I am not a college football fan so only have limited knowledge about him. Of the things I've heard about him, he is supposed to be the best prospect since Peterson, which sets his FF value pretty high. So how does he compare to other more established RBs already in the NFL? If you were to have a draft today (redraft league) how high would you take him? I've heard him being taken as high as 5th or 6th RB taken of the board based solely on his potential. Is he really that good? The last time a rookie was so hyped was Reggie Bush and although he ended up being a decent RB in the NFL, he didnt live up to his hype and certainly not to his FF draft slot. Is Richardson any different? Is he more of a sure thing? If he is really that good, where do you pull the trigger on him?

For me, there are only a few no-brainers out there at RB this year: Foster, Rice, and McCoy. Followed by MJD and Forte, depending on the system. After that, I think I might be willing to take a chance with him. Peterson, CJ, Mathews, Lynch, McFadden and Charles all have questions surrounding them so Richardson taken here should maybe be considered.

Also, would his landing spot make any difference to you? A lot of mock drafts have him going to Tampa Bay. Others to Cinci or Cleveland. Another to KC. Obviously, if he lands in a place where there is an established starter (Houston, Baltimore, Philly), which most likely won't happen, his value would drop. But what if he lands in a place like Cleveland, St. Loius, or KC, assuming the starters there (Hillis, SJax and Charles) stay? How does that affect your decision?

Let's discuss.

PS: I did a search in this forum for "Trent Richardson" and "Richardson" and surprisingly found zero matches. I was able to find a few threads with Richardson discussed peripherally (Richardson vs. Peterson, 1.1 draft pick etc.). I thought it would be a good idea to have a thread focusing on him and how he pertains to FF.

Try a search for 'dynasty rankings' he dominates a majority of those threads. Also look at the various '2012 rookie prospects' threads. There's tons out there on him, might have to scroll back a few months though. I have trouble linking threads on my phone or else I would. Also, make sure you're in the shark pool first and then do a search. I find that works better. Enjoy

The thread about 'who would you rather have than 1.01(or something like that)' is basically all about him.

See if these work:

These will still give you people's analysis of him as a player and good discussion if you are a football fan. No worries if you don't want to sort through all the dynasty info but a lot of it is relevant to redraft as well.

WSL drafts are going on right now.

16 team and he went

WSL1 he went 3.8 and 14th RB

WSL2 he went 3.7 and 13th RB

WSL3 he went 5.2 and 20th RB

I can tell you I was going to take him in 1(slowest draft) because 3 had him drop so far and I passed hoping the same would happen. It impacted me for sure there or he would have gone 3.1 and RB12 but there is other options out there I like for the end of the 3rd

So top 15 looks about correct right now in redraft

Well, if you are honestly interested in redraft, you can't get much of a feel at all until post-draft, and in truth, can't get a true feel until mid-preseason. There are certainly "slam dunk" locations such as Tampa or KC where I feel he would have an immediate impact (sorry Charles fans, but it is a distinct possibility), and then, w/o trades, the next spot could be the Jets. The Bengals and Falcons are the closest RB need teams that could leapfrog the Jets and between those three teams, from a one-year standpoint, I would guess the Bengals are the best landing spot (decent line, good QB/WR combo to open things) as long as Benson is not back. Jets would be my next "best" guess from a RB standpoint (Greene will give way, not LT back (my guess anyways) and McKnight focusing on the return game). He lands in NY or Cincy, you pull the trigger (in redraft)...anything else needs judgement and adjustment.

I'm not sure how his re-draft value can be assessed without knowing where he ends up.
Bingo. Useless to speculate until we know who drafts him. Lots of times teams surprise us by taking a RB in the 1st round who already have a viable starter. My hope is that the Bengals draft him, that would maximize his value, but they draft pretty late.

Watch him slide all the way to the Packets. RBs don't seem to go very high, and high pick teams have so many holes to fill, it doesn't make sense to take a RB.

Agree here. I'm not sure why anyone would even want to waste much time trying to assess the redraft value of a rookie RB before he is even drafted.

Trent is better then Blount in all areas. Also Blount is not very smart and still hasn't learned his assignments so even his experience isn't much of an advantage as he hasn't learned much.

hes going to be the one two punch of the Bucs, Blount will get the short yardage.
I tend to agree that this is his most likely landing spot. Not sure why he would be any more valuable in redraft formats than J. Stewart if he ends up in a spot where he is sharing time.I think they are equally talented runners. But, yeah it's impossible to know his value without knowing his destination.

Blount is light-years less talented than D-Will. He'd be obsolete with Trent there. Blount isn't taking short-yardage or goal-line carries from anyone.

No argument with the Blount vs. DWill assessment. But, at the same time I don't think Blount would be relegated to pure back-up status right out of the gates. Particularly given that the franchise is likely not in the hunt for any post-season accolades in the short term, I could easily see the staff wanting to share wear and tear between the two.No argument that Richardson is a pure stud in dynasty formats, just speculating on one potential landing spot not making that happen in the immediate future.

I don't think Richardson is going to TB at #5 overall. That will be a defense pick.

Teams, for the most part, have learned that RBs in the top part of round one are not a good value.

For the same reason someone would want to assess his dynasty value without knowing where he lands?

How is that the same at all?

I say there's a very good chance they take Richardson. They are not happy with LB.

Agreed. Blount has his limitations and Richardson is awesome. I can see it happening.
