Troy Williamson (1 Viewer)

Look out. Some rookie WR's in Minn could have some nice value this year.
If you were th Vikes and had that WR corps, Jackson at QB, and Peterson and Taylor at RB, wouldn't you be inclined to run the ball. A lot.
Yes, If I were an NFL Head coach I would be inclined to try and run the ball no matter who I had on my team. But this situation looks similar to me of the Cards the year when Boldin and Johnson were drafted. Somone has to emerge as a recieving threat, right?
Where's the love for Frank Sanders?

You don't let go of your best seperation WR regardless of how many rookie WRs you've drafted.

If they go after Key or another veteran WR then I'll start to pay attention.

It's actually four that they drafted. From what I've heard/read Tyler Thigpen, QB from Coastal Carolina is being tried at WR.Having said that, the idea that Williamson would be cut loose before someone like Hankton or Lowber is ludicrous to me.From the little opportunity he's had, I've liked Jason Carter.
There have been a few rumors circulating that the Vikings are planning to move seventh-round pick Tyler Thigpen from quarterback to receiver. But Thigpen’s agent, Joel Turner, said he would be “stunned” if that happens. Thigpen is a mobile quarterback and can take off out of the pocket, but he runs a 4.7 in the 40-yard dash so it’s safe to assume he will be staying put as a QB.
Strib blog :lmao: .
I am confused by this as well. Possibly they are trying to convince other teams that he is a WR so they can safely move him to practice squad later. They can only carry 3 QBs and maybe they like Drew Henson a little more. I am not even buying this.

Maybe they can trade him. Stranger things have happened. Denver received a third-round draft pick for Ashley Lelie.

Why don't they get Williamson returning kickoffs at the very least?
He did that a bit last year. They then had Bethel returning kicks, claiming that Troy was spending too much time worrying about kickoff returning and not enough practice on receiving, or something to that effect.

It also didn't help his confidence because he fumbled several times, including the opening kickoff of the season.

What is the status on Williamson getting lasic? Isn't his sight what the Vikings and Williamson were blaming his inconsistancy on? Maybe we'll learn a lot more about this situation once they get their minicamp out of the way.I just received him as a throw in in a trade, so I'm hoping he can become at least a good bye week filler. We'll see though.
i thought he had that done last offseason?
From my understanding, it was this off season and they sent him to that special place to extra help.
The Vikings did not send him. The program he went to is run by Nike, one of Williamson's sponsors. His agent got him in through the Nike people.

Good point!!! If I recall correctly, they were supportive of him in doing it too.
