Oh course they are. But #### Vitor. #### Machida. Put on a ### #### good fight to watch & people will want to see you.

Apparently Vitor, Machida, and Phil Davis have all called out Sonnen after winning his fight tonight.
Vitor hasn't gone to a decision in almost 6 years. His last 2 fights have been highlight reel KOs. What's not exciting about him?
Boring fight comment was aimed toward Machida.

Vitor should be banned from the sport.

i just can't get over how Vitor is allowed to use the TRT like he is, and Overeem gets raked over the coals for it. Reem is a top 5 favorite for me so i hate to see him get cut by the UFC if they go that route, but if they do, i would love to see him own Bellator and i would certainly watch more Bellator if he goes there

Dana with his thoughts on Uriah Hall. I ca't say I disagree with White

By: Jamie Penick, MMATorch Editor-in-Chief

Uriah Hall came out of The Ultimate Fighter 17 earlier this year with a ton of hype following several violent finishes while in the house. He's thus far entirely failed to live up to that hype, putting in much poorer performances against both Kelvin Gastelum and John Howard to lose his first two fights in the UFC.

Following that most recent defeat, which took place on Saturday at UFC Fight Night 26, UFC President Dana White seemed as frustrated as anyone given the hype he himself placed on Hall.

"I love Uriah Hall," White said after Saturday's post-fight press conference (via MMAJunkie.com). "I have a great relationship with this kid. He's one of the nicest human beings you'll ever meet. He's not a fighter, man."

"He was this killer that everybody was afraid of on 'TUF,'" White continued. "Then he comes in to the big show, where it all really matters and where this is going to make your livelihood and everything else, and he turns into this different person, this super-nice guy.

"He was telling me when I talked to him after 'TUF' like, 'You know, I just really like [Gastelum]. He's a really nice guy.' OK. Well that really nice guy just took every f***ing thing you ever wanted. Do you understand what I'm saying to you?"

It's that change from being in the house to what he's done in the cage that doesn't make sense to White, and he's got no idea yet whether or not Hall's got a future in the UFC.

"If I could take Brad Pickett's brain and heart and put it inside Uriah Hall's body, holy s*** there would be some damage done," White said. "Uriah Hall has all the physical attributes to be amazing. He's got speed. He's got power. He's just unbelievable. He doesn't have what it mentally takes to fight here. That was a high-five competition.

"Listen, you're a nice guy. I get it. We're not here to f***ing high five. We're not here to shake hands. You do all that s*** when the fight's over. You're here to fight... I don't know. I've got to think about this one."

i haven't seen enough of his fights one the regional scene, but i never got the impression that he was like that before TUF. I am not sure if it is a maturity thing, or something he can work on, but it will be a shame if we don't get to see him fulfill some of his potential. Have to think UFC won't release him though, Bellator and everybody else would suck him up in a a heartbeat and hope he can develop and build some confidence.

And i disagree a little with Dana, especially when you look at the 1st round. He was throwing nice crisp jabs, and was engaging well. Quite a few takedowns, but mixed it up enough, and was throwing some nasty kicks. definitely fell off between rounds, but he looked like a normal fighter in the 1st. It is just a weird thing, it isn't like he is afraid to get hit or he cowers after being attacked. he just flakes out in fights, and seems to try too hard to act relaxed. It isn't like he doesn't have a killer instinct seeing how he was killing dudes in TUF.

Certainly a good spot where the UFC could use a feeder organization to send him for a year and see if he develops more or if he just can't get over the hump

When watching fights I can easily distinguish these different styles and techniques:

Wrestling, boxing, jiu jitsu, karate, kickboxing and muay thai.

I can not distinguish the following two in fights:

1) Judo: I think I know what to look for but outside of a rare hip throw, I am not sure I see this used much

2) Dirty boxing: I know this is used a lot because the announcers are always mentioning it but I don't know what to look for it.

Any ideas on these two on what I should look for?

Most really decorated Judokas who have done well in MMA (Rousey, Karo Paryisian, Manny Gamburyian, Dong-Hyun Kim, Yoshihiro Akiyama) have a mixed bag of skills so it's hard to see a lot of the pure Judo skills outside of some of the highlight throws. Generally a very strong base, good balance, solid TDD and very strong/effective in transitions and scrambles are byproduts of a strong Judo base.

Dirty boxing is just boxing from the clinch (while holding your opponent). You see it a lot when someone has their back against the cage. Rogan was always on Couture's nuts for being one of the best at this.

Thanks. I thought that is what dirty boxing was but was not sure if it involved anything else.

Does the name "dirty" come from the fact that it is illegal to do in a boxing match?

Connor McGregor out for awhile.

McGregor’s MRI results showed a complete anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear, a medial collateral ligament (MCL) strain, and a posterior horn meniscal tear. All that damage equates to McGregor being out of action for about nine to ten months.

Sucks. Definitely recommend following him on twitter (@thenotoriousmma). Quality entertainment.

