Drafted him in the 2nd round of a very early draft league (before the knee surgery). Didn't get to watch the game today. Was he just horrible? Was Weeden so bad that there was 9 in the box? Someone please enlighten me.

i watched the game. he had absolutely no where to run. browns couldnt move the ball through the air either. he made a few nice cuts but i wouldnt go so far to say he even "showed flashes." i wouldnt be worried.

If nothing else, Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Rey Maualuga added a little spice to Sunday's "Battle of Ohio" against the Cleveland Browns .

The game marks Maualuga's first up-close look at Browns rookie running back Trent Richardson , a player he doesn't sound overly impressed with.

"He can run you over, and you can miss a tackle, at the same time, from what we've seen he didn't do nothing spectacular," Maualuga told CBSSports.com, via The Plain Dealer . "From running screens, missing passes, trying to find a hole when he's running the ball. He just didn't do anything spectacular from what I've seen. I'm pretty sure he's going to want to get after it once he plays us."

Browns coach Pat Shurmur blew off the remarks Thursday, but Richardson did not, admitting he's thought more than once about the critique.

"Most definitely," Richardson told the newspaper. "When somebody wants to talk mess, I mean, hey, that's them. I let my game speak for itself, so if they want to see how mad I am, or how upset they got me about the comment, you'll see Sunday."

Even worse is that the player is Rey Maualuga, who is horrible at MLB. I'm a Bengals fan, but watching Rey's poor angles, inability to shed blocks (Leach ate him for lunch Monday), and subpar instincts is getting old. Seems to be a lot of over-complicating the situation. As someone said before the season started, the value of a running back (and players generally) is opportunity plus talent. There's probably only half a dozen or so running backs this year who aren't in some sort of shared situation. Richardson is one of them. And he has talent. So whatever you think of the team generally or the teams he's scheduled against, he should finish no lower than the top 12 of RBs at the end of the season.
