ABob...

He isnt just a dog killer.

He appears to be the leader of a crime ring.

Its how he is headed to a possible 27 years from what was 6.

I cant recall another NFL player with such a distinction.

People seem to be misunderstanding me. I am NOT condoning Vicks alleged actions. Nor am I saying the NFL has no business banning him for life. The things he looks to have done are horrific. What I AM taking issue with is the fact the NFL is filled with scumbags. Yes, there are many good NFL players out there as well that do not receive the recognition they deserve. I'm going to start a thread calling a spotlight to the Saints of the NFL. I can understand how the public can get so outraged over Vick killing dogs in a brutal manner. I am also bothered by what he has supposedly done. I think he should do a fair amount of jail time for all of the laws he broke. Whether he would be old enough to come back to the NFL after serving his time is something I can't answer. What I'm having difficulty with is the fact players do terrible things on a relatively regular basis. Things that are, at least in my opinion, much worse than the crimes Vick has committed. Again, I do not intend to make light of Vick's wrongdoings but I refuse to believe it is worse to kill dogs than it is for a grown man to have sex with a 14 year old girl. I do not believe killing dogs is worse than beating your spouse. I do not believe killing dogs is worse than being a part of a conspiracy to commit murder. If you would actually take the time to poll most sports fans, they would agree dog fighting is not worse. But our actions have spoken louder than our words. The passion with which we have when we demand for Vick to be kicked out of the league is bothersome ONLY when we compare it to the lack of our actions when these greater evils take place.
Where you went wrong was assuming that these people on this forum were sane... They can't identify the differences between humans and people. Never mind the fact how hypocritical they are by eating meat, owning pets (slavery?) ect... They're sick hypocritical tards.

See people like you, they're insane. Animals are not people! You're applying human emotions to an animal. Did you care how that cow felt before he was slaughtered for your cheeseburger? Or maybe how the animals that are endangered or extinct felt because you helped contributed to their demise by buying products from the company or you live in a big apartment complex in the city? Or maybe how many animals you've ran over in your car this year? People like you make me sick. You'd like to see a human being suffer over some animals he fought. Forget professional fighting, or the brain damage done by the NFL and many other contact sports, animals are so cute and cuddly, they're like people! LMAO. Do you understand that animals kill and each other in nature right? The animals willingly fight each other... Seriously, you'll never get it... You probably grew up watching some cartoons that personify animals... Tom and Jerry? Sicko.
The dogfighting is not cool, but it is what it is.The part I have a problem with and I think others do is the cruelty these guys inflicted on the dogs. Dogs are mammals, they feel the same physical pain that we do. How would you like it if a 20 foot animal grabbed you by the legs and slammed your head into the concrete until you died, think about that for a minute, it's not a fun thought is it? I get a bad tingly sensation in my head just thinking about it. Seriously, give it some thought and tell me you're ok with grabbing a dog and slamming it's head into the concrete until it is dead. Obviously you're trying to act like Bill O'reilly and honestly he's not quite as sick as you are. Your above comments make me hope the moderators just ban you flat out.

I feel honored. I have never corresponded with any one famous. Your ridiculous comments lead me to believe that you are the real BillO. Congrats, no wonder I don't agree with you.

Could you explain the difference between humans and people, I think they are the same, what new information do you have?

I sure liked it when Vick was the 1st QB to win a playoff game on Lambeau Field.

And I really enjoyed that run he broke off on the Vikings.

And he was a top10 FF QB at least a season or two.

I also think he's a scumbag for treating dogs the way he did but anyone who thought this kind of behavior didn't exist probably believes in fairy tales of all kinds too.

I think the fact he will be losing upwards of $50 million in endorsements and salray over the next 5-10 years should be a pretty good punishment for what happened.

I seem to remmeber Vick doing pretty well last year for a lot of FF owners on here...he was part of the team I won a couple of leagues with. I would have liked to seen Vick been able to continue his career before any of this happened and truly for selfish reasons I think we will all get robbed of a pretty good football player that was worth the price of admission to watch him run around and make plays.

A lot of piling on in this thread, completely understand folks wanting to do that. It makes people feel good to be part of a cause and some think that ripping Vick brings them comfort in their own lives. I didn't read the entire thread but it's easy to get the jist of this, no one should take what I am posting personally as I am not pointing any fingers.

