Tuesday nights game (1 Viewer)

Is there any scenario where the Eagles would be tempted to rest their starters at some point of the game? With the Giants loss, the Eagles clinch the division. If the Falcons win tomorrow, i believe they have home field throughout the playoffs.

When i heard about the weather this morning i was tempted to start TB Williams over Desean. After the game was moved, i didnt have time to think about it any further so i left Jackson in. Down by 1.5 points in my championship with only Jackon left, him not playing is the only thing that can cost me the win.

Im also a big Vick game away from another championship and was just curious what people think about the Eagles starters playing Tuesday.

Doubt it. They still have a shot at the 2 seed so their starters will play week 16. If they lose week 16, they will probably rest week 17.

I don't think there is a scenario where they rest their players in week 16 or 17.

Even if they lose this game, they could still lose their division if they lost week 17.

So starters should play both weeks.

The only scenario I can see is if they have a decent lead and they're playing against a team that can't move the ball, which could be Minnesota.

Considering the short week since the game is a Tuesday, I could see Philly calling off the dogs a little earlier than normal. But no, I don't think they go into this game thinking they have anything wrapped up so we're going to rest players.

I just think the game may be in hand and since it's already Tuesday night, they may cool it in the 2nd half.

Your right, the 2 seed gives them a first round bye, so its worth "risking" injury for.

The already won the division when NY lost to GB today. They can finish no worse then the 3 seed.

NO...Eagles won the division today with the Giants loss.Philly could be the #1, 2, or 3 seed depending on what happens in the next week.To be #1, Philly would have to win both games, have Atlanta lose both of their games, and Chicago would have to lose next week. Other games may play a factor in a 3 way tiebreaker. Not likely. To be #2, Philly has to win both games and Chicago has to lose next week. Possible.Philly has already locked up no worse than the #3 seed.I can't see the Eagles resting anyone this week. WIn this week, and they're unlikely to rest anyone next week either.

What is the best scenario for them to rest starters in week 17? A loss this week? I hate week 17 championships, but i play in one and will likely be playing a Vick owner.

Nevermind, the post above answered my question.

It's very likely they will be the 2 seed. If I had to predict, that's where I think they'll finish. They'll beat up Minnesota, I don't even know who's starting at QB for Dallas against Philly. If it's McGee, they'll beat up on them too.So it comes down to Chicago winning in Green Bay. If I had to pick the winner of that game I would say Green Bay, so I like Philly's chances at finishing as the 2 seed.I don't see Atlanta losing twice. It's possible to lose to New Orleans but losing to Carolina with the No. 1 seed on the line would be shocking.

No scenario where they rest starters completely this week.

However, it is possible that they'll be quicker to pull starters during a blowout (which this will be) since they're facing an unexpectedly short week.

Yep. This crap really screwed the Eagles. Gives AP more time to heal and be healthier for the game. Also gives Favre time & Webb more time to prepare. Followed by the Eagles having extremely short week in a game they must win also.

Plus it gives Desean Jackson two more days to slip in the shower or trip over his dog.

I wouldn't worry about the Vikings if I was an Eagle fan. They've quit and are going to roll over. However, the short week does hurt. Remember, unlike other similar short weeks (i.e. Thursday games) their opponent won't be in the same boat.
