This pre-draft trade went down in a 12 team redraft. It must have been last minute because nobody started #####ing until the draft started. Team A trades the 1st overall pick, plus pick 8.12 to Team B for pick 2.8 and 6.8. Team B ends up with the 1st and 5th overall picks, while Team A is completely out of first round.
I'm completely baffled by this trade. Why it was offered and why it was allowed. The pick value calculator has a "don't make the trade" and it's not even close. IMO, the guy who offered the trade was an idiot, but I'm more baffled as to why it was allowed. Shouldn't consideration be made to the other teams who are drafting? How do you "catch up" to the person who has the 1st and 5th overall picks. Anyway, I'm really curious to hear what you guys think...even if you want to tell me I'm an idiot for questioning it.
