I previously thought like this too. But the ignore function is actually much better. You don't have to scroll which on mobile is awesome. It is good on non-mobile as well, but I love the board much more since putting a few bad apples on ignore.

The ignore function is just a great way to optimize the message board experience. There is a lot of content to wade through here, so it's really useful to filter out the crap from those posters who consistently bring nothing valuable to the board. Also with such a diverse group of people active here, would you expect anyone to be universally loved?

I'm probably on some ignore lists and couldn't care less. I'd rather you ignore me than be a cheap little worm who has to go crying to the mods because your wittle feewings got hurt, you ###### little ####### #####.

I've been wishing there was a thread ignore function for a long time. And it would be great if ignored content was truly invisible, with no option to view it at all. Also would be great if you could "like" certain posters and have the ability to sort threads so that their content was on top. Your FFA, your way.
