US Men's National Team (12 Viewers)

I have to tell you, I am ambivalent on GGG but if we wasted all this ****ing time just to turn around and rehire him, I am going to run amuck with a meat cleaver.....
I am not ****ing around guys

The one thing I would say is that maybe a 6 month gap was necessary or at least helpful after all the drama and pain. It would have been very difficult to just extend his contract immediately after the World Cup. I think the passage of time has healed some wounds, dulled the emotions somewhat and maybe wouldn’t be so difficult now.

Is it unreasonable that I want the Pulisic to Milan deal to go through just because I think he needs a reunion with his Beard Daddy?
Not at all. Not only does CP and Giroud seem to have natural football chemistry, but you'd get the added benefit of questioning your sexuality ever time you watched a Milan game. Win-win.

I‘ve read that he’s prepared to take a pay cut which is good because his current salary is about €2mil more than Milan’s highest paid player (Bennecer) and €2.5 more than Leao.

This is very likely true for the players but I can assure you the "fans" are even angrier and more emotional now than they were in January.

It is going to be the biggest  event ever if/when they rehire GGG. All I can say is I am thankful we have a non violent fan base....

One thing I have to acknowledge is that I appear to have been completely wrong in thinking the players would have lost trust in GGG after he went public.

The fact that they did not (at least publically) may indicate how wrong everyone felt Gio was in the petulance.

Yeah if people are okay with it being GGG, I don't get why people would be all that upset about it not being right away. We took a shot at some much better coaches. They rejected us. We wanted to find someone better, but ultimately if we can't, oh well. At least we tried, that's better to me than just signing him right away and never knowing if the big names we went after might've said yes.

Enjoying the meltdown from the news that the USSF has interviewed Dolo

My favorite are the people who think he has no knowledge of Europe. lol .... You can't even make up how dumb the twitter fan base is.

I am just happy some one is getting interviewed and that the process is starting even if Dolo may be one cycle too soon.

by the way, I noticed you used past tense..has he already been interviewed or is he going to be interviewed? It is unclear from what I have seen online.

I'm not sure either. I considered going back and checking to be accurate but concluded that I was too lazy. Sorry.

I did a double take and then realized that graphic is just the top 5 Fulham players. Antonee was 19th overall in the league, Ream 33rd.
Same. Have to imagine Rodri is up there for most touches.

Ream would have been higher if not for his late injury.

Rodri was second only to Lewis Dunk.

The coup de grace on this whole thing will be when Gio Reyna stans for Berhalter, "he made me grow up and I'm grateful for it."

Heads would literally explode.

I saw a guy online suggesting Sebastian Berhalter could be getting a look as he's apparently started a few games and is playing well for Vancouver. Can hardly imagine the reaction from Beerholder if he got a call-up from his dad.

Is Paramount+ the only place the game is on? I don't get this so I may have to find a streams some where. Hopefully one of the Spanish stations is carrying the game.

Have to say, I think the Adams injury is sort of fortunate in a way. It kind of forces us to figure out if some combo of Weston, Yunus, and Luca can play in a double-pivot or if Aidan can step up and be the presumptive back-up as a 6.

I’d rather be answering those questions now than later.

[sigh] broken record alert.....it would be really nice to have the real coach in place for this summer to help answer his own questions based on what formation he wants to use.

A total of up to 8 games this summer (and maybe a 9th if there is a friendly) that will be missing the new coach. It will take us well into 2024 before we play that many again :(

The Revs made their youngest ever home grown signing today in 15 year old Peyton Miller. Miller has been getting good minutes at Revs 2 this year and has already been called up to the US U17's.

Miller has been mostly used as a LB at Revs 2 but was a top scorer in the Revs academy when he played up front with 25 goals in 28 games at the U15 level.

The intent is for him to stay on Revs 2 for the rest of this season and then join the main roster in 2024.

I am looking forward to the game Thursday night.

For maybe the first time ever in this current era we will have two players who can make great runs to get in behind (Weah and Balogun) along with two players that can exploit that skill with a killer ball in Pulisic and Reyna. Reyna at the 10 seems to be his best fit for this team, especially if his restarts his development curve this year.

Crocker has apparently interviewed more than 10 people for the USMNT coaching position, including candidates from the US, England, France, Germany, Spain, and Central America.

The sources for the article won't identify the candidates, but we can surmise that maybe Pelligrino Mattarazo would count as a candidate from Germany. Of course, Jogi Low would also qualify. The Central American candidate is almost certainly Hugo Perez, IMO. Don't know whether Vieira would count as from England or France.

Certainly looking forward to the nations league.

Gold cup roster is ROUGH. Just 5 or 6 mind blowing inclusions.

The only saving grace is that no matter how many goals he bangs in against the minnows, the arrival of Balogun eliminates any chance of Jesus getting called into an A team roster.

looks like Dolo is not one of the American's who interviewed

Head coach Steve Cherundolo on the recent #USMNT head coaching rumors: "The reports are completely fabricated and false. That's all I can say about that. I'm committed to LAFC and I plan on being here a long time."
