Unsportsmen like, excessive celebration etc. (1 Viewer)

I saw Mike McKenzie get a flag for unsportsmen like for having a conversation with TO last night.

I don't believe I have seen a flag thrown for the Lambeau leap (clearly excessive celebration). What I am missing? There should be some kind of uniformed standard, it looks like these refs are making it up as they go along.

The McKenzie one was taunting. He kinda went out of his way to talk to TO.

I believe the uniform standard is that you aren't allowed to do "premeditated" celebrations with teammates or use props. I suppose the Lambeau Leap doesn't qualify. For the record, I am 100% against all unsportsmanlike penalties.

The leap has been going on for years I think that probably should qualify it as premeditated. You can get a penalty for sticking the ball under his shirt and simulating a pregnancy (Brandon Jacobs) but flying into seats full of people is ok. I know it sounds like I'm picking on the Packers but really that is the most flagrant act that I can think of that doesn't draw a penalty. Some of these ridiculous calls such as the McKenzie flag really take away from the validity of the intent of the rule.

The thing that got me was that TO initiated the trash talking and continued right up until Mckenzie got flagged. Admittedly, only McKenzie, TO, and the ref knew the content of the conversation, but it did seem ridiculous to flag McKenzie.Speaking of unsportsmanlike calls, Parcells look was priceless after he was flagged for throwing out the challenge flag within the final two minutes of the half.

The Man is becoming to big a part of the game.
 Anybody else think the more rules they pass supposedly defining things more carefully, the more discretion the refs seem to have to do whatever the hell they want? And btw, is there a ref in the league that knows what the parameters for a crackback block are? Its starting to seem like every time a ref sees a hit they just dont feel right about, they throw the flag first and figure out what they can call for later. Otherwise whats with the freaking ref huddles? Trying to cover their own asses if you ask me.
