C?

Barbados was fantastic, had a lot more culture.. hated how long it took to get there... definitely cooler to explore..... beach wasn't nearly as good.

Grand Cayman was beautiful... had just a little more culture than T&C.. not as far to get there.. beach was better than Barbados but worse than T&C. Exploring there was average.

I would put St. Maarten, Cayman Islands, Aruba and St.Thomas/St.John ahead of T&C. The Four Seasons in Nevis is amazing but the beach sucks and not much to see off resort. Freeport, Nassau and Jamaica at the bottom of the list.

Does Bermuda count? That would go in the top pack too.

Again- I like T&C fine, especially for easy access via direct flight.. one of the nicer beaches out there. But here are places I've been to that I like better (pretty much in order).

Anguilla

St Barths

Mustique

Tobago Cays/ Mayreau/ Union

Antigua/Barbuda

St Lucia

Barbados

St Maarten

BVI

St Vincent

Bequia

I've never been to T&T, Dominica, Martinique,
