Nice way to cap off a good weekend. Sox are back to .500 at 20-20 and on their way up. Feels like the season started tonight.

Sox deserved every last bit of it. Yanks aren't just playing poorly.... they also look disinterested.

Gonna be a long year in the Bronx.

After looking in the Red Sux thread I was just gonna say I was starting to sympathize with you, and then this thread pops up.

You just can't help yourselves. :lmao:

This is awesomehttp://www.nesn.com/2011/05/adrian-gonzalez-borrows-stroke-from-ichiro-suzuki-in-latest-display-of-power.html

After striking out and grounding out twice against Sabathia, once into an inning-ending double play, Gonzalez said to teammates and manager Terry Francona prior to their fourth encounter in the seventh inning that he was going to utilize a swing modeled after Ichiro Suzuki, whose iconic form sees him thrust his hips ahead of the rest of his body and almost sweep out of the box as he swings. To make that kind of mid-game adjustment, and a bold one at that, and then crush a Sabathia fastball into the seats in right-center field, speaks to how incredible Gonzalez is at the plate.

:shrug:What you guys hate about us we find endearing
I actually know this is untrue. I think the "we" you are referring to you is what everyone else thinks is the worst group of fans in North American sports. The "we" you think "we" means, actually applies to all the good Boston fans who also think you/they are embarrassing. HTH.

I think Boston fans here would be happy to know that my new boss is a huge Red Sux fan. Poetic justice? ool

My boss is too, and he's not even from there, which makes him even more unbearable. Typical Sox fan too, knows next to nothing about the sport.

You people really need to work on your jabs.Red Sox fans are among, if not the, most knowledgable fans about the game of any baseball fans. If you want to rip on the M####### stereotype or say they have an old park or that they can't pronounce "Lowrie" correctly or even that they get kinda drunk and obnoxious at games, then fine. But don't say their fans don't know the game. It just makes you look stupid.
Well that worked pretty quickly. They're sensitive, too.

At least those fans have something redeeming.

I didn't think you'd actually DO this, but since you took the time to post, I'll take a minute to pick it apart. So a 2007 post from a dead blog written by a guy who can't spell faux, a yankees fan's fickr pic bragging about throwing ice on an opposing team's fan, a dead facebook group, and an urban dictionary link that, not ironically, has similar posts when you enter the names of several other MLB Franchises.... yet not a single actual ranking of "worst fans"? Got it.

The "selling loyalty" post is pretty comical though.

Go to the FFA's worst fan base thread and you'll find a ton of linked polls and writeups on "most hated fanbases" and you'll find the Sox aren't even the top MLB group let alone "worst group of fans in north american sports".

I'll drop it at this though. If you'd like to continue with that perception (and I know you will) that's fine. Certainly have every right to believe whatever you'd like.

Come on now. :lmao: I'll ask you for a link on that one, no way.Pretty bad group of fans, pretty much everyone I've ever talked to agrees so I'm not sure how you can properly defend it. It of course doesn't apply to the entire fan base, but you have to know you are pretty well hated and it's certainly not for any success. Luckily people will always hate Yankee fans more as a whole, because the Yankees win and win for decades at a time. Doesn't give them a pass to act like #######s, but they are usually a better road crowd than the Red Sux in my experience.

Doesn't mean I dislike you. It's just sports...

Not based on my experience.
I won't argue you here unless you're going to suggest the Cardinals fans are in the lead here :lmao:
I'm not suggesting any fans are in the lead. I'm saying it's ridiculous for Sox fans to point out their fan base as being superior. I'd guess that almost all fan bases are the same, in terms of the makeup of their fans when it comes to knowledge of the game.I went to a Sox game about 5 years ago. My ticket had a picture of a former Sox player, someone from the 60's I think. NO ONE around me knew who it was. I must have asked 15 people.

I'm a Red Sox fan and I find 95% of other Red Sox fans to be annoying as all hell. I try to hide my Sox allegiance here in Minneapolis at times because of this fact.

TO be fair, I am not sure that is the best way to determine knowledge as a fan.The way I would do it is this... A knowledgeable (average) fan should be able to name the majority of both the starting lineup and rotation, understand where the team is in the standings, and be able to hold a conversation on strategy for the remainder of the season. If the average fan can do this, I would suggest that fan-base is above-average for knowledge.

I think if they went and built themselves a nice new ballpark, and got rid of that ridiculous dump they're in, some of the douchebaggery would ease up a bit. It worked in Philly for a while.

Let me guess: right field line, a few rows from the field near Pesky Pole? That area is full of idiots.

:goodposting: These are the dumbasses who bite the lure of cheap tickets near the field only to find that they face center field all game. AKA Fenway n00bs. Generally these folks go overboard to prove they belong at fenway. I sat under the numbers in GS2 once on a Friday Night Yankees game and the only people I could tolerate round me were these four yankee fan chicks behind us, and that was only because they were cute and were getting hammered to celebrate their friend's birthday. There were several fairly clueless ####### around me who felt it was their civic duty as a first-timer at fenway to harass the girls just because they were in Yankee gear. This was in spite of the fact that they were being cool as hell and not bothering anyone.*Disclaimer : I'm aware GS2 isn't in that block of ####ty seats that face toward CF/LF... just speaking from experience in the closest seats I've had to that area.
