Trade Advice (2 Viewers)

Carl Crawford

for

Carpenter, Bruce, Prado

I'm not sure what to do with Crawford. Obviously it is still early, but I am second to last in homeruns and only 4 RBI up on last place in RBI.

Get: Shin-Soo Choo and Madison Bumgarner

Give: Bobby Abreu and Edwin Jackson

Not sure what to think about this. Choo would give me some much needed speed and boost my OF. Bumgarner has sucked thus far, but think he would turn it around.

My team (12 team, h2h)

C: Geovany Soto

1B: Miguel Cabrera

2B: Brandon Phillips

SS: Derek Jeter

3B: Pablo Sandoval

UTL: Mark Teixeira, Justin Morneau

OF: Matt Holliday, Curtis Granderson, Bobby Abreu

Bench: Jed Lowrie

SP: Ubaldo Jimenez, Edwin Jackson, Chad Billingsley, Trevor Cahill, Matt Garza, Aaron Harang, Jarr Jurrjens, James Shields

RP: Mariano Rivera, Joel Hanrahan, Kevin Gregg, Sean Burnett

Yeah thats such BS. I also think the trade is lopsided in your favor but if no collusion is involved then it is obviously should not be vetoed.
Thanks for responding. There are now three guys who want me to veto the trade. Of course, there has now been some fighting on the board. The whole thing is out of control.

I get Drew Stubbs, Dez Bryant

I give Ryan Braun

My OFs are Bobby Abreu, Andre Eithier, Jonny Gomes, Curtis Granderson, and Ryan Braun

Do I accept it?? This is a multi sport league

Dynasty H2H Points League - relatively standard scoring

Offered Dan Uggla for Neftali Feliz

2nd base is my weak spot - I've got Espinosa, Lowrie, Herrera, and Ackley

I'm pretty deep with closers:

Hanrahan

Feliz

Contreras

Marmol

Storen

Thorton

What's the rest of your team? I like it in dynasty leagues. Not in redrafts. It really depends who your alternatives are.

I really have a poor sense of these multi sport leagues but I'd say take it.

Take it. I'm not convinced they'll actually get around to moving Feliz into the rotation and closers are mostly overrated.

Hello my compadre. I think that is a splendid deal for you and I think you should take it. I hope you agree with me.

Hey, nice attitude adjustment
guess you didnt accept my apology earlier in this thread :kicksrock:

Apology accepted. Now back to business.

Was offered Jerry Sands for Drew Storen in Dynasty. My closers:

Storen

Burnett

H Bell

K-Rod

Nathan - had he not lost his job I would probably jump own this. Does Gardy allow Nathan a shot to take his job back? I think he has to, no?

My outfielders:

Braun

Tabata

Rios

Cuddyer

Boesch - is he for real? I'm beginning to think so.

Rajai Davis

Garret Jones

Gutierrez

I like Sands' potential but I also think he has a high bust potential. If I knew that Nathan would get a shot or if he didn't lose his job I think I would have to roll the dice. If I make the trade worst case scenario is I lose 3-4 points in the saves categories. I have no prospects anymore. I've traded or they've been called up.

Thoughts?

I'm not crazy about Sands but think you can afford to take that gamble. I'm pretty sure Nathan will get another chance if he keeps looking like he did in his last outing.

Al only, h2h points keeper... Buchholz for Crawford a fair deal? Not enough?

I have Weaver, Gio, Hellickson, Buch, Shields, Floyd, Morrow, Masterson at SP (start 4)

Baustisa, Cruz, Markakis, Quinton starting in the OF. Not happy with Kake, and I feel like I have plenty of SP depth.

Do I even want Crawford?

Whoa. Now I'd think it over. Details of the league again? Keeper, alternative players, etc?
12 team, 5x5 rotoMy pitching is good (Felix, Cain, Oswalt, and others). My OF is (start 3)Logan Morrison (DL)Corey Hart (DL)CrawfordNelson CruzSam FuldSeth SmithIf I took the deal, I would have to dump 3 players. That means Mark Reynolds, Seth Smith, and probably Arencibia (only have him cause V Mart is on the DL).Does Prado even offer much besides a good BA? I guess he will score 100 runs and have a 300 average though.

Absolutely. And I'm not very high on Crawford. You only start 4 SP and you have (by my count) 6, maybe 7, SP that are better than Buccholz. You could afford to ship out Buccholz for a hell of alot less than Crawford.

What's your SB situation like? Is it a keeper league? This is a close call. If you can still finish in the top half of the league in steals without Crawford, I'd probably do it. If it's a keeper league, I think it makes it better too. This might be the last time that Jay Bruce can be had as part of a multi-player deal (where he's not the "one"). I think he's very legit.I like Prado alot. He's not exciting, but there's some pop to along with the runs and AVG.

Anyone else thinking about selling high on Gordon and/or Pineda? Just offered them both up for Choo in a keeper league (we can only keep 5 so I dont think Id be able to keep Pineda anyway). Classic buy low/sell high

Thanks for the replies Dr and Pollard. The offer was out there and the other guy thought about it but wound up turning it down. I'll probably have to include another player or draft pick. Trying to get 'er done.

Good deal for you if you can get it. And moops I'd take the deal.

Would you trade Aaron Harang and Edwin Jackson for Wandy Rodriguez and David Aardsma?

Not entirely sure I want to offer that because I'm not certain Aardsma will regain the closer job, and Harang has been infuego for me.

Trade Advice needed from you sharks:

12 team league, keep 5 (3 offense, 2 pitchers or visa versa).

