Trade Help (1 Viewer)

I’m in a 8-team PPR league with four teams making the playoffs weeks 15-16. I have RB’s Elliot (Dal), Taylor (Ind), Jacobs (LV), Ekeler (LAC), Da. Johnson (Hou), WR’s Lockett (Sea), Golladay (Det), Brown (Ten), Chark (Jax). I’m thinking about trading Taylor or Jacobs for McCaffrey (hurt, but has good playoff match ups) or trading for a top-10 WR (Godwin maybe).  Or do I keep what I have?  I’m not new to fantasy football, but new to trading. Got any advice for me? Thanks!!!

I think you keep what you have, it is a long season, Jacobs and Taylor should be top 10/5 plays at the position(so I wouldn't trade them for hurt McCaffrey). Maybe ask if he would deal for DJ? I suspect it will get shot down rather quickly but you never know? and then you can always ask if Ekeler can get it done(which is a stronger offer).

I typically do this in trades, I give the person a lower ball and then have the actual person I'm willing to trade as the escalation trade up player. It gives the person I'm trading with satisfaction in knowing they negotiated up for a guy and sometimes closes a deal since if they ask for them and I then say yes it kinda makes them then asking for the trade?

I think your WRs are ok too as is, and you can always play the news of McCaffrey's rehab to ask again later in season if it is positive or negative and let the owner deal with the injury in the meantime.

When Ekeler is your RB4 you know your team is stacked.  How many RBs can you start each week?  If it's 3 or less, then I have no issue trading for a stud receiver.  If you've got all those RBs then there's gotta be somebody who is hurting at the position.  I'd go to the CMC or Barkley owner and dangle Ekeler out for their best WR and see if you can get a conversation started.

It's an 8 team league so everyone has stacked lineups (this is not a knock on an 8 team league just a value set because it's a small team league).

Exactly what I would do in this situation as well.
