Two Hours of Live Audible Tonight 9/24 10 pm Eastern (1 Viewer)

On the week 3 waiver wire show you mentioned Kellen Davis possibly hurting Olsen. Can you expand on that a bit?

I know many of us thought Olsen had 80-catch potential this year. He had 54 catches last year with bad QB play and presumably would get more targets this year (and so far, his 6 T/G is a slight increase on 5.1 T/G). But so far, the results aren't there.

1) Will Kellen Davis hurt Olsen? More than Clark would have?

2) Are you losing faith in Olsen? Knox/Hester/Bennett are getting more targets and receptions than I think we could reasonably expect. Small sample size or shift in the the mentality of the Bears passing game? Cutler leaned on Sheffler but we're not seeing that here -- it's possible his good numbers was just a byproduct of a pass heavy offense.

OTOH, CHI has faced two very good defenses. So how much lower on Olsen are you than you were 20 days ago? Is this weekend against Seattle a put up or shut up game? And, finally, will Cutler ever stop throwing Olsen suicide balls?

Hey Fellas,

1. I have McNabb and just picked up T. Edwards to go with Garrard as a b/u QB. Bloom has Garrard down around 21, and T.Ed at 9. Are you liking T. Edwards upside more just this week, or rest of season, too?

2. Picked up Johnny Knox after losing the Manningham lottery. Do you think Cutler can make JKnox an Eddie Royal type this year?

3. Here are some WR on the end of my bench, along with some guys already dropped to the waiver wire...can you rank these guys for the rest of the season: L. Moore, A. Bryant, L. Evans, E. Royal.

4. It always takes a few weeks for Offenses to gel if they've had changes in Head Coach, QB, O-line, O.Coordinator. What Offenses are poised to 'pick it up' in the next few weeks? Who do you believe in?

Gentlemen,

10-team redraft league. TD heavy, NON-PPR. Start 1QB, 2RB, 3WR plus IDP.

It's an auction league and I kind of went buck wild on the receivers. So I have Andre Johnson, Calvin Johnson, Roddy White, Vincent Jackson and Chris Henry, but ended up with K. Smith, Ray Rice, L. Washington, Moreno and McCoy.

I'm obviously set at receiver. But because it's TD heavy (3 pts/60 yards plus penalties for fumbles) I'm getting killed at RB.

I'm 0-2. Assuming I didn't blow the draft entirely, is this team coachable? How do I manage this stable of RBs going forward?

Get philosophical, muh bruthas!

Looking for two RB's to start this week. Choices are Chris Johnson, Ray Rice and Felix Jones. I know it's just new-dad silly to bench Johnson, especially after he hung a Jordanesque 45 points on my opponent last week, but assuming Barber is out or limited, both Felix Jones and Ray Rice have excellent matchups while Johnson has a pretty horrible matchup. I could see a similar day for Johnson as he had against Pittsburgh last week, or like he had against Baltimore AND the NY Jets during the REGULAR season last year. This is a standard scoring, non-ppr league. I know you'll say I'm crazy for even thinking of benching CJ, so please give me some analysis to make me feel better about it, then which of the other two. Thanks for the help.

P.S. A piece of advice for you Sigmund, from one new dad to one soon-to-be new dad: Let sleeping babies lie.

Great show as always guys...

1. Once again I have to ask bout Felix Jones. With Barber seemingly hobbled, does he get a lot of work this week? Does Choice take the heavy load? Just curious how you see it playing out.

2. Do you guys think Mendenhall ever amounts to anything? FWP seems to look like SWP nowadays and they do have a decent run schedule on the horizon. He has to hear the bust talk and I would think that he has to get some sort of motivation out of it, right?

3. Couch Potato is all about him some Mike Sims-Walker. What do you guys think?

4. Who to start: Carson or Garrard at QB, R. Brown or K. Smith at RB2

I download everything Audible and am thankful for the tireless efforts you guys put into each and every show.

PPR (1 PPR all players) Auction league and landed MJD, SJax, and Rice as my main ball carriers. McGahee was a cheap $1 handcuff at the end and I'm glad I got him, but now I'm torn on who to start. Is this the week I bench SJax and roll out both Rice and McGahee with their juicy matchup against Cleveland? I can start 2 RB's and one in my flex spot. If I do start SJax, which Ravens RB is the one to start this week?

Keep up the solid work!

Boom

PPR Dynasty Trade, I moved depth for the stud. Without listing my whole roster, did I win or lose in regards to value?

Gave:

R. Brown, Hester, Sims Walker & my first (should be a bottom 3 pick as I have the top scoring team right now)

Got:

Fitz, McClain, Barden

Hester- seems ranked pretty high on the FBG PPR top 250 forward ranking. I just moved him thinking that there will be too many hands to feed in Chicago and Hester could be used as a deep decoy more than a true #1WR. How do you see it moving forward?

