Travis Henry -Partially Torn PCL (1 Viewer)

Travis Henry revealed Thursday that he has a partially torn PCL, but still hopes to play against the Titans on Monday night.

Henry was limited on Thursday and is not expected to practice Friday. "I feel like I can play," he said. Coach Mike Shanahan wasn't so sure. Even if Henry is active, it's almost certain that he'll be limited against Tennessee. He's not a fantasy option. Selvin Young is a solid flex start even if Henry is up. Nov. 15 - 3:51 pm et

What is with Shannahan? He just said yesterday that Henry's MRI was "good"

I guess that means the doctors did a good job...

Same injury as ADP? Find it strange Henry thinks he can go and they are considering it when ADP is ruled out.

I honestly don't know, but it seems to me that "partially torn" can be a pretty broad spectrum. So it is likely not the same as ADP. His partially could be far less extreme than ADP's or far more extreme. Who knows?I would love it if they would say he is out, but I doubt that happens.

my mistake, your right, different (*)CL of some sort, these days you just have to change to a different letter in the alphabet it seems and someone has torn it.

I am being held hostage by Travis Henry, and I really don't like it. Either play, go on IR, or get suspended. Every year I do this to myself. Damn you Broncos and your rb's.

he'll *think* he can go right up until they suspend him.he's got 9 mouths to feed via child support. he's got some serious baby momma drama goin' on, and he needs to get his ducks in a row.

Broncos RB Henry Has Slightly Torn PCL, But May Play Sunday

Andrew Mason, DenverBroncos.com - [Full Article]

Denver Broncos RB Travis Henry has a partial tear of the posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) in his left knee, but was prepared for practice Thursday afternoon. What happens at practice could well determine whether he could line up against the Titans on Monday. "I feel like I can play, but I'll see what I can do today; that's going to determine when I get back," he said. Henry had a brace covering his knee, but he noted it was for practice-time use only. "I'm not going to wear it in any games," he said. Henry's hearing with the NFL has been moved up to Friday.

We should know early Friday on this one.

I believe he was referring to "Sunday".

Yeah, it was a couple things actually. He gets the day wrong. States Henry's hearing has been moved up to friday when actually it was moved back. It was just poorly written IMO. "practice-time" ? I'm no english or journalism major, but I think his first statement should read Prepared to practice, not for. He also uses could twice in the same statement.

An LCL would be worse, IMO...the LCL is what keeps your knee from popping outward. It is usually a much more dense and strong tendon than the other knee tendons, so the force it would take to teear it would also be greater. The tendon is located on the outer portion of the knee.

What are people thinking his chances of coming back will be? Thinking of dropping him for Ricky Williams seeing as he's been ineffective for some time now...

this season?
Yes, this season.
I give him about a 5% chance to win the appeal. So if your not going to use him this weekend, I would drop him. On the other hand, you have held on to him this long, might as well wait another few days. I really feel that even if Henry isnt suspended, Selvin Young is going to get his share of carries down the stretch. I also dont think the Broncos have Henry in their future plans

Let's get together a pool of Selvin Young owners. We'll each chip in a dollar for Travis to help him pay his child support. But he's got to promise to quit now. Stop trying to practise while injured. Stop trying to delay the suspension. No more talk about how you think you could go next week, maybe. Just take off the jersey and promise not to put it on again this year.

He also thinks Henry didn't smoke the herb :hifive:
Ironic because every Selvin Young owner thinks Travis has smoked the herb.

Regardless if his lips touched the joint, he had MJ in his system. In the end, that is all that matters.

I didn't wish this injury on him, so I have no problems saying that this injury couldn't have happened to a nicer guy, deadbeat dad *******. I will be hoping for a suspension or IR, but only partly because of my fantasy team.

I cannot even begin to see how an NFL player can go out and play with a tear in the PCL. Selvin Young is ready to roll and if Shanny does not have him starting he might as well start bringing in the boxes to get his office cleaned out. Best case scenario now is the Haynesworth situation. He has a hammy and for a big man that is a killer. Bring it on Selvin. Time to shine kid!

from CBS Sportsline:

News: Travis Henry reluctantly slipped the brace over his sore left knee before heading out to practice. The Broncos running back can't stand the contraption. Yet with a slightly torn posterior cruciate ligament, Henry doesn't have much choice. He may have to wear the brace -- like it or not -- if he wants to suit up Monday (Week 11) against his former team, the Tennessee Titans. "I'll wear a brace for practice," Henry said Thursday. "But I ain't going to wear it in no game." Henry had hoped his knee would be further along by now. He did practice on a limited basis Thursday, running some drills with the scout team and stepping in on offense for a few plays. "I'm not going to say I'm 100 percent," he said after practice. "We've got until Monday, so we'll see."

