Trading Antonio Brown (1 Viewer)

I'm in a 12-team .5 PPR keeper auction league, with a $200 cap, and a roster size of 16-20 players.  We start QB/2RB/3WR/TE/K/D.

We can keep up to 10 players, which we declare after the Super Bowl, at which point we can trade, and the player value goes up $5 each year.  After the NFL draft and Hunter Henry's injury, the team I will take into the league draft in August now looks like this (with 2018 values in parentheses):

QB - Luck ($8)/RB - Cook ($22), Freeman ($22)/WR - Brown ($36), Diggs ($16), Funchess ($11), Meredith ($6)/TE - Olsen ($8)

That's $129 for 8 players, and even if I cut Meredith and maybe Luck, depending on the news prior to August, I've got a fair bit of draft capital tied up.  This led me to wonder if I should explore any trade options for Antonio Brown.  I love Brown as a fantasy WR, but I'm beginning to wonder at what point I am going to be looking to trade him for something.  $36 this year is okay, and $41 next year is probably fine as well, if he keeps his production up.  After that?  Unlikely, at least for me...

So, is this year the time, and if so, is this enough of a haul to unload him?  Would you do this trade - Brown for Jordan Howard ($12), Allen Robinson ($11) and Marvin Jones ($10)?  Not often you can trade 1 starter for 3 and get a little $$ back.  Assuming the other owner says yes, of course...

Appreciate anyone's take on the matter, happy to return the favor!!

That trade is ok but I wouldn't do it. What are Hopkins, ODB and Julios value? I could see making a move for them if you can get some value back.

That offer is ok but I would want to be getting a stud in return.  All of those guys have questions one way or another and you could be left with three underperforming guys very easily for the most consistent stud in the league.  I would want something more stable in return.

Hopkins is $33 (so no real benefit there), and Jones is $60+ (and possibly coming back into the draft pool).  ODB is $24, and I suppose a possibility.  May have to think on that one...

What about (again, haven't floated it to the owner yet, just thinking about it) Brown for Michael Thomas ($20), Evan Engram ($7), and Chris Thompson ($7)?

ODB and $12 in change is worth pursuing. I wouldn't look at anyone beneath his level.

In a salary cap league I think you are aiming for the stars, which is fine, but odds are it won't work and most of the replies are doing the same thing. There is no way a team is giving you OBJ for Brown in a salary cap keeper league when OBJ is 2/3rds the price and much younger. You would probably have to add some one that is pretty good and cheap to get that to work. The same can be said with your Michael Thomas offer, depending on my team I am not trading Thomas straight up for Brown unless I have a ton of cap space and a win now team.