I hope Vick understands what he did was wrong, but I also think their is a double standard when it comes to gambling. We all gamble in here...OK most of us gamble in here. It's OK to bet on the horses, some absolutely brutal fighting matches between 2 humans, but we draw the lines on dogs. What if it were roosters, cats, or some other lesser species or creatures? I'm not picking a fight or fishing, just offering a little perspective and some food for thought.

All Vick's defense has to say is that he's being unfairly targeted because of race, and get a few black jury members that are sympathetic, and if you've been following the case they aren't in short supply. There is a history of mistrust and a strong chance that Vick could basically pull an OJ.If I was Vick, I would not accept a plea bargain unless it was very very generous :lmao:
I don't buy it. However, I may have missed the part of the OJ trial where several of OJ's black aquaintances admitted to being at the murder scene with him.

Did I say dogfighting was cool? Did I say he shouldn't serve ANY time? I said I'm against people who are overreacting to the situation because their sensitive to dogs. We pick and choose what animals are ok to kill ect. If you really love dogs you'd let them run free like they were intended to instead of keeping them as slaves for your sick amusement ;)Well, I guess since you hope the moderators ban me I hope a giant dinosaur eats your family.

I would speculte he will plea for 2 to 3 years on charges that do not include gambling. Of that, he will serve 18 months to 2 years. I do not think he will get a lifetime ban. If I were Goodell, I would suspend him for 2 years. 1 for the charges (2 if he had not pleaded) and one for conduct code for lying.Owners would hire him.
I agree..I think a two year banning from anything to do with the NFL would be a good starting point.

Do you play in the NFL? Officiate NBA games? Play MLB with Pete Rose? There is a reason why there is a double standard for athletes. I cannot impact my bet; players and officials can. We draw the line on dogs because the Kentucky Derby doesn't consist of two horses fighting to the death.

No but horses have died (Barbaro) because of humans abusing them. They should be free!!!LET MY PEOPLE... ERM... ANIMALS FREE! :lmao:Next time you get a hamburger think a little more about where that hamburger comes from and maybe shed a tear for that poor ol' momma cow who will never see her babies again haha... Or the fact that the cow was shot in the head, maybe it didn't kill the cow immediately and it was beaten to death with a steel baseball bat... And then chopped up for your sammy ;)But dogs are so cute!

ABob...He isnt just a dog killer. He appears to be the leader of a crime ring. Its how he is headed to a possible 27 years from what was 6.I cant recall another NFL player with such a distinction.
Again, I have no issue with the jail time he is facing. Nor do I have a problem with him possibly being finished in the NFL. People aren't getting outraged over him organizing a crime ring. At least not most people. Most people mainly have a problem with the fact he killed some dogs. And yes, they should be upset over that fact but they should be MORE outraged over other events. Sadly, they often are not. It's sad when certain events have become so relatively common that we no longer scream at anyone who will listen. I hope dog fighting never becomes as passe an issue as spousal abuse and rape.

Man, I'm glad I haven't been lynched for pulling the wings off of butterflies as a child. Or the time I ran down a cat with my car. I don't know how many I've ran over, quite a few. But I do it for a purpose, they kill off a lot of rabbits. I'm just being an environmentalist. Cat population is out of control these days. People need to be responsible about the number of slaves they have.

I hope that I am reading your note wrong. Where I live spousal abuse and rape are not passe. The mainstream media tends to focus on lightning rod issues. Individuals who are personally impacted by violent crime would never use the term passe. Our country would rather focus on Lohan's coke problem than try to figure out how to help the middle class.

so your perspective is that cats are equivalent to roosters and other lesser species or creatures?

C'mon Bill I knew that you were out of control, but a man lover? How can you run over cats? I, myself, love pu&&y.

I think his point is how stupid and hypocritical this whole thing is. A dog is an animal just like a cow is animal 'cept we don't eat them in America, although if you go to Korea I recommend the grilled dog. Or that those who own dogs are basically slave traders? They breed them and sell them and they are contained in a small house under the control of their master. They should be free :yes:emancipate the dog population PLEASE!

So what will happen if Vick does get sentenced to jail time? I think Vick will have to be suspended for 1 year, and he will no longer be a Falcon *when* he gets reinstated.

My prediction, 2008 starting QB for the Baltimore Ravens : Michael Vick.

raping a 14 year old girl (travis henry).
WTF? I never heard about this story.
i think this was statatory rape..sex with an under age girl but consentual if I remember correctly?
Here is all that I could find.Rape isn't rape when a jock does it; it's an 'error in judgment' - by David WheatleyTravis Henry: Did anyone notice it was National Idiots Week? What else could explain the past few days? A lawyer could, of course. We give you Terrence Connors, proudly representing Buffalo Bills running back Travis Henry. ``It was a learning experience for him, a difficult one,'' Connors said. ``And an error in judgment.'' That's legalese for, ``Yes, my client had a sexual encounter with a 15-year-old.'' Henry was sentenced Friday to 100 hours of community service. He will counsel troubled youths. Hopefully not 15-year-old girls. Henry is just one of our sports heroes who has had an ``error in judgment.''

Talk like what? There is no law against killing stray cats, even if they are kittens and I use FancyFeist to lure them in front of my car... I'm protecting the rabbit population and cats are overpopulated and hurting the rabbit population. I'm doing God's work now.

FixedBoxer have a choice if they want to fight or not. Nobody forces them to go into boxing. These dogs had no choice if they wanted to fight. They were forced to.

When a boxer loses he isn't taken out back and electrocuted. Some of these dogs were.

When a boxer loses he isn't slammed into the ground until he's dead. One or more of these dogs were and I am going to guess it probably wasn't instantaneous. It probably took many slams to finally kill a dog.

When a boxer loses he isn't taken out back and shot. Some of these dogs were.

There is no double standard about the gambling. The NFL is very precise about gambling. The NFL prohibits any association with gamblers or with gambling activities. Such involvement may result in severe penalties, including “a suspension from the N.F.L. for life,” the league’s gambling policy states. Vick knew this but still decided to get involved with it.

I am not pointing the finger at you but your food for thought is nothing but empty calories.

You forgot to mention that boxers are human beings and dogs are animals and that comparing a human to an animal is ridiculous and out of line. Also, again, the dogs DID CHOOSE to fight each other. They didn't have to fight each other they could have just sat there in the cage but it's in their nature. And why do you care so much that these dogs were executed? They were clearly bad dogs, I mean they tried to kill each other and are clearly a menace to society, no?

2 years in jail, or have Vick fight a hungry trained pitbull on PPV in two weeks, then let him rejoin the Falcons.

Did I say dogfighting was cool? Did I say he shouldn't serve ANY time? I said I'm against people who are overreacting to the situation because their sensitive to dogs. We pick and choose what animals are ok to kill ect. If you really love dogs you'd let them run free like they were intended to instead of keeping them as slaves for your sick amusement :rolleyes:Well, I guess since you hope the moderators ban me I hope a giant dinosaur eats your family.
Dam it BO! Their is just no need for talk like this in here! WTF you saying this BS for...you wish his family dead because he would like to see you banned from a FF MB? Well then add me into that crowd..Ban this FTARD J his kind of crap is over the line here and as uneeded and uneccasary as anything i have ever read here!

I notice you don't mention one word about his non-passing ability

It's OK to bet on the horses, some absolutely brutal fighting matches between 2 humans THAT MADE THEIR OWN DECISION TO DECIDE TO FIGHT, but we draw the lines on dogs. What if it were roosters, cats, or some other lesser species or creatures? I'm not picking a fight or fishing, just offering a little perspective and some food for thought.

Alright. I'll play along. If it was just two dogs wanting to kill each other how would that be a menace to society?

I think the underlying problem is slavery. If dogs are so important people should not own them? They're bred for these purposes. It is because they were bred in this manner that they are so dangerous. Dogs are not property but beautiful intelligent creatures like us. They should be protected under the constitution with equal rights as us. Some people though slavery was abolished yet we live in a world where dogs, who are just as important as people, are owned as property!

Because of their propensity towards violence, would you want a vicious animal like that around an infant? I would but that's because the infant population is completely out of control. But that's a whole different subject.

Mods he is going over the line now..and i must say its really bothering me now to have to read this crap from him..please warn him to not talk like this again..their is no need for this post!
Talk like what? There is no law against killing stray cats, even if they are kittens and I use FancyFeist to lure them in front of my car... I'm protecting the rabbit population and cats are overpopulated and hurting the rabbit population. I'm doing God's work now.
Well if J or the mods do not so soemthing to stop this Ahole from postin total nonsense here then i am sure I am not the only one who will either block you or just not read this board..block him? Hmmm what the hell was i waiting for..how do i PLONK posters here?

