Unfounded RUMOR: TO Re-injures Hamstring (1 Viewer)

From KFFL.

Todd Archer, of the Dallas Morning News, reports Dallas Cowboys WR Terrell Owens (hamstring) reported additional soreness after Friday's practice, Aug. 18, and QB Drew Bledsoe, who will start against the New Orleans Saints Monday, Aug. 21, said he thought Owens' hamstring was tightening up after Saturday's morning practice, Aug. 19. "I'm excited to get on the field with him. But at the same time, Bill (head coach Parcells) has always been pretty steadfast in saying if you're not practicing the whole week, you're not playing," Bledsoe said. "I remember that from way back. And he's still trying to get all the way healthy. The big thing is to make sure he's ready for the regular season, so when the games start for real, he's out there."

I have said it before, "As a 49er fan, it was so worth it to go through the 2-14 and 4-12 seasons to get rid of this cancer"And to the Cowboys :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: You are getting everything you deserve for taking him
Are you saying that you'd rather be losing without TO than winning with him? If so, that's pretty idiotic.
Why?
Because as a lifelong fan of a team, it seems to be stupid to not want to have someone that helps the team win on the team especially since it's not like the guy is a child molester or a murderer.

He wouldn't have played with the Niners anymore anyway...He had burned so many bridges that nobody wanted him back and he didn't want to come back. He thinks he is above the team and it is not worth it...Even if TO had played, the Niners would have at best been 6-10 instead of 2-14

Sorry, count me among the idiotic then. As a long time SF homer, I wholly agree with the statement "As a 49er fan, it was so worth it to go through the 2-14 and 4-12 seasons to get rid of this cancer." The turmoil this guy caused week to week, the mouthy egotistical comments to the media, the embarrassing tantrums toward QBs and coaches, left such a bad taste in the mouths of everyone here that yes, losing was preferable to seeing the creep in the news every day. I'm so happy he's been someone else's problem the last 3 years, and if he blows up the Cowboys, they deserve what they get because they were too stupid to learn the lessons of others. Also, TO has not been on a fantasy team of mine for years, and he never will be again, even if he's available with the last pick in the draft.

Some people like to identify with an organization, rather than the organization's clothing. Getting rid of someone who doesn't represent the values one shares with the organization is a net positive, unless your values are to "win at all costs."

Winning is not everything; it is far better to play the game squarely and lose than to win at the sacrifice of an ideal. --Andy Smith (Cal football coach, 1916-1926)
Andy Smith had a .799 winning percentage for his career; Cal was undefeated from 1920-1924. It is possible to run a principled program and still succeed on the field.

"Some of us will do our jobs well and some will not, but we will be judged by only one thing-the result." -Vince Lombardi
While no Andy Smith, you may have heard of Coach Lombardi. I believe they named a trophy after him or something.

You want some more Lombardi quotes?

Confidence is contagious. So is lack of confidence.
(So, be sure to slag your quarterback in the press)Others:
If you can accept losing you can't win. If you can walk you can run. No one is ever hurt. Hurt is in your mind. Individual commitment to a group effort - that is what makes a team work, a company work, a society work, a civilization work. Mental toughness is many things. It is humility because it behooves all of us to remember that simplicity is the sign of greatness and meekness is the sign of true strength. Mental toughness is spartanism with qualities of sacrifice, self-denial, dedication. It is fearlessness, and it is love. Teamwork is what the Green Bay Packers were all about. They didn't do it for individual glory. They did it because they loved one another.
Vince Lombardi would not have put up with TO's crap for one instant.

i don't get the hate for PFT.. they call it "rumor".. they are right and wrong, and enjoy the insight... I fully understand that they are just opinion and conjecture.. not much different than any other personal blog out there..
People like credible sources. A website full of rumors that are wrong half the time, isn't considered to be a credible source. That's why people don't like them. Are the rumors interesting? Sometimes. Sometimes they're even right. But it's not a credible source for facts on a consistent basis.
Ding ding.
So would you rather have your information first, but be based in rumor and make your own decision? Or would you rather have your information later but correct most of the time?

depends on the type of information. for injury rumors? i'd rather be later but confirmed to be correct.
