Using Draft Dominator at draft (1 Viewer)

The people you draft with are morons! If they want the same info you have tell them to:

1. buy a labtop

2. subscribe to FFG and use it

If you think for one second that I would let someone else use my mag., notes or computer during the draft you're crazy.

The fact that they are being poor sports about this tells me you are in a league with a bunch of hacks! You could probably win by drafting out of a phonebook.

I think that the whole argument is insane. This isn't 1994 when only a few people were online and/or had access to a pc or internet. Damn near EVERYONE has access these days...heck I have it on my phone. Do they still get their game stats from the USA Today? Good grief!! I'd tell them to take a hike. Seriously.

Your right and your league mates are wrong AND dumb, but in the end you have 2 choices.........

You can say No, and play with another group

You can print the DD cheatsheet and get the same info withou the laptop. Yeah you will loose the dynamic "Best Value" feature - but with the group of idiots your describing you will probably still dominate.

NO WAY I agree to share my info - are the F'in nuts!

Tell them "I do have an unfair advantage over everyone in the league ... but the laptop has nothing to do with it"

Are we reaching the point where using "performance enhancing software" is becoming taboo?

Are they going to put an asterisk by your name on the trophy if you win?

There is one owner in our league that brings a laptop to every draft. He is EXTREMELY organized. I have a hanful of crumpled papers with scribble marks and mystery stains. We're both two of the better owners in the league.

The laptop is simply your style. If the owners are too stupid to realize they can also go to fbg's then you should tell them to go screw themselves but they will not be allowed to look at your screen. Their inability to win the league has nothing to do with them not having a laptop and you should tell them as much.

Or, if you wanted to be sneaky you could come up with a fake list of BPA and simply pop it up whenever somebody wanted to look...if they're trying to screw you then you could really flip this back on them.

What a joke - next they'll be outlawing pencils because the ability to erase gives owners an unfair advantage over those with pens.

Seriously, you need to fight this as best you can. Does your league chisel the draft picks on to stone tablets? Using a laptop in this day and age isn't an unfair adavantage, it's business as usual in so many walks of life. Tell your league to get a grip, do more research, and stop looking for excuses for why they suck so badly.

Your computer doesn't give you an advantage; your willingness to prepare more thoroughly than your fellow owners does. You shouldn't be penalized for that.

This is a bit cut throat and risky but you are getting hosed anyway.

Call on the morning of the draft and say if you cant use the DD as you see fit, then you wont be able to make it to the draft. As a commish, it would be very difficult to find someone on short notice. He may just concede and let you use it. This of course is risky because they could say sorry you cant make it, and it puts you in jeopardy of not being invited back.

However as others have said, this is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard and I would not want to be in the league anyway. I like having 2 DD files though and it would be funny if these guys drafted off the whack one. Come to think about it, why would anyone who takes pride in their team want someone elses help. It just doesnt make sense to me

The answer is very obvious.

Create a 2nd DD file with way outrageous league settings, and when guys want to look at PBA using the DD, close the one you're using (the other one will be open so it will look like you were using it) and they will see that they should draft Rex Grossman with the 3rd pick in the 2nd round.

You can also adjust the rankings per league as well I believe (not too sure) to make things way out of whack. Let them try to steal from you. Make them pay.

make sure to save your settings during the draft when you close the DD file you are using.

Take some time and prepare for this little switcheroo and they will either field terrible teams or get off your back as they will think your "tool" is a waste of money and will actually give them an advantage.

I started this topic a couple weeks ago after it was mentioned my bullheaded commish is banning laptops. Basically the reasoning he had was, "I'm in fantasy football to compete against my friends and not a computer program." haha...

I gladly broke it down to him in Lehman's terms....

Its a present day upscale form of what we used to call Excel spreadsheets

Its a magazine on my laptop

ITS THE SAME THING YOU USE (a mag)!!!

In conclusion IF THERE IS a program out there that could draft FOR YOU, predict/ foresee the 50+ injuries that happen to any player on a respected team and foresee coaching philosophies of new coaching changes as well as knowing how players respond THEN LET ME KNOW!!!! Maybe in a perfect world.....

Don't tell them you have DTV NFL Ticket or have ESPN either. They might think that is an unfair advantage during the season.

If the dorks in your league are actually entertaining the FBG ban, you need to leave now, because this stupidity is just the tip of the iceberg.

I once asked my auction league commish if I could use a laptop. He said, and I quote, "I don't care if you bring a <expletive> NFL scout, have at it!"

If the league wants to ban materials, they need to do that at the outset, in the bylaws. Not that I see the point in it.
