trivia: teams winning the all time series vs their division (1 Viewer)

What teams are winning the all time series vs each of the other 3 teams in their division?

Hint: 3 in the AFC, 1 in the NFC.

How about:

Indy (Jags and Texans should be easy...do the Titans count Oiler stats as well?)

Pitt (They've just been so good for so long, a little worried about the record against Baltimore)

Oakland (Just dont feel comfortable about any AFC east team, so this was trying to pick one out of the AFC West)

San Fran (Seattle, Arizona and St Louis have been mediocre at best. Don't feel too comfortable about this guess.)

There's gotta be one surprise, otherwise it wouldn't be interesting enough to post.

AFC:

Steelers: An obvious choice

Colts: Pretty confident here

Raiders: Historically dominant and remained competitive in the division during the down years.

NFC:

Seahawks: Since they've made the switch from the AFC to NFC they've been playoff contenders during the Hasselbeck era.

The East and North teams have such tight rivalries that I doubt any team has the advantage over the rest. The South is a revolving door of dominance.

49ers-Rams also happens to be knotted at 61-61-2. The 49ers only have a winning record vs the Cardinals in their division.

AFC is hard, as the AFC East and West seem pretty even. Hard to think of a dominant team there. Miami has been an excellent franchise and I'm sure has winning records against BUF and NE but I know the Jets are ahead of them.

AFC West seems equally difficult. If I had to choose it would be between KC and OAK. Both have had long stretches of greatness. The Chiefs were great most of the '90s and had a long stretch during the late '60s and early '70s. The Raiders had all of the Madden era and then some pockets with Gruden and Flores. Coin-flip between OAK and KC but I guess I'd pick OAK since I think they handled the Chiefs even during the AFL era.

AFC South has to be Indy. And it's probably not very close. The Jags' best years came before the division was formed.

AFC North has to be PIT. They certainly have the better record vs. the Browns and Bengals and have had fewer down years than BAL.

NFC West - 49ers have been too down since '02.

NFC North - have to think they all beat each other up.

NFC South - maybe the Saints, although they were with the Falcons during their NFC West days so probably not.

NFC East - Cowboys? Dallas has almost never been down. Giants and Eagles have had some very rough stretches whereas the Cowboys seem to have always been great. It's easier to remember DAL's bad stretches (last 3 years of Landry, 3 years of Campo) because they are so few and far between. Skins probably would have been my pick if this was 20 years ago, but they've been so mediocre for too long. Curious to see how they would have fared after '91.

Wow. Would have never guessed that. I guess the Rams took them to the woodshed pretty hard in the decade of the '70s. LA was one of the best teams in the league and SF was one of the worst.

Chicago leads the all time series versus GB...so maybe they are the NFC team.

ETA: I just looked up the Vikings and they have the edge on Chicago

The Raiders went 7-1-2 against the Chiefs in one stretch in the late '60s when both franchises were at their best, and I think that's what confused me. I didn't realize that in the '90s the Chiefs went 17-3 against the Raiders; that's nuts.

The Chiefs seem to fly under the Radar. They had those Super Bowl years early on. They had the Schottenheimer era. They had some good years under Vermiel.

The falcons may be the nfc answer. The Saints and Bucs havr been really bad over the years, and I know they are winning the series with Carolina (panthers fan)

It's not the NFC North.

Packers are 51-47-1 vs Vikings, but 83-91-6 vs. Bears. Bears are 45-52-2 against the Vikings. Everyone beats the Lions.

The Falcons are 22-12 vs the Panthers, 45-40 vs the Saints, but 18-19 vs the Buccaneers. If they sweep the Bucs this season, they become the 5th team on the list.

NFC has to be the 49ers - even with the lost decade.AFC - I think the Steelers are one. The Colts have to be one. For the 3rd one...I'll go Patriots (but it could be Broncos).-QG
