Value of Carlos Marmol (1 Viewer)

Rotisserie league and I am going to be light in RBI's / HR's and Runs.

I have strong pitching and already have two closers (Isringhausen and Valverde) but am expecting Marmol to be the closer soon as I do not expect Woods to hang in there for long.

Anyways here is the proposal:

I give up Marmol and Chris Young for Bill Hall and Lastings Milledge.

The only way I see that I loose is if Marmol becomes the closer sooner than later. I have to trade or drop one of my pitchers when Smoltz comes off the DL and no one wants him (they think he is really hurt).

Do I do the trade or hold out for something else?

Thanks!

I really don't see Marmol being the closer anytime soon, unless there are injuries. He's a good young pitcher but lost the competition in spring training. Unless Wood blows like four in a row, he'll keep the job.

You also have to take into account that Pinella probably loves the idea of having Marmol in there for 2 innings at a time, usually the 7th and the 8th, so it's possible that they leave Marmol in that role and turn to Howry to close...

That's exactly how I see it. Marmol is capable of shutting a team down for three innings. It doesn't make for great fantasy stats, but he's right where he should be in the bullpen. Gotta figure Howry is next in line to close. I don't even think Marmol will be the first option after Howry.

That's a good trade for you. Do it. Together, those guys could jack up to 50 Hr and 20+ steals. Milledge's BA will offset any shortcoming in BA with Hall.

I hope you closed this deal before Hall's HUGE day yesterday.

I assume you're talking about Chris Young the pitcher? If so, there are very few players I'd trade him for. Bill Hall and Lastings Milledge are not two of those players. Hold on for better. Hall's a very streaky hitter and I don't like Milledge very much at all. You can do better - and I'd try to deal another pitcher other than Young. He's going to be very good this year.
