His head is too ####### big. Eddie never got going right in this one, and i'm not sure who takes McGreggor at this point.

Yea, McGregor never even seemed to be threatened besides that slip at the start.  Did he improve a great deal or is Nate Diaz that much stronger of an opponent than Alvarez?

Let's not go overboard. He tapped to Diaz and then narrowly edged him in the rematch. He's excellent, but Nurmy would ragdoll him.

that first shot had Eddie out cold on his feet. he never recovered from it. But yeah, this is one he is going to kick himself over for a long time.

Completely different fighters. Alvarez almost always gets rocked early.

I think this improvement came after the loss to Nate. He got serious about energy conservation and cardio and take down defense and on and on. I love Eddie but always found him overrated.

if he can lay Eddie out like that, i think Nurmy is absolute toast standing up. If Nurmy doesn't get him down immediately every round, it won't take a ton for McGreggor to land on him

Very true.

But we don't need to proclaim McGreggor as unbeatable at lightweight after he splits against Diaz and beats a very hittable Alvarez.

I hope so. Dude's head is going to be unbearable to deal with. He basically owns the UFC now so at least will be interesting to see what they do now that he has 2 belts.

And I don't know if I have the balls to bet against Conner again

I can't stand Connor - but wow, the ease with which he won this fight was ridiculous. The left is a crazy weapon. Nurmy would be awesome to see next.

As much as I dislike him, Connor sure backs up his #######ishness pretty darn well.

Conor said it best. Eddie had no business in there with him. Went as expected. Eddie kept 20 feet away, he lounges in and getting caught repeatedly. Eddie got paid. Good for him. Now let's move on to more interesting fights with guys that'll give Conor a fight.

Eddie has absolutely no business in there against the Conors, El Cucuys, Barboza's of the world. Not ever going to end well for him. He's a child compared to those guys.

I gotta think conner's move now is to go after WW belt. He had no interest defending 145 why he would he want to stick around and just defend 155. It would be really dumb, but I think his confidence is so big I can't see him being happy to sit around at either 145 or 155

a wonderboy-mcgreggor fight would be fun

How would CMG fare against the welterweights?

I think Woodley would stupidly bang and not use his wrestling advantage, CMG would rock Lawler,  Wonderboy would be a great stylistic matchup, and Demian Maia's grappling would CMG some serious problems.

Sorry in advance for the formatting, it was a quick copy and paste from ufc.com.

Before this fight I would have laughed and said no way. Now, I don't know what to think.

I just remember the insanity around UFC 200 and Conner. The UFC is f'd

Conor isn't fighting anyone but Woodley/GSP next if he fights at 170. Nothing to gain fighting the Wonderbreads, Lawlers of the world. He can make the same money fighting Joe Blow with nothing at stake.

I'd love a Connor - Cowboy showdown. I think that would be awesome. Connor the 145/155 champ vs. the 155 pd bad boy that jumped to 170. It won't happen  :(

Connor will now vacate 145 I'm guessing. So he sits at 155 as the champ. He can run through Ferguson &  Nurmagomedo. What's next?

The second belt they brought in the ring at the end of yhe fight was not Connor's.   No one could find Connor's belt so someone took Woodley's.   That must have been an interesting conversation in the back to get that belt :)

This is an interesting choice of words.

After the fight in the press conference Connor said that he is taking some time off for the birth of his kid.  He said if the Ufc wants him to fight again, he wants a piece of ownership of the company referring to the 4 billon dollar sale.

i love how people keep doubting CM and he keeps silencing them ....hes a beast....hes in a league of his own...pound for pound the best fighter in the game
