US Men's National Team (11 Viewers)

I mean, I don’t know the coaching solution to guys not being able to control the ball and getting dispossessed easily. Pulisic is just playing for free kicks. Scally can’t complete simple entry passes. McKennie is having one of those weird *** games. I think they’ll probably equalize, but this is a player problem.

I think its a little of both.

Jamaica look much more organized and playing their game - admittedly its a lot easier to sit behind and hit on the break, but all of their players seem to be on the same page - while we don't look like we have ever trained together.

Outside of the 1st 10, 15 minutes where they were pressing high, I don't think Jam look that organized tbh. US is carving them up... Until they shut the bed with the final pass or ****.

There's just no movement in the final third. I don't know if it's a coaching thing or not, but they are all just standing around next to the back line of Jamaica as the ball keeps cycling around. That will never work.

No diagonal runs or movement at all. But we see these players do it for their clubs. I just don't get it.

The back 4-5 have to do something. Take the space until you're shut down. Split the lines with a pass. Draw the near defender, then dish. You can't just stand in spot and pass it back and forth under no pressure.

They're making those runs... Gio to Tillman almost worked. It's just that nobody else has had the touch to complete the pass.

They need to move the ball quicker.

Honestly... This Jam team is bad. Move the ball quicker and don't **** the bed with the final touch

If you really think this is a bad Jamaica team - they have been better prepared to play their game than the US has been to play their style.

I was reading something on Berhalter earlier this week, and the suggestion was that he is perhaps too detail-oriented for a national team - given the lack of training time. Maybe it's better he goes back to an MLS side. But, no idea who would be a better candidate, so I don't expect a change.

I haven't seen this is great prep or game planning by JAM. They got a feel early goal, and have relied on the US to pass through them and then either foul them or have the US screw the pooch in the final third.

Parking the bus for the last 50 minutes isn't really better preparation.

We are seeing different things.

Yes - lots easier to pack the defense - but they have done it. US really did not have many good opportunities at all - lots of possession, but no room to do anything.

I see that as Jamaica staying organized and playing their game, and playing it better than the US>

Going from one end of the field to the other and winning a corner in about 2.5 seconds, with the clock completely out, and then scoring off the corner is insane.

If at any point the US had gone sideways during that move upfield, I'm convinced the ref blows. Being so direct saved them.

I assume we've covered the fact that Chris Richards looked like he was standing still 1 v 1 with the Jamaican attacker at midfield? That was scary slow. If that's his usual MO, he drops several rungs in my book.
