Trade Hopkins for D.Johnson (1 Viewer)

Footballguy
3 player keeper league.

I have these to choose from

Hopkins, Green, Thielen, Ingram

1/2 point PR

I have been offered David Johnson for Hopkins but I am a Houston homer so having a hard time pulling the trigger.

I have pick 1.07 so i probably wont be getting rookie RB in draft so i would be looking at players like, Miller, Lynch, Ajai, or RB's in Detroit, Cleveland, Miami etc

I can run a 1RB/4WR which is what i did last year with Ingram but thinking i should get a real RB1 this year.

I would lean towards accepting this trade.  I think it is pretty well established that it is harder to find a "bell cow" RB than a top flight WR.  Plus, I am a little concerned at this stage as to how quickly to form Watson will be at the beginning of the season, even though he should be on the field.  What are you looking at for available WRs at 1.07?  I would think there is more depth there.

Based on what you have to keep I would do the trade for sure.  You will be fine with Green & Thielen to start your WR corps and getting DJ as your locked in RB1 to start is nice.  Easy choice for me (but I don't have the Houston hometown bias...hahaha).

I am in the opposite boat from the above. I would keep hopkins. too many unknowns for me in arizona. new fragile qb, with a unproven rookie behind him. ingram is the easy cut for me. that suspension really hurts his value. Not sure you will get anything for him, but I would attempt to trade ingram for whatever you can and stick with the proven wrs.

In a keep-3, I don't think Ingram should be kept by anyone.

ETA: I make the trade.

The correct answer is to offer him Green and Thielen for DJ
I would not do this at all.  Based on the information he has listed, who would be the 3rd keeper?  Ingram???  I would not keep him.

Being a Houston fan, I can understand not letting Hopkins go... can you shop Green and Thielen for a back???  That would be what I would pursue first.  See what back you can get for one of these.

Who cares who the 3rd keeper is when you are putting Hopkins and DJ on the field together?  Ingram is fine and there are a dozen guys you'll get in the later rounds that, when paired with DJ, will outscore what Green and Thielen will.  If you can do a 2-for-1 and get DJ you do it, every time.

No I would not do it every time.  The value is not even close and I would take Green / Thielen combo every time at the current value.  I don't keep players that get suspended and as Ingram is getting up in years, Kamara will take more of the load and slowly push Ingram out.

If I could counter Thielen and Ingram (and maybe a later draft choice) for DJ, or Green and Ingram for DJ and a mid-round draft choice, that would be my preference.

If not, I would accept the offer.

With only .5 ppr I would go for the trade. I love Hopkins but David Johnson is the play and keep Green and Thielen. With Ingrams suspension he isn't worth keeping over those guys and I just dont see much trade value with him..

Then you're crazy.  If you don't wanna keep Ingram keep just about anyone else.  Hopkins and any JAG WR3 will outscore AJG and Thielen.  If you get lucky with your JAG WR3 and get the next Thielen?  That is how you build dynasties - you consolidate every chance to get and keep farming for the next diamond in the rough with the open roster spots.

Hmmm... 16 years in dynasty league (17th this year), playoffs every year, won 6 titles, cashed in 13 of 16...  Guess I am doing something RIGHT!!  Don't push your ideas on people.  I gave my opinion.  I don't agree with yours... so get over it.
