Mattel Talking Football

**** Enberg with the commentary. The only one I can remember, 35 or so years later is

"Prevent defense, 3 man rush. Pass up the middle for 10. Uh-oh, penalty!"

I loved that game.
This was the one with the little record disks, right? The offensive guy would put his play choice into the machine and then the defense would rotate the record to pick the defense they would run. Then push play to get the results? My brother and i played that game a lot.
Yep, thats the one... fun times

Why doesn't Simon or whoever made Simon make the old version anymore? All they have is some crappy version which is split up into a bunch of separate pieces and must require 42 batteries.

I looked on ebay and the old ones are redonkulously expensive.

/Rant.

Big Trak

 An updated digital-era remake is expected for 2012.[6] Baptized as bigtrak XTR (from eXra Technology Rover), it is designed to be synced with dedicated iPhone, iPad and Android control apps. It will also carry two accessory ports, for a wireless camera and a combat weapon, such as a missile launcher or an infrared gun.

My brother had a car that was programmable like Big Trak but it didn't have the laser sound and light.

Try finding one of the Simon Tricksters. It was a newer version of the game that had the classic modes and some new ones. It'll likely be cheaper to come by if the original or re-releases are marked up that much.

I had an early-80's era version of Bas Ket that I used to play the #### out of. It was put out somewhere between 1980 and 1984 because the Mavericks were in it, along with the San Diego Clippers and the Kansas City Kings.

Mattel Issues a Recall For Toy Space MissilesATLANTA, Jan. 11, 1979 (UPI) -- A recall order, prompted by the death of one child and injuries to 10 others, was issued today for the tiny toy missiles that go with Battlestar Galactica space toys of the Mattel Corporation. Two million of the toys were sold nationwide.

A 4-year old boy from Lilburn, Ga., died Dec. 31 after swallowing one of the projectiles, designed for firing from the space toys.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission and the Mattel Corporation of California issued the "missile mail-in" recall order and said it would run until March 1. Mattel is offering another toy as an inducement to have the missiles returned.

The 11/4 inch red plastic missiles were made to fit several of the space toys in the Galactica group, but a mission spokesman said in Washington that the death and injuries appeared associated with only the Colonial Viper toy. The spokesman said the barrel shape of the toy seemed to invite children to put it in their mouths.

The viper caused the death

Boba Fett recall was due to concerns that it could cause harm after the BSG Viper did.

I love this thread.

I have all my original Star Wars toys (Ships. AT-AT Walker and play sets), and figures is pretty pristine condition (and no doubt could fetch a pretty penny on EBAY). All out of the box of course. I let my son play with them for a few years then put them back into storage after he grew out of Star Wars toys which was pretty quick to be frank...kids today shelve toys much quicker these days with the incredible advancement of video games) My kid is just more into playing outside and playing a lot of sports than playing with toys...which is cool I was the same way. by age 10 I was done with Star Wars Toys and toys in general.

But I love watching these old commercials of "our" toys. Great memories. That Castle Grey Skull one is classic.

So this toy was an airplane with paratroopers. The ground was a big disc and you looked through a lense to make it look like you are viewing from the bomber. The object was to drop the paratroopers in to holes.

any idea?
