USA Today's Top 40 Fantasy RBs (1 Viewer)

A couple of thoughts regarding these rankings:

What exactly did LJ do to drop to 4th? It would be a mistake to think he's broken down after 1.5 seasons. People seem to forget that LT had almost as many touches (451 rushes/recpetions 2002) as LJ and he didn't break down.

Gore looks good but he's not RB3.

Parker is way too high.

Rudi is way too high.

Brown is way too high.

Addai is about right.

Maroney should be higher.

Alexander at 14 is mind boggling.

Parker is way too high.Rudi is way too high.
Parker is ranked 6th and ended last year 5th. Rudi is ranked 8th and finished the past 3 years ranked 8th, 7th, and 9th. Not sure how that translates into "way too high."
You're right on their finish but I do not think they will be that high this year. I was way wrong on Parker last year and I may be again. "Way too high" is probably the wrong wording now that I think about it.

Why would Parker not do as well as last year? The Steelers are going to run the ball and his only competition is Davenport.

This goes back to last year when I felt he was not top a 12 RB. I may very well be wrong on him like I was last year. I was surprised he did as well as he did. It's also possible I will change my position on him as time goes on. I need to understand what impact, if any, the coaching changes will have.

3. Frank Gore, 49ers- - The inconvenient truth for the three teams that drafted a running back in the top-five of the 2005 Draft (Miami, Chicago, Tampa Bay) is that the total package lasted until pick 65. Sounds like I wrote that one.
only problem:Norv Turner is gone. Don't underestimate his departure, and what it means to this offense, particulary Gore and the running game and/or the further development of Alex Smith. Turner is one of the BEST offensive coaches in the NFL, and apparently, the Niners are going to replace him with a QB's coach or WR coach?good luck.IMO, a new offensive coordinator is potentially more damaging to Gore and his 2007 stats, thnn last year's 416 carries are to LJ.
