Traded pair of 2020 2nds for Deion Jones (1 Viewer)

How'd I do?  Traded a pair of 2020 2nd round rookie picks in my 10 team dynasty league for Deion Jones.  One from a generally good team, one from a generally bad one.  Can now pair Jones up with Bobby Wagner as my two every week starting LBs (have Devin White on my practice squad as well).  Pretty standard IDP scoring.

Thinking was that generally the top LB goes around the middle of the 2nd round in a rookie draft, and sometimes they work out (Edmunds and Roquan last year) and sometimes they don't (Reuben Foster and J Davis the year before).  I'm giving up a pair of them, a year before they can be used, to land a no question top 5 dynasty LB now.

Jones is top five at LB when healthy, and he’s young.  I can see it.

Only issues would be:

1) whether Jones is fully healthy yet, and if he can hold up long term, or if he’s going to be Kuechly-like in being off the field too often.

2) if this year’s draft class lives up to lofty predictions the high 2nd could be more like a first.

That said, if I had a strong contender and thought LB2 was my weak spot, I’d easily make that deal.  Your reasoning seems sound.

I do not value draft picks as high as most dynasty owners.  I would rather use those picks to acquire known talent and you did just that.  I think it was a good trade for you.

How many LB do you start? If it is no more than 2 I would probably have rather had the picks since you have White on your practice squad but as you pointed out having a proven top notch guy over 2 chances at getting a stud LB really isn't a bad thing.

Start 2 each week.  10 team league.  My thought was with Wagner on the roster (though not getting any younger), and now D Jones - I'm set at LB for this year for sure.  White on my PS gives me depth (though doesn't take up a roster spot, as PS spots are separate).  If needed, he can fill in for either this year, and potentially fills in for Wagner as he declines.  Takes up 2 roster spots of 31 max active roster, 3 should I "call up" White.

Had Jarrad Davis as my other LB, who's now hurt, with Trevathan as depth - who's now expendable.
