Did Buffer really just announce Oliviera as 145 pounds? Bull####.

You don't get to come in 9 ####### pounds overweight and be called a 145'er anymore. Hoping I just misheard Buffer.

El Cucuy!!!

It's time.
My goodness do I love watching El Cucuy fight!  He clearly dominated the pace throughout with his walk down/stalk down.  I'll admit that I did get a little nervous with some of Tony's showboating in the final two rounds as RDA was still countering and swinging.  But man did he put a beating on RDA's face.  A very exciting 5 round fight and I was a bit surprised that all three judges had it 48-47 as it seemed to me more lopsided than that.

Let's hope that we get to see El Cucuy vs. CMG

It's been a long time waiting. I just want him to get his rightful shot at the belt. I dont care who it's against.

He's more deserving than Khabib. And a much more interesting fighter and a lot more money in IMO

Edit: I really don't care if Khabib is in the UFC or not personally. He wants to continue to cry about everything......cut him loose.

The card looks like a lot of fun.

Let's hope for some exciting fights and no politics. God bless.
It's an amazing card. UFC 200 was maybe the most solid card they'd ever put together on paper, top-to-bottom, and this one blows it out of the water. Only fight that doesn't do much for me is Natal/Boetsch. Evans/Kennedy looked like a (long) bathroom break too, but at least the fighters involved held some interest.

I do think this one will yield far better fights as a whole. I hope.

Yeah, Nurmey has been useless for awhile. I remember 2 years ago when he used to talk all that smack online about fighters being hurt and how nobody wanted to fight him back then as well. Then he is out for a year and a half and all he does is ##### and complain. I am really pulling for Michael Johnson this weekend. either that, or for ATT to buck up and get him a PR rep that can help him out a bit.

  I've gotten around to liking Khabib, despite my saltiness around the time of the RDA fight when he was saying "if sambo were easy it would be called jiu-jitsu" (which is a good line, really). His trash talk is stupidly simple, but I find it entertaining.

yeah, i liked that line too. And when he first came in the UFC his personality came off better because it wasn't as arrogant as it was selling fights and talking things up. Started going downhill though when he was ripping guys like Pettis, etc. for getting hurt "to avoid fighting him", then the guy is out for a real lengthy amount of time.

i think it is like the McGreggor stuff. Starts off good and healthy as they are coming up, but if left unchecked they actually start to believe everything they are saying and they can come off as delusional. I like Conner still cause i think a good bit of it is to sell fights, and obviously it works. But i know my money will be on Eddie and it is likely one of the biggest MMA bets i have had in years. Waiting until closer to the actual fight cause i predict money will keep pouring in on Conner.

And let me add, it isn't like Conner does not have a path to victory against Eddie. It should be a good fight and I think despite all of Conner's bravado he is evolving as a fighter (which is nice to see because you see other fighters as they get higher up get too comfortable). But a motivated Eddie who has been planning for this fight should be in good shape. If i were to put money on Conner, i am pretty sure i would put it on him winning by KO (can't see sub or decision), and probably in the first round or 2.

Gastelum didn't even try to weigh in today, so no Cerrone tomorrow.
He needs to move to 185 permanently and / or be given his walking papers at this point IMO. Absolutely ridiculous, completely unprofessional, and continues to screw over his opponents and the company. 205 can absorb a loss like this without a problem, but this would be a much bigger deal if this were the main on a fight pass card or the co-main on a regular PPV.

Eddie's long-standing tradition of starting slow and getting his bell rung early before brawling back would have me laying off of him in this one, wager-wise. I agree that the longer it goes, the better for Alvarez, but with McGregor he probably isn't going to survive to let his gas tank advantage come into play if he gets clipped hard in the first few minutes.

Et tu, Thiago:

Also of note was Thiago Alves (162.6) missing weight. His opponent, Jim Miller, was reportedly on weight but had to come in within five pounds of his opponent so the New York commission would allow the fight to continue. Miller did just that with a tally of 157.6.

Let's contrast Gastelum and Miller for a moment. One can't make weight. One can make it down to the tenth of a pound.

He needs to be cut. #### him. I wanted to see Cerrone.

He's a promising young fighter, but I agree completely. It might serve to get his head out of his ### too like it did for Rumble, who has turned out soooooo much better now that he isn't killing himself trying to make a ridiculous weight cut.

This.

It's UFC's fault for even allowing him back at 170 to begin with. The guy just isn't cut to be a professional fighter in the game's top organization. When he wants to take his job seriously and can perform elsewhere, can always bring him back.

Edit: Please look at his current wiki page. :lmao: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kelvin_Gastelum

  Terrible. Alves is a repeat offender too IIRC, and he's near the end of the line anyway. He's probably gone.
Yep, Alves had trouble with 170. Somehow he convinced himself and Mike Dolce that he could make 155. Dumb.

Gastelum, heir to the Cake Ruediger throne.

I guess Dana already came out and said that Gastelum won't be fighting at 170 anymore, which is probably smart. No idea how you can mess a weight cut up so badly that you don't even show up. As for Alves, I don't think he's in danger of being cut or anything like that. He's 33 years old, a good test for other up-and-comers, and generally puts on good fights. Before this incident, the last time he'd missed weight was actually in 2010, when he weighed in at 171.5 and couldn't cut the final half pound he needed. He'd been good with the weight issue since then.

Is it too late to find a replacement to fight cowboy? They can still opt to weigh in tomorrow at 4pm, right?
Looks like Matt Brown vs Cerrone for 206. Doesn't really move the needle for  cowboy though and that is the real shame here. 155 and 170 divisions are  stacked right now.

My best guesses for 205:

-Alvarez (I see him outworking McGregor on the fence/ground if he can weather the early storm)

-Thompson (Superior striker with a style and pace more suitable for going 5 rounds)

-Jedrzejczyk (Man, Kowalkiewicz has looked good, but she'll probably have to outstrike Joanna and that's a tall order)

-Weidman (Romero is crazy powerful, but Weidman is more technically sound)

-Tate (Pennington is tough as nails, but I still think Tate's a tier above her, despite looking awful against Nunes)

-Edgar (Just a better fighter than Stephens, whose only edge is raw punching power)

-Nurmagomedov (Screw the anti-Khabib backlash! He's awesome!)

-Natal (Eh, Natal bores the crap outta me, but he's more well-rounded than Boetsch)

-Luque (Both guys have had really nice showings lately, but I'll homer it up)

-Alves (It's weird 'cause I sort of see Miller as washed up in my mind, but he's actually still quite good. I'll take Alves though)

-Chookagian (Ugh, from the one fight of hers I've seen, I hate her style, but she's very good at it)

I could see myself whiffing on every single one of these picks, by the way.

This is old info, but I just found out that Tecia Torres and Raquel Pennington are married.

Why fight when them two dames can get rich off a webcam? hubba hubba

You mean like taping submission videos together instead of separate?

You're probably right.

so i think the UFC is not quite mainstream yet. I have been super enthused for this card, and tried to get neighbors and friends to get together to watch. out of like 40 some people, i got 1 guy who is interested  :sadbanana:
