US Goalkeeper Tim Howard Scores from ~100yds out (1 Viewer)

If people are wondering why Timmy does not seem to celebrate the goal, it is because he had a similar one scored on him years ago and knows how bad it sucks for the opposing keeper.

Only 4 keepers have ever scored a goal in the history of the EPL and two were Americans, Howard and Brad Friedel.

Friedel's goal was much more conventional

Friedel had reason to celebrate, Howard, not so much.

Friedel celebrated too much IMO. There was actually still a few seconds left on the clock after he scored and the opposing team came right back and scored on him and won the game 3-2.

Pretty cool, but it would have been more impressive if he didn't give up 2 goals and the lead just a few minutes later.

Tim Howard didn’t deserve to be on the losing side in Salvador on Tuesday.

The U.S. national team ‘keeper put in one of the best goalkeeping displays the World Cup has ever seen. He made 16 saves, which is the most in a single WC game since 1966 and since records began.

Howard was immense. Time and time again he thwarted the Belgian attack with save after sprawling save. The Everton goalkeeper elevated his status from one of the world’s top 10 goalkeepers, to perhaps in the top three. Maybe even the best.

He was that good vs. Belgium.

Absolutely awesome today.

Howard went into beast mode yesterday, and unfortunately, his team couldn't capitalize on it. Still, he's not to blame for the loss.

Yep, Howard was just completely awesome. It was a shooting gallery, not much he could do about it.