Lynch- seems like many are thinking of a 50/50 split or less for him now. Is he still the better RB for now and long term? Could it be that F. Jackson looks so good because the Bills offense is much improved and Lynch should look better than ever and be the guy in a 65/35 split?

Hi guys, thanks for all the great shows!

A couple of questions. For both of you: what do you think the future holds for Jamal Charles and James Davis going forward? I still dont understand what is up with the KC backup RB situation, and who knows what is up with Jamal Lewis.

Also, Sigmund, I have to start Romo or Garrard this week in a 5 pt per passing TD league. Your current projections still have Garrard slightly ahead of Romo. Which one of the two has more upside this week?

Finally, what is the latest on Pierre Thomas, any latest thoughts on whether Hamilton will kill his value this week?

thank you guys.

Do you guys think Eddie Royal will begin to get more involved any time soon? He has done nothing with Orton at QB. I was expecting big things from Royal this season with Mcdaniels coming over from the Patriots. It would seem Royal would be the Wes Welker in this system. Would you guys just tough it out and see what happens or try to shop Royal to try get another WR?

Quick few questions guys:

1) I have Westbrook in one league (non PPR) and in bit is Cecil-worthy handcuff sculduggery, LeSean McCoy was sniped out from under me during the draft. I have that RB2 spot and a FLEX spot to fill. I'm thinking, Fred Jackson and Moreno, but I also have Donald Brown, Chris Henry and Eddie Royal. I have a waiver claim in on Brandon Marshall that goes through tonight, if I get him does that change anything? I am not trading for McCoy, I won't give the manager the satisfaction.

2) Need a flex play pick for the week (PPR, yards more important that TDs). Pick one: Pierre Thomas, Beanie Wells, or Eddie Royal. I'm not sure it's time to pull the trigger on Pierre, and I really WANT to pick Eddie, but even with a matchup against Oakland I'm lacking confidence...

3) IDP question: Is it time to hit the panic button on Ruud? Has the scheming in Tampa changed enough to make him just average? I have him in 3 leagues and there are a few guys (differs by league) on the waiver right now I could pick up instead like Durant, Lofton, Foote, Andra Davis, Akeem Jordan...which would you take over Ruud?

Thanks guys.

Awesome stuff, guys -- thanks for all you're doing!

A pair of running back questions:

1. I happen to be a recovering FWP owner (with Me-Mo as well). If one is to stay invested in the PIT backfield, in your opinions is it a better prospect to trade for Mendenhall, trade away FWP, or like the Burger King commercials hawking cheap promotional movie junk used to say... "collect them all?"

2. How valuable is Ware as a partial Jacobs handcuff?

Thanks a ton!

Riv.

Great show as always boys. Us up north are not all hockey fans.

Ok question....has Michael Bishop done enough to to keep his starting job for the Blue Bombers....OOOps....wrong league, wrong country...

try again...

Could you rank in order, best to worst going forward in TE's. Celek, Keller, Davis or Olsen. All are available in my small league. I was high on Olsen as you all were, but lately I'm not so sure. Celek was a beast last week, yet Davis shows promise and Keller looks great too.

Thanks in advance!

Bonezerelli, from the Great White North

Hi Guys great stuff as always.

PPR league start questions

RB2 Rice/McGahee

Different PPR league flex Rice/McGahee/Ocho Cinco/the NEW Steve Smith (NY) might be easier just to rank the four.

Thanks an as always and good luck in your own leagues!

With the death of buy-low/sell-high are there any guys you have pegged as coma-level sleepers that may wake up in the next few weeks?

Please give a shout out to the IDP Roundtable for those on the outside. That podcast has the density of a white dwarf.

Hey Guys,

Love the podcast been listening for years, just paid for subscription this year to get Waldman's stuff and love the rest, will definitely rejoin next year!

Here's my question:

I would like to strengthen my RB's, I was happy when S-Jax fell to me at 1.10 in a 12 team non ppr but I am considering moving him and would wonder who to target. I have been trying to bundle Willie Parker and Lee Evans and no ones interested. Any thoughts on RB's to target here with either S-Jax or the Parker/Evans combo?

Here's my team:

12 team non ppr standard scoring. Start: 1 QB 2 RB 3WR 1 K 1 Def, I can also swap a RB with a WR if need be.