I always assumed so but I can't say I know for sure.
i think it was named that because as less refined. it is mixing it up with quick uppercuts and getting dirty in tight. that is how i always viewed it. it's hard to explain, but it is different then the sweet science

If you want to see judo, watch Yoshihiro Akiyama vs Jake Shields.

What do you think of the card on Wednesday? Some fun matches on the card. Bubba looks to be the only real big dog, alot of close lines overall. I'm drawing a blank on Melancon and Whittaker...are they recent TUF guys? Need to research a few of these guys...

Condit vs Kampmann

Cerrone vs dos Anjos

Gastelum vs Melancon

McGee vs Whittaker

Mizugaki vs Perez

Tavares vs McDaniel

---

Andrews vs Abedi

Edwards vs Thatch

Elkins vs Hioki

Head vs High

---

Cummings vs Alloway

Bowling vs Trujillo

the lines are too exciting. Before the lines were released i liked Condit and Tavares the most on the main card, but the lines unfortunately agree with that, to the point where a play on Kampmann might be worth it if it continues to move. And Whitaker is the winner of the TUF England vs. Australia season, he looked pretty good in his last fight on the Brazilian card. And all i know about Mellancon is he cost me a bunch of money. He is a Strikeforce cast-off, who isn't supposed to be real good at all, but he came out and devastated Seth Baczynski his UFC debut. He just blitzed him the whole time, and ended up KO'ing Seth at the end of the 1st round. I have to think Gastelum is ready for that and will play is smart. but the line seems to be at a good spot where i don't know if i would put money on either side. I think Baczynski is a legit guy, and he just got blasted for a full round in that fight. It seemed more like he caught Seth completely off guard, caught him with a great shot early and Seth never recovered. but it's possible he can do it again:

ETA: well that didn't work. let me throw the lines i see in your original post. got lazy and just put the favorites mostly, but it is easy enough to figure out the lines from there. I saw them at bloodyelbow, which usually grabs them from bestfightodds.com, which is often quite different from book to book

Does anyone really want to see Wanderlei v Sonnen?
after all the hype with it, strangely yes i do. I think it is obvious Wandy KOs him or Chael holds him down for awhile, but i still have a strange desire to see it
I just don't see that as very exciting. We know what Sonnen does and it's the complete opposite of what Silva does. Don't see anyway this ends well for Silva.

This. Belfort or Machida would be much more entertaining.

I don't see how Wandy wins this fight

With the horrific upgrade redesign of Yahoo sports, where is a good place to get game scores with a simple easy to read/use design. ESPN might be my best option...uggg.

that Wandy video is great, but I have a hard time seeing him beating Chael though if the fight ends up happening, especially at 185.

I was looking at the Henderson-Pettis fight card today on Sherdog and noticed this guy is on it. Russians are freaking awesome :lmao:

i just don't know what to make of Trujillo. He looked great in his first UFC fight, horrendous in his last fight against Khabib, and looked not so great in this one until he found some power. I don't know what it is, but it makes me think the Blackzillians are just a mess of a camp

Nice to see that I get FS2.

They have quality trainers there, I just think a lot of the fighters there are crap.

Trujillo seems to have all the physical tools, and has smooth stand-up, just seems to not have the mental make-up. His pouting in his fight against Khabib really showed it, but he looks like he should be better then he is. my guess is he'll be a tease for another year, and may end up in Bellator at some point

Nice sub. I figure Head's days in the UFC are over.
Head looked real good his past few fights. He ran into trouble against Mike Pyle, but most people do. Unless I am confusing him with somebody else, he had some good momentum for a bit. Not ready for any top 20 guys, but he was doing well. I also think High is a little under-rated

Holy crap. Edwards just got blitzed by the new guy.
I have been waiting for Thatch's debut for a long time. Guy has been ready for the UFC for awhile. I am glad he lived up to it. I know he doesn't have an Irish accent, but the guy's hype is a little more warranted then Mr. McGregor. He had Edwards blasted from the start. I know most of his wins have been 1st round stoppages, but hopefully he has the power in a lot of those shots too. The body shots were just filthy

Man, I guess i just don't get the whole idea of getting an autograph. I guess most UFC events are more packed then this one, because i can't remember seeing a bunch of grown men waiting as soon as a guy gets out of the cage to get him to sign his name. I get it if you are there with your son or daughter or something, but for the life of me I just don't get the idea of getting somebody's autograph as an adult. What am I missing?

I love seeing Ray Sefo as a lead man in the corner of some of these guys. that's a guy who deserves more attention, should take some from Tito and Rampage

FoTN candidate.
I don't know how that was a split decision. I thought it was pretty clear 29-28 Mizugachi. Heck i thought he may get 30-27.

And these idiots waiting for these autographs as soon as the fights are done are just getting annoying at this point. Go back to your seats and enjoy the fights idiots. Is it really that important to getting Mizugachi's autograph?