Sadly, I do not believe you read that the wrong way. Athletes commit "immoral" activities often. The level of outrage is rarely this intense.

Well, for what it's worth I think all the woman beaters are just as bad as Vick, and should be removed from the league on the mere basis that no man who beats a woman is fit to be called a man. But as anti-PETA as I am, I really like animals, and being cruel to an animal is pretty messed up. Unless Mike Vick is fighting animals that can really fight back... like say, bears or tigers, then he's a cruel, messed up individual.

Thinking about it now, it is sad. People are far more attracted to Mike Irvin's and LT's coke problems. ( The original LT.) Mike Vick's issues, the OJ trial, and Barry Bonds. Not so much about guilt or innocence but just the voyeuristic value of sitting on the outside and looking in.

I totally agree that he has some screws lose and should get some sort of punishment, but I'm against anything over a year in prison because as much as I like animals (especially bunny wabbits) they are not people. And even though bunny wabbits hop and look cute, they should not be put up near people because of sentimental reasons. We eat animals and own animals (slavery-esque) so I'm not going to cheer for someone's life to be ruined because he fought some dogs for sport.

I don't think animals and humans are the same; they're not. I'd stomp a bunny rabbit to death if doing so meant it saved a humans life. But fighting them for sport is needlessly cruel, and their life doesn't have to have the same value as that of a human for it to be serious. As far as punishment, he deserves whatever he gets. The law is what it is, and if you're repeatedly breaking the law to fight dogs... or if you're organizing an illegal underground dogfighting ring... well, that's not quite so innocent. It's organized crime. It may not be Soprano's level organized crime, but it's still something that needs to be kept in check.

I haven't read this whole thing, but some posters have obviously watched too many courtroom drama shows.

The Feds throw him a bone with a 18-24 month sentence ( he serves the lesser) in exchange he avoids the higher end charges involved with RICO. There is no way the Feds risk taking this to trial no matter what evidence they have. The NAACP has already dangled the race card out there and there is no scenario (IMO) that the Feds leave this in the hands of a southern jury,

Atlanta cuts him for violation of his contract and goes after what will be an uncollectible debt. I am unclear on the cap ramifications of this--so please someone help out there.

Goddell lets the situation lie and says, "He will address the Vick situation when he is released from jail." His silence speaks louder than if he would have just suspened him now. When he is released, he is quietly suspended for a season or 2 which effectively ends his playing career.

The Feds are happy they got their man.

PETA is happy with their pound of flesh.

Vick writes a book when he comes out trying to raise money and justify what happend.

raping a 14 year old girl (travis henry).
WTF? I never heard about this story.
It's true, I think it was consensual, but it's still rape if she's 14.
she wasn't 14.EDIT TO ADD: I didn't lock this threadHere's more on the Henry story, btw.
HAMBURG, N.Y. -- Buffalo Bills rookie Travis Henry pleaded guilty Friday to trying to have sexual contact with a 15-year-old girl.Henry, a running back, will be sentenced Nov. 9. He faces up to 90 days in jail and a maximum $500 fine for the misdemeanor, but it is more likely that he will have to do community service."It is unusual for anybody under similar circumstances to receive sentences of incarceration in situations like this," District Attorney Frank Clark said. The guilty plea puts Henry under review regarding the NFL's personal-conduct policy and could lead to a suspension, fine or both. The team will not comment until Henry is sentenced, Bills spokesman Scott Berchtold said.Henry was at a suburban Buffalo gas station when two girls approached him Sept. 23. The three went to Henry's home, and the 15-year-old girl told him she was almost 18, Clark said.In agreeing to charge Henry with a misdemeanor, Clark took into account that the encounter was consensual, there was no evidence of physical or psychological coercion, and the two were relatively close in age.Henry turns 23 on Monday. He was not immediately available for comment."Mr. Henry did neither better or worse than the great number of people that fall in the same factual setting as he did," Clark said. The charge, attempted sexual misconduct, covers any attempt of sexual contact between an adult and someone younger than 17."He realizes it was an error of judgment," Henry's lawyer, Terrence Connors, said. "And it's a hard lesson to learn."Connors denied his client received any privileges because he is a pro football player."If anything, the scrutiny was more intense rather than less intense," Connors said. "Travis Henry accepted responsibility for his actions."