Analysis: In the meantime, Henry has more pressing concerns. Henry is trying to keep the league from suspending him over the results of a drug test earlier this season. He'll present his case to the NFL in Phoenix on Friday. "It's been going on for so long," Henry said. "It's like you're ready to know what's going to happen." Broncos coach Mike Shanahan has already thrown his support behind his tailback. He said Henry passed a lie detector test and a recent hair sample taken from Henry came back negative for marijuana. "We'll let due process take care of itself," said Shanahan, who doesn't expect the ruling to come down before Monday night's game. If healthy, consider Henry a viable No. 2 Fantasy RB against the Titans, who own one of the league's top run defenses. However, if Albert Haynesworth (hamstring) is out once again, Henry might be considered a No. 1 Fantasy RB.

Here's MY analysis:

%$^&*(!!!!!

I hope somehow he gets suspeneded today.
Being a Young owner, I hope that happens, but Adam Schefter last night on Total Access said that the NFL tries to avoid suspending a player during "game preperation" time for a team, or something along those lines. In other words, they won't suspend a player this close to game day.Come Tuesday though, we'll see what happens.

Let Henry take the pounding from Haynesworth (supposed to play now?) and that run D this week. Selvin all the way after that!Well, that's the theory anyway.

Tuesday? I can't wait till Tuesday! I need Selvin NOW!Let's start a letter writing campaign to the Commissioner's office! This is intolerable. Travis Henry, for his own good, needs to go on some self-discovery trip to Nepal with Ricky Williams. The last thing he needs right now is to suit up for a football game. Travis, your nine children, if they knew who you were or had ever had the opportunity to meet you, would not want you to get hurt anymore. (Of course, their nine different mothers might, though...)

Wouldn't that be a hilarious. The NFL receiving campaign letters to suspend Travis Henry from Selvin Young owners across the country. Thats when Fantasy Football crosses the line into the real world. Then we'll have our own lobbying party and establish an official "FFL Draft Party Day" holiday the week prior to the season starting.FREE SELVIN YOUNG!!

This thread just like so many before was supposed to be about Travis Henry and his gametime status but yet again it is clogged up with Selvin Young owners complaining hoping for Henry to go on IR or suspended. Thanks guys.

Yes, let's feel sorry for Mr. dozen kids by a dozen mothers, can't lay off the weed, Travis Henry. No one is sympathetic toward this moron. Even us that own neither Selvin or Travis.

If Henry is suspended while being injured, then does he still get paid? If so, is there a chance he is milking it and the Broncos are rushing him back to keep from paying him?

Okay, so back to actual football information - with the Monday night game, I believe that the Bronco's may have practiced today? Any word on Henry's participation or any further news out of Denver?

It's not much, but this from the Rocky Mtn News:T Henry

Henry was scheduled to be back in Denver in time to attend team meetings and practice today - the Broncos will have a short workout this evening at Invesco Field at Mile High. His status for the game Monday night is uncertain, because of a partial tear of the posterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. Henry has worn a brace on the knee during practice this week.

You can play through a torn PCL. Unlike LCL/MCL/ACL. It stabilizes your knee from going forward. You have several other structures in your knee that can also do that. While this is not ideal, I know of more then one player that has come back and played after tearing the PCL (T Holt is one that comes to mind after sitting out a week or two). Perhaps Ravens, JB or someone who does more sports medicine can chime to damper down the ADP/LJ speculation that is beginning to happen in the thread... Is it just me or are there more armchair orthopods this year then in the past?

Travis Henry (knee) has been ruled out for Week 12 against Chicago. Selvin Young (knee) is listed as questionable, and did limited work Friday.

Broncos coach Mike Shanahan said Young will be worked out before Sunday's 4:05 game to determine whether he'll start. He's worth waiting for if you have Andre Hall in reserve or similar options in later games. Shanahan believes Henry will be healthy enough to play in Week 13. The chances of Henry winning the appeal of his year suspension seem to be improving.

Finally, some good news for Henry owners, he could be a nice play if he wins his suspension seems like more and more people seem to think he will.
