Since there are currently several threads with discussions about how teams did over the last decade but very little actual data to support any claims one way or another, here are some numbers for people to refer to . . .

Arizona and Oakland are both pretty far down on those lists but both made it to the super bowl. Carolina is in the lower part as well and also went to a super bowl.

On the other end, Green Bay and San Diego have little to show for their effort.

Just goes to show you that you can represent any opinion you want by manipulation of data. Nothing matters but the superbowl. Nothing in the season matters once the playoffs start.I always laugh when tv channels and radio shows go over stats such as "this team has a x-x record at home in the first round of the playoffs." Who cares? Each year is different and the rosters are shuffled from what seems week to week sometimes. The only ones that matter to me are the ones represented by constant entities. Coach X has this record in the playoffs may be an indication of the coaches skill set and game planning. Another example is Peyton Manning. I think he's one of the best QB's of all time, but his playoff record may be an indication of his inability to put the team on his shoulders when it matters most. These constant entities that I suggest above, of course, don't have that much weight either. I think Andy Reid had last one playoff game in the wild card round up until last week. In my Manning example above, it could be his coaches or teammates that can't take the pressure of the playoffs. Football is the most team sport I know of, where every players actions has a direct effect on everyone else. Sorry, i might have strayed from the purpose of the post. It's in the middle of the night and I'm getting woozy.
