Trent Richardson (1 Viewer)

When Richardson gets selected in the 2012 NFL draft, hell punch his ticket to the hall of fame, assuming he stays healthy, which obviously is something none of us can predict.

Richardson has been compared to Emmitt Smith many times, and the reason is that they are carbon copies of each other. They both possess excellent vision, dole out punishment, and have tremendous goalline ability. Richardson makes moves that are amazing for a man his size. He has unbelievable hips, wide shoulders and quick feet. He's the prototypical RB.

Any thought of him splitting carries should only concern re-draft people, as many RB's split carries early on, including Peterson, Chris Johnson, etc.

If I'm in a dynasty startup right now, there are only 2 rb's I take ahead of Richardson. Chris Johnson and Adrian Peterson. And while some of you disagree now...you won't in 2013.

1500 yards, 15 td's are what Richardson will drop for the next 5 years. He may be more of a 1200 and 12 TD guy this year, depending on how they use him.

The only thing that keeps him from being a HOF RB in my opinion is health. Same thing with Peterson and Chris Johnson for that matter though. Neither are HOF material yet. But if they stay healthy for another 5-6 years, they will be.

The one thing we KNOW Emmitt had that we don't know about Richardson is durability. We won't know that for a long time. But if he stays durable, he will be enshrined in Canton in about 15 years.

Proto-typical RB's don't grow on trees

Missed one.

All Richardson needs is the Cowboys offensive line that Emmett benefited from back in the 90s (rejuvenated, of course) and he will be all set.

Otherwise we're punching the ticket too early here. I'm sure Richardson will be a quality back, but if you're expecting him to be the next LT (or Emmett, or whatever great one you want to say) you likely stand to be disappointed. I feel it safe to say he'll have stats comparable to those of A.P., but saying anything more at this point is unjustifiable.

I love those trying to use Ingram as an example of why Richardson is over-rated. Makes no sense as no one with a brain thought Ingram was on the same level as a prospect as richardson is.

I took it as mocking Ingram which in my book is A-OK.
Me too. I laughed after reading it and thought it was clever joke.Ingram still could be very good. Hall of fame? Unlikely. But even that is still possible. He did land in a bad situation so maybe things would be different for him with more opportunity and if he didn't get hurt?As for Trent Richardson, the guy is poised for greatness. Predicting anyone to be a hall of famer prior to the nfl draft seems like a stretch but if he stays healthy and lands in a non-RBBC spot then it is possible. He has that kind of potential from what I've seen of him in college. I owned Ingram and Richardson for the past couple of years and there was never a time when I thought ingram was better than Richardson in terms of nfl potential.

I thought it was funny. And I am big on Trent, much more so than Ingram, but it is still funny.

Dibs on the Eddie Lacy HOF thread.
and I already did the search and replace for you to paste into that thread next year...When Lacy gets selected in the 2012 NFL draft, hell punch his ticket to the hall of fame, assuming he stays healthy, which obviously is something none of us can predict.Lacy has been compared to Emmitt Smith many times, and the reason is that they are carbon copies of each other. Do you have any idea how many RB's would be in the HOF if they had Emmitt's durability? Just off the top of my head in recent years there's McFadden, Mendenhall, Ronnie Brown, and Deuce McAllister. If Richardson stays healthy there's very good likelihood he'll be a HOF but staying healthy that long is a difficult thing for RB's.

Always thought the OP was a bum. Now it's confirmed
Ohhhhhh, come on man... saying I'm not funny woulda been proficient. I'm not actually comparing them at all, I think Richardson has a shot to be a once in a generation talent. I just saw people talking about Ingram the other day and going through the Ingram HOF thread... this had to be done, surprised I was the first one to get to it lol
