Vick the Best Player in the NFL? (1 Viewer)

I like Wilbon, but never take anything he says seriously. He changes his mind all the time, after pronouncing to the world that something or somebody has reached some exaggerated level. He's literally becoming a drama queen Bill Walton. Everything is the best or worst of all time!!!!!

I have never been a Vick fan. Sure he is exciting, and difficult to prepare for, but in the end, in playoffs, when it really matters, he has and will fail. Playoff defenses are too tough, and at some point you will need to win it with your arm. I don't think Vick can do that.

For all the good he did this weekend, 54% isn't good enough.
You should really try watching football. AS you obviously have not watch a full series of Vicks play this year or you wouldn't say that. He IS doing it with his arm. Yet people continue to trot out there 2006 Michael Vick talking points. He has a cannon, and now the eagles have actually coached him up, whereas the falcons essentially jsut 'let him do him' with next to no real instruction. It was a joke really. Jim Moron cared more about having Vick like him.
eh, mora tried to make vick into a west coast passer. they woulda been better off letting him do him. oh ya, and he proly woulda fine if he had better wr than crumpler and jenkins lolz.

Vick had accuracy issues in ATL. He is a much more composed QB today. You can see his maturity in the pocket. He looks down field 80%+ of the time in scrambling situations today where he would have just run it in years past.

The TD to Macklin in the enzone is a perfect example of his maturation in the pocket.

Vick 2010 = Cunningham 1998?

I don't think anyone expected Cunningham to be THAT good that year. Like Vick he was out of football for a season+ before joining his new team. Like Vick he played sparingly in his first year on the team. Like Vick he had a dangerous downfield threat in Moss (jackson). Like Vick he had a reputation as a running QB.

Granted Randall had a few good passing seasons with the eagles years before he went to minnesota, but the point is many people had written him off. Sure Vick may not be the "best" NFL player, but do not underestimate his ability to do something special this season. It's been done before.

Did I hear Wilbon correctly on PTI? Michael Vick is the Best Player in the NFL?

He cleaned up a Packer loss. He beat Detroit. He beat the Jags.

Against the Jags he was 17-31 - 54%

He does look good, but I need to see more of him against some of the better teams.

Once again, Wilbon jumps way ahead...
Maybe Peyton Manning should go out and kill some helpless animals, then he could be as good as Michael Vick. :goodposting:
The franchise quarterback just had suffered the most crushing defeat of his career, and he needed to get away from it all. So the peeved passer headed to the backwoods of Mississippi, where he cleared his head by killing a defenseless animal.Sorry, PETA, but the gun-toting quarterback in question was not Michael Vick. In fact, it was Peyton Manning, whose aim with a hunting rifle apparently is as true as it is with the ol' pigskin.

M-Vic is playing lights out but I'll take D-Bre, T-Bra and P-Man over him.
are those the only 3 you'd take over him? are you talking fantasy or real life? i assume real life.cause i'd take Rivers, Romo, Cutler, Rodgers, Flacco, Roeth, Stafford, Orton and prolly more over Vick as well. yea, he's playing well, but we'll see how long it lasts.he tore up the Jags, and the Lions. woopity doo.
And Brady played the Bills yesterday. The best defense Peyton has faced is the Denver Broncos. Real impressive. Rivers? Less impressive against the Jags than Vick was. That's cool though, you take Joe Flacco.

I don't know about the best player in the NFL, I think its Peyton Manning. If he keeps up his amazing start, he should definitely be considered for MVP.

Wilbon likes to say outlandish things. Yesterday he suggested the Steelers, should they go 4-0, keep Roethlishberger on the bench in favor of Charlie Batch. :loco:

And P.S. Tony Dungy is a total fraud for endorsing Vick while criticizing Rex Ryan. I guess in his world, torturing defenseless animals is fine but F-bombs should be condemned.
  And a racist  I loathe Dungy....still think he was one of the most overrated Coaches in the game....pretty much any Coach with Manning under center can/will win a SB...Dungy was very average before Manning saved his Coaching career.
Average? Please. He was a very good defensive coach. And if any coach with Manning can win a ring, why is Dungy the only to do it?RACIST? You're an idiot. When did Dungy say anything about what Vick did to the dogs, when he commented on how Vick played? He didn't. Vick did horrible things, but that doesn't mean that whoever acknowledges what he does on the football field is condoning those things. Nor does it make them racist (idiot).
If you guys come back after your time off, don't flippantly call people racist and don't call each other idiots.J

He has 5 TDs at halftime. Pretty sure he's the best QB in the NFC right now.
I was one of the people who said this past year that he had talent and could be a good passer as well as runner. But...don't get carried away. Drew Brees is still pretty good and I for one wouldn't trade him for Vick. There is also Aaron Rodgers. One game and a few games do not make a season or a career.

Tony Dungy has been called a racist for years, this is not new.

The guy was in the can. He stayed in shape, got out and is playing better than anyone in the game. He's kind of killing McCoy's value. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Whoever the luckbox was who grabbed Vick in the 23rd round of their start-up dynasty is cashing in.

47 points at the half...decent.

Hes now thoroughly outplayed Peyton Manning and Donovan McNabb in consecutive weeks.

Eagles are soon to be 4-0 this season when hes played the entire game. Theyre 2-3 when hes been injured. Hes playing like the MVP of the league this year.

He's looking like quite the leader as well. He's helping guys when they make mistakes and getting in faces when things need to be fixed. Doesn't act a whole lot like the guy from Atlanta.

Maybe, but through 11 weeks Vick is clearly the most successful and productive QB in the NFC:Vick: 278 total yards per game (221 passing/57 rushing), 2.5 TDs (1.8 passing/0.7 rushing), 0 INTs, 0 fumbles lost, 114.5 passer rating (highest in NFL), .800 winning percentage

Brees: 287 yards, 2.0 TDs, 1.3 INTs, .667 winning percentage

Rodgers: 275 yards, 2.0 TDs, 1.0 INTs, .667 winning percentage

Manning: 275 yards, 2.3 TDs, 0.3 INTs, .667 winning percentage

That's fine if you would personally rather have Brees or Rodgers. I'm sure a lot of people would agree with you.

The All-Pro Team, on the other hand, would rather have Vick.

edit: added more yards and another TD.

He's a great resurrection story. Vick is playing on separate level than the rest of the players on the field.

He's playing as well as anyone I've ever seen. He's single-handedly keeping my fantasy season alive.

But he's still a cruel, inhumane ******* who doesn't deserve any of it.

LOL. You might want to wait until the season is over. And, would it surprise you if Vick got hurt again and missed several more games?
