Do they know something I don't?

Here is my understanding of the situation as it has unfolded so far.

Morency was slated to be starter.

Morency gets dinged, sits out practice.

All indications are that Brandon Jackson will be "running away" with the job.

Maybe Brandon Jackson started to fizzle a little. (reports that he was not good pass blocking or hitting the hole hard)

Morency is expected to return for preseason finale, then is held out.

Brandon Jackson is also held out b/c of concussion.



Who is the starter in that town? And why on Earth would Yahoo!! think that Morency would put up 10 points this week?

Has he been announced as the starter?

consider the source...he hasn't even gone through one practice as far as I've read.

now they have him projected at 11 points...he's getting hotter by the minute.

That was probably Yahoo's projection a month ago as well. They dont update often.

They will give Jackson every chances to succed ( By the way he is cleared to play , he could play tomorrow but will start week 1 for sure ) .

We will see , i have read that GB was running a vanilla offense ( Meaning it s very easy for the LB to fill the holes and stop the RB ) so we will see when the season starts what the kid has .

Pas blocking was a rpoblem a the beginning of training camp ( Like every rookie RB ) supposively he improved a lot and as far as hitting the hole well there was no hole to hit in pre season , supposively for the reason i mention .

** Our GB correspondent is at Lambeau Field today watching the Packers practice. RB Vernand Morency, who missed all of training camp with a strained patellar tendon in his knee, is out on the practice field today. Brandon Jackson sustained a concussion in a collision with his own teammate on Sunday and is just watching from the sidelines. Morency is “doing a lot more than just jogging,” according to our source. “He’s catching swing passes from Favre, running and cutting. No one’s doing contact stuff but Morency’s doing everything the other players do.” Morency’s had a full month of rest and treatment and it sounds like it’s paid off. Packers HC Mike McCarthy took a special liking to the ex-Texan last season, plus he’s also in a contract year so you know Vern will shoot that knee up with anything to help him play all 16 games. When you’re filling out your bench Morency is an attractive 10th or 11th round pick with upside.