QB Schaub

QB Garrard

RB SJax

RB Willie Parker

RB Donald Brown

RB Tim Hightower

RB Leon Washington

RB Ernest Graham

WR Calvin Johnson

WR OchoCinco

WR Dwayne Bowe

WR Lee Evans

WR Donnie Avery

WR Laurent Robinson

WR Deon Butler

WR Michael Clayton

K Tynes

Def Packers

I would like to keep my top 3 WR intact if possible. Do you think I should be pressing too hard to upgrade my RB or should I stand pat and wait for Parker's schedule to become easier, Donald Brown to take the job in Indy, and/or Hightower to take over once Beanie gets hurt.

Any thoughts and ideas are appreciated and currently I'm 1-1 and liking my chances for the division but there's always room for improvement!

d

Do I make this move for a better QB?

In a PPR league that you start 2 RB, 2 WR and 1 flex RB/WR, 6pts per TD in ALL Positions my depth looks like this....

RB1 DeAngelo Williams

RB2 Frank Gore

RB3 Darren McFadden

RB4 Cadillac Williams

WR1 Dwayne Bowe

WR2 Greg Jennings

WR3 Jericho Cotchery

QB1 David Garrard

QB2 Jason Campbell

QB is my obvious weakness. I've been offered Kurt Warner/Roy Williams for Jason Campbell/Greg Jennings, and i have tried countering with Campbell/Cotchery. I don't have much depth at WR; i can start 2 per week or 1 more in the flex spot. Cotchery has been solid so far as a bye week filler while Roy doesn't seem to have Romo's trust. Should i stick with my current team or make the move for Warner who is having unjury problems already?

Should i make a move

Hey guys!

In a PPR league, who would you lean towards for WR3 - Hester or Knox? Both appear to be returning kicks (no bonus for return yards but return TDs count), just wondering who's going to get the targets?

Thanks - The Capn

I have sort of a four-part question about the Arizona "running game." Just stuff that's rattling around in my brain over the past day or two that I figured I'd bounce off you guys:

1. At present, "Arizona RB1" is leading the league in RB targets in the passing game(actually, I think they're all to Hightower). We know that Hightower is a pretty fair receiver, so that makes at least some sense, but can you/do you see that continuing? How about if Wells eventually supplants him as the starter? Will "AZ RB1" continue to see that much love in the passing game, or do the targets nosedive if Beanie starts?

2. Given the above, what do you think the true value of whomever the #1 out there is if that trend continues? How high could whomever the #1 is there finish if they maintain the level of targets over the course of the year? Could the AZ starting RB, as a whole, give lower end top-10 numbers? Or is this just a matter of small sample size and it's too early to determine?

3. While Wells has been reasonably productive with his limited touches, it seems he could be doghouse-bound(near term) because of ball security issues. Do you think that gives Hightower a leg up on "strangleholding" the starting position there if he remains productive over, say, the next 2-3 games? Or is that stuff about Wells' fumbling overblown?

4. If one believed that Wells will eventually supplant Hightower as starter this season, is now the time to buy in an attempt to use his fumbling issues as a crowbar to potentially lower the cost? What do you see his worth as right now? "Backup for a backup" type swaps? What about Hightower? Is his role solid enough that he's worth a lower end WR2 or one of the "been-so-good-it-probably-can't-continue" wideouts like a Smith(NY) or Manningham?

Always appreciate the insights.

Pats didn't look too sharp last weekend. Is this a good chance to buy low on Brady, Moss and Welker or are we putting too much stock in 2007 numbers?

I've heard the 2010 draft is going to be a good one for fantasy purposes. Is this true? Would you move someone like Felix Jones for an Early-Mid 2010 1st rd pick?

If you guys have touched on this feel free to skip it.

Dynasty PPR - What are some good buy low players that you are very confident will outproduce what their perceived value is?

Brandon Tate - I recently read he felt healed and ready to go once his IR restrictions are up. What are your guys thoughts on him?

Oh and can we change the Daniel Jeremiah podcast from ask 5 to ask 20, thanks

WDIS Tough on the QBs and RBs this year ...

1) Big Ben or M. Ryan

2) 2 of 3 - Slaton/Jacobs/Sproles

1 pt. for every 3 receptions - rest is fairly typical scoring

Tks guys

Sigmond/Cecil, you guys are awesome. thanks for your insight. Buy low on Marshall...he seemed to fall off last year after a fast start. He had Ok yards with a few big games but 3 TDs in the first 3 games and 3 more the rest of the year. So why do you think he will step up with a lower quality QB. He is getting targets but I suppose they are lower quality targets.

would you five f.jones for marshall?

I really want to hear your take on Brady & Moss. Is it time to panic yet? I have both and my success is dependent upon their success.

Is it too early to work on a plan B? Or should I give more time for Brady to shake the rust off?

Great show guys - a couple of WDIS, PPR league:

Garrard or Sanchez (yeah my team is that bad - thankfully they're my QB2 in a start 2 league)

Evans, Hester, Royal, or Laurent Robinson at WR2 and 3?

