Sad to see Tony's career ending like this.  I think he is better than he has looked and can still have another few years fighting top 10 opponents.  The problem is I don't see him beating any of these top 5 guys.  He definitely has lost a step, and he is getting rag dolled.  His jiujitsu is completely ineffective against top guys.  Khabib would have smashed him.  Connor, Dustin, Hooker would all make his face look like Gathje did.  Chandler slam him into oblivion.

He would still be a hell of a gate keeper in the 155 division, and I'm watching any card he is on.

Props to Beniel, I like his attitude, and he seems like a very down-to-earth guy.  I like Tony who appears to be on Mars at times. Lol.

Justin is next then Dustin/Connor winner fights that person
I don't think that is guaranteed.  Olivera already mentioned that Conor needs to beat Dustin first.  Imo, if Connor wins Gathje gets passed over.  A rematch vs Dustin is always a good fight, but Justin will & should be pissed if he doesn't get the shot.  Chandler should get the loser of Dustin vs Conor, or Beniel.

Ariel Helwani is leaving ESPN in a few days.

He was offered a pay cut by ESPN, which I think is absolutely insane as a content creator and THE MAN in MMA media. And as far as salary there, wasn't close to other names (with less value IMO). I subbed to ESPN+ due to his shows there in large part.

On side note, heading to UFC 263 on Saturday. Pretty good card with 2 title fights + Nate Diaz/Edwards. Great to be able to go to events again.

I'm interested to see where Ariel goes.  I was never a fan of ESPN'S involvement in UFC, because this is the type of stuff that happens.  They centralize, control, and then squeeze out guys like Ariel.  Fortunately there are ways to survive without ESPN as a content creator, but I assume it will be an uphill battle now that he will be likely competing against him.

Yeah he's going to be just fine. I'm just in quite a bit of shock they'd ask him to take a pay cut as a revenue generator/content creator. Amazing really considering he's not insanely paid. (I get Dana probably -- again -- had a hand in some) but Ariel is #1 is MMA media. Number 2 isn't even in his rearview mirror.

Believe I read they wanted him to take a 5-10% paycut from 500k. That's just insane IMO considering he's giving you at least 3 shows/week for content. And I'm sure could be more if they asked.

He's already said he's got his next move lined up already. And that isn't surprising at all. Shocked ESPN would let him get away TBH

Yeah this has Dana's hamfists all over this.  I really like Ariel.

Unlike many personalities (that're paid A LOT more than Ariel), Ariel doesn't need the ESPN platform. He built himself long before.

It's rumored that sports betting platforms are interested in him. (Which makes a ton of sense).

He's going to blow that 400-500k offer out of the water. (And deservedly so IMO)

I'm wondering if he ends up with Dan Le Batard at Meadowlark Media, sponsored by Draft Kings.  He has a good relationship with Dan but he may pull more money from one of the other betting platforms.

Holy crap, any one watching?

7th second knock out for a guy who was called up on short notice for his first UFC fight,  over Matt Frevola and then he blows out his knee celebrating.

Wow

Paul Craig has gotten a hell of a lot more mileage out of his UFC career than I ever thought possible seeing his first fight.
