Free agent Travis Henry has reportedly failed another drug test for marijuana.

This will wrap up his career. "He is coming up for a year suspension," a source told FOX 31 in Colorado. Henry got out of a one-year suspension last season when his attorneys demonstrated a failure in the NFL's testing process.

He cycled out of the program last year, his clock resets.

2 or 4 game suspension coming, or it could be considered a 1st offense unless this failed test is a 2nd failed test since he reset the clock within the last year.

either way, he's an idiot.

I doubt he'll get suspended, but then again I doubt anyone will sign him either. I can't totally put a fork in him, but he's very, very close.

He was a big fan favorite to Bills fans until he started porking underage girls.

This guy needs to go back to his mothers womb and start over.

IIRC, Henry was not cycled out of the program after he won his appeal. But FWIW, I seem to remember nothing conclusive was released information-wise about how he failed and why he won his appeal. A lot of leaked information came out, but I think the NFL put the squash on any official information.

Won’t this be the 3rd time? 3rd time = year suspension
IIRC, if a player goes 2 years through the drug education and rehab program, he gets his strikes wiped out. I believe Henry was at like 23 months when his issues popped up last season. I don't know if the league cycled him out of the program. I also don't know if the player goes all the way back to zero in terms of strikes or if he only goes back to having one strike. The league also does not announce who is in the program and how many strikes they have, so it's hard to really tell who is at what stage. I think the worst case is Henry is suspended 4 games, but I suppose we will find out. This still makes it unlikely a team would touch him, which is the bigger deal in this whole mess.

I'd say Travis Henry is dumber than a bag of rocks, but that would be an insult to rocks.

This guy just doesn't get it.

A total shame too... he had the talent to be one of the best backs of this decade.

This is one the funniest things I've read in a while.

You smoking some of his ####?
Am I putting him in the top 5 of this decade? No, but I think he would definitely been in the top 10 if didn't wreck his career with all of the off-field baggage. Go back and look at his second and third seasons in Buffalo. He put up good numbers on pretty poor teams - particularly in 2003 when we was played most of the season with a broken bone in his foot. When given the opportunity to be a feature back again in Houston, he put up 1,200 yards in only 13 games started. The guy had the talent, he just didn't have his head on straight.

He never played for Houston.

Well there's always the possibility that he knew his career was over and didn't care if he tested positive or not. It's not like anyone was the slightest bit interested in signing him before this news broke.

I was going to play for my 4th NFL team but I got high

I was going to make some $ to take care of my 9 kids but I got high

I was going to get back in the good graces with the FF players but I got high , But I got high , But I got high

This is a shame. I had heard Henry was in line to replace William F. Buckley as host of a new version of Firing Line on PBS where'd he get the chance to discuss topics such as the International Monetary Fund, humanitarian projects in third world nations, and various global subjects endemic to our times. Darn. Now this. Well, I guess the fallout from this drug incident will ruin that opportunity. Maybe his agent can get him a gig in Arena football, instead.