Thanks!

ok guys, non-ppr flex. leon washington, , burleson, morgan, holt or royal(eddie)

then other league non ppr flex, felix jones, ray rice, michael bush, antonio bryant( if he plays), bobby wade

thanks guys, great show

I've enjoyed the show, thanks a lot.

But...

You devoted 700+ words to who's the Tampa Bay 3rd string QB in the second half. Like that's gonna win anyone anything.

Something of ACTUAL REAL VALUE, of weekly VITAL importance that no fantasy talking head EVER wants to talk about: Who should I be starting every week at kicker and Defense?

All the "sage" advice is that 'throw a dart at the end of the draft', 'coz your guess is as good as anyone else's, but COME ON, grow a pair, and show some actual wisdom where little on record exists? Rank the top upside plays for the next half a season for D's and K's?

Thanks guys for answering my question on air! That was awesome! Great input on your advice! Can't wait for the next show! It was great

I'll take the Brandon Tate question. Bloom has compared his skill set to Jeremy Maclin, and it's an accurate comparison. Tate is very raw as a receiver, but has great run after the catch ability and open field moves. He separates well, and gets in and out of breaks quickly. He's hard to get a clean shot on because he's so shifty. He injured his knee last year against Notre Dame in October and has been battling his way back since. His hands are a little inconsistent, but he could develop into a big play weapon for the Pats. And yes, Daniel Jeremiah is tha man!

Ive been saying Tynes is the kicker I like when asked, he's the kicker on almos all of my teams, good job, O doesnt always finish in the red zone, NYG led in kicker scoring last year.Dwise, I like the Saints going forward, with the high scoring offense and Gregg Williams coordinating the D, they should force a lot of turnovers.

WDIS Tough on the QBs and RBs this year ...1) Big Ben or M. Ryan2) 2 of 3 - Slaton/Jacobs/Sproles1 pt. for every 3 receptions - rest is fairly typical scoringTks guys
1) This ones close, but I like Ryan over Big Ben. New England's secondary is a weak point of that defense, the Pats will try to take Michael Turner out of the game, but stopping Tony G and White will be a big challenge. 2) the PPR aspect gives a slight edge to Slaton and Sproles. Again, very close, but I could see a scenario unfold where the Giants just run away with this thing, doing whatever they want to against Tampa. This could mean they put the game away early, and give more looks to Gartrell Johnson and Ahmad Bradshaw in the second half.

Sigmond/Cecil, you guys are awesome. thanks for your insight. Buy low on Marshall...he seemed to fall off last year after a fast start. The situation in Denver is messy, but the Broncos are trying to get Marshall involved early in games. He has been absent on some third down passing situations in the second half, but he is getting quality targets. Orton has targeted him deep a few times, on crossing routes over the middle, and on bubble screens. Marshall has always been known to drop a high number of passes, but he is looking lost out on the field on some occasions. Some have questioned his motivation, as it appears he is dogging it at times. Coach Josh McDaniels has stated that he won't force feed the ball to create a true #1 in Denver. Each week the team will try to exploit mismatches with the defense. Some weeks Marshall will be targeted heavily, other weeks they may want to go to Royal more - or Stokley - or Gaffney - or the tight ends. As you've seen in this thread, Marshall is available on waivers in some leagues! I would take Felix over BMarsh every day of the week.

I really want to hear your take on Brady & Moss. Is it time to panic yet? I have both and my success is dependent upon their success. Is it too early to work on a plan B? Or should I give more time for Brady to shake the rust off?
Too early to panic IMHO. Wes Welker's injury has really hurt the timing and rhythm of this offense. If he is able to play, it will help out the Patriots immensely. Brady and Galloway have a lack of chemistry, and while Julian Edelman had a good game in week 2, both Brady and Moss were frequently telling him where to line up before the snap, and there were several drops/mistimed throws where I thought to myself "Welker would've snagged that." The Patriots hate to lose, and Bellichick will right this ship before too long.

Great show guys - a couple of WDIS, PPR league:Garrard or Sanchez (yeah my team is that bad - thankfully they're my QB2 in a start 2 league)Evans, Hester, Royal, or Laurent Robinson at WR2 and 3?Thanks!
Garrard, the Texans gave up almost 450 total yards last week. Jax needs to get on the winning track.Evans and Hester, shootout potential for Buffalo v New Orleans, 0% chance of rain in Seattle and 'Hawks D will be on their heels because of Forte, I like the chances for Hester over the top.

 Because of that discussion about Josh Johnson I picked him up for the minimum waiver bid in my league, and guess what? Josh Johnson named starter for Buccaneers.

Thanks for discussing the deep issues, even if some don't see the value.
