Two years after the 2005 NFL Draft . . . (1 Viewer)

The hype machine in fantasy circles was off the chart with Benson, Brown, and Williams entering the league as Top 5 NFL Draft picks in 2005. Since then, they've ranked:

Benson: 85th and 40th

Brown: 23rd and 26th

Williams: 19th and 37th

Frank Gore (3rd round), Marion Barber (4th round), and Brandon Jacobs (4th round) did better this season.

Of the "Big 3" who would you be willing to take a chance on next year?

I think you have to take a chance on all of the above considering their current values. All could be very good value picks going into next year.

I'd take a chance on any of them. I think Brown has the best chane of recovering, but I think there are some legit obstacles each of these players have faced. It's not like they JJ-Arrington'd, I think everyone would agree that these 3 guys could produce in a better situation.

Ronnie Brown - nice combo of size/speed. Nice hands; capable pass-catcher out of the backfield. He would be the guy I'd take out of the "Big 3". I do like Gore and MB3 better than all 3 of those guys though.

Cedric Benson has looked pretty darn good when he has been given the ball. I think Jones is gone from Chicago next year and it's Benson's job. He's big, powerful and pretty quick for his size.

:thumbsup:All have burned people in the past, so it seems pretty sure all will be had for some value next year. Both Brown and Caddy are fine if healthy and depending on what happens with the starting QB. It's debatable on why, but Benson hasn't been in a starting role yet. If TJ is gone in the offseason (I doubt they'd move Benson, given the lack of value they'd get in return and a relatively high cap hit), things change. We did see more of him as the season wore on.

I'd take all 3. They have each shown spurts of great production, and they've each had multiple weeks of disappointment. However, while there are only so many Pro Bowl spots, I think all 3 can be quality fantasy forces going forward if a couple things go there way.

Brown needs Ricky to have a minimal role.

Caddy needs an O-line and some decent QB play.

Benson needs Jones to leave.
