do you partake and if so, would you be willing to share your username to gain followers?
Sure, but I think there may a few Twitter threads already. Also, be forewarned, Twitter is NOT a social network (Dr. Genius, 2013).do you partake and if so, would you be willing to share your username to gain followers?

Yes. twice. Bunch of anti social bastardsSO I'm the only one using the hastag #FBGFFA?
I know a lot of people who do this.Is it odd to mainly use Twitter as a source to read, and to tend not to post anything?

If I want to post something I want friends and family to read, I post it to Facebook (I post there maybe once a month).I know a lot of people who do this.Is it odd to mainly use Twitter as a source to read, and to tend not to post anything?

I'm the same way, but some people are obsessed with follower counts. I've seen some blowhards on Twitter respond to someone making (what I think is) a somewhat sensible comment, and the blowhard replying by noting the person's low follower count, as though that speaks for itself as to whose view is correct. Similar are those who constantly tweet "how much their Twitter account is worth" updates.Wingnut said:I get using the Twitter machine for news and following people that interest you...but why would the average FBG, or any regular Joe, feel the need to have followers? Myself, I follow maybe 30-40 users and only tweet once in a while, but my tweets are usually in response to a tweet - I rarely just tweet something out from scratch.
What I REALLY dont get is when like radio personalities, etc say things like "Follow me and Ill follow you back", as if thats some sort of great incentive to follow them. And lets say that radio person gets 10k followers, and he in turn follows those 10k people...I cant imagine what his Twitter feed looks like, Id go nuts sifting through the hundreds if not thousands of tweets from everyday people I have no interest in reading tweets from just to find tweets form the people I actually want to read tweets from.
Know what Im sayin?
He's most likely using TweetDeck or some other app with lists and he's never seeing anything those people are posting.Wingnut said:I get using the Twitter machine for news and following people that interest you...but why would the average FBG, or any regular Joe, feel the need to have followers? You can make lists so you don't have to do all that adding and dropping every few months. Just make a football list, NBA list, MLB list, etc.I routinely clear my twitter follow list. About June-July, I'll add the various FBGs and other football twitters, then when football season ends I unfollow them and start following college basketball and MLB guys. I don't keep everyone around year round because I don't particularly care what band Joe Bryant is tweeting about or what brand of anal lube doug gottleib is promoting in the offseason
I follow about 150 people, but the only tweets I've ever made have been about Beef O' Brady's Bowl Parade.Wingnut said:I get using the Twitter machine for news and following people that interest you...but why would the average FBG, or any regular Joe, feel the need to have followers? First-world problems.
