i watched the game. he had absolutely no where to run. browns couldnt move the ball through the air either. he made a few nice cuts but i wouldnt go so far to say he even "showed flashes." i wouldnt be worried.'Lavachebeadsman said:Drafted him in the 2nd round of a very early draft league (before the knee surgery). Didn't get to watch the game today. Was he just horrible? Was Weeden so bad that there was 9 in the box? Someone please enlighten me.
Go back and read some of the Marshawn Lynch threads from September last here. Lots of doom and gloom, Tavaris is a joke, the offense is a cancer, stay away from anything that even remotely resembles a Seahawk. That advice turned out to be misguided to say the least. Having pointed that out, something about Shurmur gives me little confidence that he knows what to do here. I get the feeling he might be in over his head.Yep, by that time, the Browns will be 0-5 or 0-6 and firmly established in their eternal bettle for the first round draft pick of 2013...'Kboyd78 said:I'm buying this guy in every league. First 5-6 games are brutal but this kid has second half of the season/fantasy playoff monster written all over him.Yes, Richardson has a ton of talent - sadly he is in an organization that doesn't know how to use it. CLEVELAND people - not much more to it here.

Even worse is that the player is Rey Maualuga, who is horrible at MLB. I'm a Bengals fan, but watching Rey's poor angles, inability to shed blocks (Leach ate him for lunch Monday), and subpar instincts is getting old. Despite his inexperience, I'm starting to want to see Burfict get a chance - I don't know how it could be much worse. Sorry for the rant; i had to vent after seeing Rey's comments.'jurb26 said:Kind of odd that any Cincinnati player would talk smack when they just surrendered 44 points to the Ravens.
This coming from a player that has never looked anything but mediocre his entire career. Mr 3 solos himself.Oh yeah:
If nothing else, Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Rey Maualuga added a little spice to Sunday's "Battle of Ohio" against the Cleveland Browns .
The game marks Maualuga's first up-close look at Browns rookie running back Trent Richardson , a player he doesn't sound overly impressed with.
"He can run you over, and you can miss a tackle, at the same time, from what we've seen he didn't do nothing spectacular," Maualuga told CBSSports.com, via The Plain Dealer . "From running screens, missing passes, trying to find a hole when he's running the ball. He just didn't do anything spectacular from what I've seen. I'm pretty sure he's going to want to get after it once he plays us."
Browns coach Pat Shurmur blew off the remarks Thursday, but Richardson did not, admitting he's thought more than once about the critique.
"Most definitely," Richardson told the newspaper. "When somebody wants to talk mess, I mean, hey, that's them. I let my game speak for itself, so if they want to see how mad I am, or how upset they got me about the comment, you'll see Sunday."

Rookie running back Trent Richardson moved well Friday during the 20-minute portion of practice open to the media. Coach Pat Shurmur noticed it, too.
“I think it’s fair to say he’ll be better ready to play this week than last,” Shurmur said. “I watch it every time he comes out here, he looks a little bit crisper and smoother.”
Richardson, who had arthroscopic surgery on his left knee Aug. 9 and missed all four preseason games, appeared to be more comfortable sprinting and making cuts than he was last week. He’s hoping to rebound from a lackluster NFL debut in which he rushed for 39 yards on 19 carries (2.1 average) against the Eagles.
“I think running backs do need to get their legs underneath them,” Shurmur said. “Him having missed practice at the outset probably hurt him a little bit. Now [that] he’s had a chance to practice two weeks fully, I think he’ll start to get back on track.”
My link... Kirkpatrick and Richardson: Sunday will mark a reunion for close friends Trent Richardson and Bengals cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick, the No. 17 overall pick. Both played at Alabama and have known each other since high school.
"He was pretty much one of the reasons why I chose Alabama," Kirkpatrick told Bengals reporters. "We had set a goal that we wanted to play together, and we wanted to win two national championships from Day 1, and that's what we did. We've been best of friends."
Kirkpatrick knows Richardson will play with a chip on his shoulder from last week's 39-yard effort.
"Yeah, he's going to be angry," said Kirkpatrick. "He's going to want to give more production this week. I hope we can do a good job of maintaining and stopping him and not letting him be a big factor."
Yeah, I gotta feel'n we're going to see an improvement in Browns rookie RB Trent Richardson starting this Sunday.... [browns center Alex] Mack said he calls most of the plays in the Browns’ protection schemes.
“I’m a big part of our communication on the line,” he said. “As a center, it goes with my job. My job is to make sure the whole line is on the same page. I take pride in that. I have to execute on game days.”
Mack said he would like to see the Browns run the ball better on Sunday. They had 99 yards on 22 carries against the Eagles (4.5 yards per carry).
“Developing the run game a bit earlier in the game is important,” Mack said. “We left some yards out there. Let’s see if we can come back this week.”
Running back Trent Richardson seems to have a bit more bounce in his step this week. He was limited to 39 yards on 19 carries last week (2.1 yards per carry).
“I think it’s the whole offense (is fired up),” Mack said. “We needed to define a couple things for (Richardson). He needs to do a good job of seeing what (holes) we make up there.
“We made some errors early in the game that stopped us from doing it later. If we fix those, I think we can have a good run game.”
Did he get traded?I gotta feeling T-Rich is going to have a much better game this week.

Now [that] he’s had a chance to practice two weeks fully, I think he’ll start to get back on track.”My link...
I hope we can do a good job of maintaining and stopping him and not letting him be a big factor."Yeah, I gotta feel'n we're going to see an improvement in Browns rookie RB Trent Richardson starting this Sunday....
