Usman DOMINATING.

Happy to see this. FINALLY someone taking it to Woodley. To me, he's the Tony Ferguson of the division. Woodley's got a punchers shot but Usman looks like the hungrier fighter..

Woodley's getting absolutely worked. Usman looks so fresh. Woodley's gotta go for broke. He looks dead out there.

I don't blame the crowd at all. I realize people find Woodley boring too, but despite the dominance, Usman's style has always been ugly as hell.

  Then don't watch.

Enjoying the hell outta this fight. Usman's worked the whole fight. Completely Dominating. At least 2 10-8 Rounds IMO. Woodley's been absolute ####. Done Zero. Like most of his fights lately.

Good. Didn't like Championship Woodley...he became too safe and boring.

Usman just destroyed him.
:goodposting:

Good god....no rematch. That was one of the most dominating 5 round performances by a challenger in championship history. He completely destroyed Woodley at his own game.

I can't exactly know a fight will be crap before I watch it, regardless of the fighters involved.

Glad you enjoyed it.

WTF Smith looks like he's given up after that cut.

And overall just appears happy just being in the fight. Like he realizes he's completely outclassed.

Cody Garbrandt and that fight IQ. And that lack of a chin. Oof.

Oh, that Lawler stoppage. I thought he was out too. Bummer.

Not sure if Marc Goddard has taken a body shot before. What a terrible job he did in Woodley / Usman. His worst performance ever.

Usman was better than I ever thought he could be.

Jones has to be the most-relaxed fighter ever. That takedown at 3:30 in the 4th was straight fire.

I can't believe Nevada hasn't adopted the new rules. Insanity. I can believe Jones didn't know what rules he was fighting under. Insanity.

I love Anthony Smith, but he looked like a dude who got a title shot after a couple of good punches against one good fighter. Completely overmatched. His complete lack of offense made a boring affair.

Completely agree.

I bet it has happened but I can't recall.

Has any reigning UFC champ lost his next three fights in a row like Garbrandt?
My first thought was Lidell, but after checking he had that win vs Wandy in there to not get three losses in a row after Rampage got him.  Lidell did lose 5 of his next 6 though.

What's insane to me is that there isnt some way to get unified rules...y'know, unified. It's crazy that these fighters have to adjust their game depending on what state the fight is in, and remember this #### after getting punched in the face for 20 minutes.

jesus, Usman did not win performance of the night bonus.  That is outrageous.
Have you ever watched Dana White's Tuesday night contender series?

If you didn't finish the fight, Uncle Dana ain't impressed. It's why he thought Woodley was boring because he played it safe and smart. You have to go for the KO to be cool.

Love,

Cody Garbrandt

Props to Herb for not stopping the Askren/Lawler fight when Lawler was just laying a whopping on Askren.  I thought for sure that Askren was done.  He ate some absolute bombs.  I had no problem with the stoppage.    I thought for sure Lawler was out.   Major props to Lawler for handling that with as much class as can possibly be expected.

Jones will always be on my mount rushmore of dbags, but good lord that guy has to be the GOAT.  His offensive arsenal is just on another level.

I'm really excited to see Johnny Walkers career.  It seems like he just fought not to long ago, I guess you can do that when you're not taking any damage.

LMAO at Garbrandt.  TJ broke his soul.  He will never be on the top again.  He has talent, but isn't smart enough to fight with the glass jaw he has.  He truly is a mini-meat head. It was evident the way TJ could so easily get under his skin on the TV show.  Uriah probably just used the guy as his attack dog and Cody is so dumb he made the beef personal.  The way he was winding up and unloading 🤣

Wild welcome for Askren.  I would have loved to see that go longer but I think Herb Dean made the right call.  It sounds like everyone thought his arm went limp.  Someone mentioned a thumbs up by Robbie, which I will have to go look for, but as a vet Robbie should have been looking more alive.  Especially considering where Herb was positioned.  At first I thought Ben was holding the submission too long, but he may have known he wasn't out.

Colby was right about Woodley Usman.  Snoozefest.  Now we see why Tyron was dodging Colby, it would have been the same thing.  Despite his wrestling pedigree, Tyron can't handle the constant wrestling pressure from a bigger guy.  Tyron is small welterweight.

Jon Jones is a dirty fighter.  He was whopping this butt all night, and was selecting knees there against the fence for a minute or so. He had to have on his mind "illegal knee" and he still threw one to the head.  Props to Anthony Smith for going the distance and not taking the DQ.  I think he quickly realized he couldn't crack the Jon Jones lock.  Bones just has such a long reach and strikes so we'll, that nobody has been able to figure him out.

Askren Usman is the fight to make but it sounds like Colby is already going to get the shot, which is hard to argue against.  Usman isn't going to be able to do that to Covington.  That could make it more of a stand-up fight.
