Uhh, don't get up on stage and dance with Afroman..... (1 Viewer)

Big ups to Afroman for still cashing them checks.

(Though I don't condone his specific behavior referenced in the OP)

He should be grateful someone even wants to go to his shows. He hasnt been relevant for nearly 20 years.

I hope his career drops out after this inexcusable behavior.

So is his story that he thought someone was coming up behind him to do him some kind of harm? I'm not buying it, but I guess that is what they are saying calling it a "reflex"???

That was really bizarre. Did he honestly not see who or what was behind him and just threw a punch? I can't see any reason a man would hit a woman in that situation. I suppose there are crazy people fans that hurt "famous people". Monica Seles got stabbed, Dimebag got shot and killed. Too bad the video cuts off so quick, I am curious how he reacted after that.

Yeah that is the only possible reasoning I can think of...maybe he had been having trouble with an ex or a stalker (i know, i know...it's afroman) or had receive threats or something like that.

I want to assume he didn't realize it was a chick and he just thought some smart ### guy was messing with his gig and he decided to unload.

Not that it makes it right but kinda like a streaker on a field.

There is a version out there that goes a little longer. Afroman kinda throws his shoulders back in a manner that says "that's right". Then some other guy (presumably with that girl in some capacity) climbs up on stage, looks at Afro, puts his hands in a manner to suggest he's not there to fight, then chases after the girl who has exited stage left.Gotta be more to this...

I'm clearly in the minority, but watching that, I don't think he had any idea someone got up on stage. She went up and started dancing next to him and looked to brush up against his backside, and he just turned around and swung. More than most of us would have done, surely, but you can't just come up and start touching someone like that especially in that situation. I really don't think he had any idea that was a woman.

Serious question, if that was a guy doing the exact same thing as that woman, would there be the same outrage?

Maybe there isn't a good excuse and he shouldn't get the benefit of doubt. It just is what it appears.

Chick's gonna get a nice payday.
I'm no attorney but she came onstage. Who is going to pay her? Afroman probably got <$500 for that gig. Due has no jack. Venue? They have insurance, but what insurance company is going to pay some drunk chick who decides it's a good idea to hop onstage?

Reading Youtube comments (don't know why I bothered) but 1 guy says 3 people were asked to get off stage prior and woman was the only one that didn't.

TMZ has a longer clip of the video where Afroman clearly sees the girl before she starts dancing behind him.

First video

In that case it looks like he used reasonable force

It was more like he pushed her by her head right in to the corner of that stage drum riser, looked like she took a pretty good shot to the underarm area.

At one point she was completely off the ground

yeah minority as in you yourself brohan what he did is crap and he is lucky the crowd did not get up and make it right for her take that to the bank

I cant believe some of you are making excuses for this piece of trash. If he "didnt know it was a woman", surely he did after the fact....ya know, before he resumed playing.

I get that he was upset with people being on the stage, but this video debunks the idea that he didn't know it was a woman.

Thank God she didn't hit her head on the edge of that drum riser. The GIF angle is scary.
