Chiming in on Dishonored here. It's an awesome game, and well worth the $$. Many games have a "play how you want" claim, but this one really delivers on that.

I will say this is meant to be a stealth game, rewarding patient exploration/etc. If you run through killing everything (which you can do) I could see it being very short. Like IvanKaramazov said, the first mission alone took me 5-6 hours. It's really fun to get past guards using your stealth powers/etc.

The game reminds me a LOT of the Thief series. In fact, the only real differences are the "hide in shadows" thing, which this game doesn't have (and doesn't need), and instead of trick arrows this game has stealth "powers" like teleport, higher jumping, etc. It's even like Thief in that it's broken up into missions you can replay, etc. It also keeps track of your stats, like how many you killed vs. left alive, loot found, etc.

If you liked the Thief series and wished they'd make another one, this is your game.

I've been waiting for a good new game to buy while trading in all of my Mass Effects and a few others. We think Dishonored may be honorable enough to put commander shepherd to rest?

Have you played much of the ME3 multiplayer? They just added a ton more content. It's been one of my favorite multiplayers ever.

My War readiness has been a steady 50% since april.

I started the first mission of Dishonored a few hours ago. It would be very easy to wipe through each mission and just kill everyone, but if you explore around and all that it will take a while. I am playing on Hard and have found it quite difficult so far. Enjoying it very much.

Totally loving XCOM and Borderlands 2 along with my usual array of top line sports games (The Show 11/12 and NBA 2K11).

XCOM is a fantastic RTS game that has tons of replayability with different difficulty levels, and plenty of different approaches you can take in regards to base location, base building, tech advancement, troops and squads etc.

A gem.

I am waiting till January to pick up Dishonored. I know that game will be fantastic as well.

I am however picking up The new Hitman on release day. I love that series.

Just spoke with a Redbox rep...I was curious as to why Redbox wasn't carrying X-Com. She said that it's entirely up to the publisher (2K Games) about what/when they receive games and movies. I had no idea.

That's a bummer, since it's not coming to Redbox til at least next month...I'm guessing that's to drive up sales, no?

No, you can't use it on a pre-order, but yes, you can still pre-order the game. I'm looking to get a copy my usual ways for my first playthrough. I can't wait. Borderlands 2 is starting to grow stale for me.

Picked up Enslaved: Journey to the West last night for $10. So far I'm really liking it.

It has the controls of Jade Empire, the platforming of Uncharted, the post-apocalyptic feel of Bioshock (except not wet), and the main character sounds like Moe Szyslak. What more could you want?

I have beaten every game in the series (including AC 1, which I finally finished last night), and I'd say it's one of my favorite series. I'd guess it depends on what kind of games you like. It's a linear-storyline sandbox stealth game....at least that's how I'd describe it. I have enjoyed the GTA series and Red Dead Redemption in the past, and I kinda view it as a similar game with different free-running and CQC gameplay mechanics rather than long-distance gunfights. I am not sure how much a hardcore RPG guy would enjoy the games.IMO, AC 2 is the best. I'd say AC Brotherhood and AC Revelations are about the same, tied for 2nd. AC 1 is the worst of the bunch. Not horrible, but certainly not as good as the other three.I have never played the multiplayer in these games and have no desire to do so, so I can't speak to those. I will be getting the new one, but I'm waiting for a price drop....I can't justify $60 for a single-player game when I have a couple of other games I should beat first.

I love the AC series.The first game was a great concept with pretty good controls, but the game got VERY repetitive by the end. I still think it's worth a play through if you don't get too bored with the repetitive nature of the quests, I just would do the minimum you need to play through the story. If you get bored you can find story parts on youtube. You can find it for $10-$15, so no huge loss either way.ACII was probably the best game 1 to game 2 improvement in a series that I have ever played. The kept the great concept, the controls got even better, and they realized the repetitive nature of the first game, and really tried to vary things a bit to keep the game entertaining throughout. I love the AC series.The first game was a great concept with pretty good controls, but the game got VERY repetitive by the end. I would add that AC2 through AC Revelations actually do have a lot of historical stuff in them. AC 1 not so much, though you do interact with a handful of historical figures. I'll be honest in that I learned quite a bit about Renaissance-era history from those three games. Obviously they bend history quite a bit to get the characters into the games, but it was enough for me to spend time reading about the various people as I was playing. So while I didn't necessarily learn FROM the game, it introduced me to new people/places and spurred me to do some historical reading about the people I was interacting with.

If you like those games I think you would like it. There are some very light RPGish elements in it, like the more open world you can explore, the optional side gather or challange missions, updated equipement you need to buy as you progress. If you don't like that stuff, you can just stick on the story quests and run through the game pretty lineraly.I would at least start with ACII, it looks like they are coming out with a single pack ACII, Brotherhood, and revelations pack in a copule weeks for $40. Honestly, I REALLY can't see you going wrong there. If you like those games I think you would like it. I played AC:2 and AC:Brotherhood. Both were good for one playthrough each (20-30 hours each). The Assassins Creed games are okay, but they're terribly easy and always a little overrated. I'll definitely play AC:3 sometime, but it won't be until it hits the $30 price point.

Its just a lot of fun and the scenery is awesome. Really fun game.

plus i agree its easy but its still a blast to play. plus they have cerain ways you need to complete missions to get 100% which makes it more difficult. sometimes i like not thinking aout my video games.

Brotherhood and Revelations are worth playing. I'm sure you can play 3 without them, if that's your plan, though.

The only part of Revelations you'll miss if you move on is the Desmond stuff. Unfortunately, I found that to be the weakest part of the game, but it did provide some backstory to his life. Nothing really new other than backstory, if I recall. I still love the Ezio part, so you can still go back later.

The controls are different this time around for combat. That could be for good reasons, but so far it's awkward being used to the other games. I'm sure I'll get used to it.

I re-purchased Bioshock two nights ago on LIVE. It's on sale for only $10. I used to be really against buying downloadable games, but it's actually convenient.

Bioshock holds up extremely well even though it's getting to be a pretty old game. Setting people on fire only to electrocute them when they jump in water, and tagging Big Daddies with security bullseye after deliberately failing a hack never gets old.

HahaI will get to it eventually. I have 4 more characters to go through in borderlands 2 first. Beat the main game with barley and the dlc with jd. Just started play through 2 with my assassin to level up to fight the big boys.