Starting Positions: C,1B,2B,SS,3B,IF,OF X3, Util X2 and 3SP, 2RP, 3Ps

Counting Stats: R,2B,HR,RBI,SB,BB,AVG - W,L,SV,K,ERA,WHIP,K/BB

Trade offer:

A Pujols, D Beckham, R Madson, M Reynolds (give)

FOR

F Hernandez, J Heyward, D Uggla, F Freeman (receive)

I would be losing the best player in the game but adding the best pitcher in the game. Upgrading at 2B and OF, although I already have a decent OF (see my team below). League is full of old college friends and we are in year 7, I have been winning with an offensive game plan, but would not mind becoming a bit more balanced. Would you rather keep Pujols, Tulo, Wright, Greinke, Hanson or Tulo, Wright, Beltre/Cruz/Heyward, Felix, Hanson/Greinke? TIA!

My team (last years keepers in bold):

C: Miguel Montero

1B: Albert Pujols

2B: Gordon Beckham

3B: David Wright

SS: Troy Tulowitzki

IF: Adrian Beltre

OF: Nelson Cruz

OF: Colby Rasmus

OF: Jonny Gomes

Util: Chipper Jones

Util: Mark Reynolds

BN: Jason Kunel

BN: Delmon Young

BN: Jeff Francouer

SP: Zack Greinke [DL]

SP: Tommy Hanson

SP: Clay Bucholz

RP: John Axford

RP: Matt Capps

P: Jonny Venters

DL: Stephen Strasburg

Bump

Tough call. Nothing wrong with making the trade, but it'll make you weak in saves for a long time, I think. It looks like Storen could runaway with the Nats job and I wouldn't be surprised to see Capps closing for the Twins for a long time. If you really like Sands, though, go for it. For dynasty purposes, it's a good trade.

Now that's a trade.I actually do like the idea of trading Pujols now in a keeper. Being a shallow keeper makes that more difficult, but I like the idea.

Nobody ever has the balls to trade away their stars when they are still at near-peak value, but it makes a ton of sense. Pujols will be 32 next year, so I think it does make sense to start planning an exit strategy.

Also love the idea of landing Heyward now. It will and should have to hurt to land him in a keeper.

Normally, I'm not a huge fan of building around elite pitching, but in a league set-up that requires you to keep 2, you're building around pitching whether you want to or not, so I guess it makes sense to have a stud there. I don't trust pitchers, but there probably isn't a better SP keeper than Felix.

As much as I like it, this would be one ballsy, risky move.

By doing this, you need Heyward to absolutely become everything we think he could become (this year) and you need Felix to thrive with whatever situation he lands in next (which is sure to be much more pressure and a worse pitcher's park).

The good news is that it's only a 5 player keeper and Pujols is getting older. Even if it blows up in your face, it certainly won't destroy you. You've got some great keeper options either way and will have plenty of good players to draft each year.

The upside, of course, is that you could have 2 top 5 picks for the next 10 years (Tulo/Heyward) and Felix.

I can't say if I'd do it or not, but I don't think you'd be crazy to.

what kind of return(bat) should I expect from trading away Cliffy Lee?
That could be a wide range, I think. I wouldn't be surprised to see him go for a struggling/injured late 1st round type bat (A-Gonz, CarGo, Hanley, Longo) all the way down to a top 50 type player (something in the Konerko, Heyward, Kinsler, CBY range). Outside of Pujols/Tulo/Miggy/Votto/Braun owners, I don't think you'd offend anyone with an offer for their best hitter. People view SP so differently, it's right to shoot for the stars, I think.

You're pitching staff might could use an upgrade, but I wouldn't consider trading Tulo for any pitcher by himself. If it were me (using your team), the bidding would start with Lincy plus a really solid OF (or maybe a stud C).

Have a semi-offer of Weaver/Jeter but I'm still hesitant. I was also thinking maybe SP+Closer. also not exactly sure I'm ready to deal Tulo.

Not enough. And I don't think I would trade a top 5 player for a player who contributes to only one catagory (i.e. closer).

Don't forget about David Wright...I was thinking if I did the deal that I would keep:

Tulo, Wright, Heyward (with Cruz and Beltre as backups in case Heyward falters)

Felix, and then try to package Grienkie and Hanson for the #2 SP... question is who is the #2 SP, Kershaw?

12 team 5x5 Roto, start 3 RPs and 5 SPs, 3 bench spots (curretnly occupied by Jackson, Gregg and Santos)

Starters:

Cain

Scherzer

Shields

D Hudson

Holland

E Jackson

D Braden (DL)

Relievers:

Marmol

Kimbrel

Walden

Gregg

Santos

If Santos sticks I've got 5 closers, with other owners looking for help. I'd like to upgrade one of my starter positions. What kind of a pitcher should I target with a Jackson/Walden package? Here are some guys rostered on teams looking for saves that I think might be reasonable to ask for:

J Sanchez

Danks

Latos

Morrow

Garza

Are these guys in the ballpark of what I should be asking for?

The only way I move Tulo is if someone gives me way, way, WAY more than they should. There are some players that come at a premium. Tulo is one of them.

I told the Tulo owner in my league to name his price. I'd give him Rollins/Weaver/Street/Russell Martin without thinking (his #1 catcher is Ianetta...in a 2 catcher league). He still turned it down.

I was offered Jonny Gomes for Rajai Davis. Rajai is the guy who I was counting on for steals (the guys currently leading my team in that category are Herrera, D.Murphy, and Francoeur). Only guys on my team with more than 2HRs are Soriano and Francoeur (with Longoria and Hamilton on the DL). In other words, my team can use help in basically every category. I was planning on benching Austin Jackson when Davis got off the DL, but Gomes can work there too. Should I make that trade? TIA.
