Absolutely agree. If it is within 12 hours I drive.hey do this try driving somewhere once ina while you get to see our great country and half the fun is getting there and crazy thing you might actually talk to your kids or wife and get to know them a little i know that sounds old fashioned but hey it worked for a hell of a long time take that to the bank brohans

I drove to South Carolina (from Minnesota) twice last year. Drove to New Orleans in March. Drove to the Grand Canyon in May. And am driving to Boston beginning tomorrow...with us (my wife, daughters and I) introducing our girls to 12 new States (on their States visited list) and Ontario on our round-trip. Stops in Chicago, NYC, Niagara Falls, etc. It's a TON of time in the van! But I can guarantee you that it'll be ten-times more interesting than waving at 2-3 landmarks from 35,000 feet. And after that, it'll be Alaska to go, and I can say I've spent boots-on-the-ground time in all 50 US States.
But back on-topic: I had never heard of the TSA pre-check before either. There's you're winning idea right there: ADVERTISE THE FRIGGIN' SERVICE! How many millions of people who fly a lot would pony-up $85 to not need to be subjected to all the B.S. of taking off shoes and unpacking laptop bags?! It's the best idea anyone is going to submit related to both saving the TSA money and cutting down the time it takes to make it through security checkpoints.
