US Men's National Team (9 Viewers)

Lots of terrible touches by the US, but it's not been a problem due to much superior athleticism.  They won't be able to do that against a team with decent midfield talent.  That #### would let Mexico get great looks.

Dempsey needs to sit IMO.  His touch and pace is gone.  He's got grit and that gives the USMNT some swagger, but it's not enough IMO.  I'd rather see Nagbe on the pitch in some role.

I agree with the Yedlin talk...

Castillo has made some nice runs from LB also. I would love to see him nail down LB so Fab can play further up the pitch.

Castillo is junk from what I've seen.  Playing better today, but I think he gets turned inside out by better opposition.

As much as I dislike the fact that the US has to play Beckerman, he's the best player to calm down the center of the pitch excellent relief valve and smart passes in tight spaces.

Hey guys, sorry I'm late. I ordered a Guatemalan off of the Internet to sit and watch the game with me. I've spent the last hour screaming "YAAAAAAAA-HOOOOOOO!" and bending over in front of him yelling "NOW YOU EAT FARTS!"  I'm not sure how much he understands but he looks sad.

I've got about 30 more minutes with him before Renzo from Colombia arrives for the next game. I've been drinking Wild Turkey 101 straight from the bottle for the last hour. His bandeja paisa-eatin' ### is in for a real treat.

USA! USA! USA! Ohhhhh say can you seeeeeee?

BS call! Finlay denied his first US goal on some horse sh#t refereeing. Criminal. I am furious. I think Carlos here is getting himself a meat helmet for that.

After giving JK so much crap about playing players out of position, I have to say he got it right tonight as most players played a position much closer to what their they do at their clubs game in and game out.

It was good to see Pulisic out there if for nothing else to give some youth to the team.

It is a bit disconcerting how we still seem to be so dependent on the older players but if Yedlin can keep this level of play up it really should give JK many more options now especially once Fab comes back, who should be a bog upgrade over Super Assist Man Zardes.

How does Columbia have everybody forward AND everybody back??? I keep waiting for the US to get a counter but every time they do there are 15 Columbians sitting in the box.  (of course as I type they almost spring one, but...)

This U-23 team is small and slow, but at least they're extremely unskilled.
This team would be a lot more impressive with Brooks (size), Yedlin(speed), and Pulisic(skill) playing for them.

And that does not even take into account very good players like Rubin and CV being hurt.

So, I turned off the last game after the second goal and I was struck this game by both how we never should lose to a team that poor and how dependent we are on a 28 and 33 year old.

Still, it's always a thrill to see the win tonight and we should survive until the hex.

I am also amazed thatt we're tied with Columbia at this point.  They're so much better at the u23 level

Cheer up Cafeteros.  If there's one country where they handle own goals in big international games with grace and understanding, its Colombia.
