Trent Green, QB, MIA
Severe Concussion - Dolphins' QB Trent Green will miss at least a couple of weeks after suffering what is being reported as a grade 3 concussion. Green, who was hurt when his head struck the knee of DL Travis Johnson while attempting to throw a block during a busted play in the first half, was knocked unconsious and remained face down and motionless on the field for several minutes. He was eventually secured to a spine board and carted off the field and into the locker room where he was examined and monitored. Green began to show signs of improvement but he was taken to a local hospital as a precaution. He was later released and allowed to travel back to Miami with the team. Head coach Cam Cameron addressed the media on Monday and he acknowledged that Green had suffered a severe concussion but that the team didn't know how long he would be out. According to various media outlets Green has been diagnosed with a grade 3 concussion, but despite what is being reported a grade 3 concussion is not the most severe type of concussion. Concussions are actually broken down into 6 grades, with a grade 6 (the most severe) resulting in massive intracranial bleeding, total cardiorespiratory collapse and death. Green suffered a pretty bad concussion, but nothing close to the most severe type. Green has suffered a severe concussion before, so that will lengthen his recovery time. But at this point it is far too early to tell how long he will be out.

I did some checking on my own and I found out that concussions do have 6 grades. My guess is since they called it a grade 3, and some injuries grade 3 is the most severe, rather than do a little research the geniuses at ESPN just put 2 and 2 together.....and got 5....
