Video games...what ya playing? And what are you looking forward to? (3 Viewers)

I gave Witcher 3 my best shot. It's just not clicking for me.

I love everything about the game except the controls. They're just way too janky for me. Tried a keyboard and controller and its just not working out. For example, looting a bunch of corpses is a chore because you need to position yourself at the perfect angle before hitting A. Same thing with mounting your horse and talking to people. It's so frustrating because the game seems so good otherwise.

Gamestop DOES have a trade in deal for the XB1 right now. $150 for either a PS3 or XBOX360.

Plus, you get the free game of your choice that MSFT is offering.
Does the 360 have to be working?
I traded a white one in awhile back - got it working and ran right over. They tested it for a few minutes - had it gone on any longer, I don't think I would have got my trade in processed.

So, yeah probably but you really just need it to boot up a game for a minute or two.

So I have today through Sunday without family. I have a tremendous backlog of games. Let's hear some votes on what I should do:

Go back and finish the campaign in Gears 2 and move on to Gears 3

Finish Max Payne 3 on PC

Finish X-Com (figure maybe a couple of hours left for campaign)

Finish Batman Ark Asylum on PC

Work on Fallout New Vegas again (PC)

Start Middle Earth:Shadows of Mordor (PC)

Crysis 3 (PC)

Far-Cry 3 or Far Cry 4 (PC)

Last of Us (PS4) - I am maybe 2 hours in

I have at least another 150 Steam games and a ridiculous amount of 360 games to work on as well, but those are the leaders as I see them.

I have been so busy with so little time to do anything that when I do have time to play, I just do other stuff. I need to reconnect this weekend. :nerd:

If you play these on casual you can beat them in say 10 hours total. Solid story, although you may not remember the first one much since its been a while. Definitely play if you have someone else to co-op with.

Ok....I am on a mission. I want to finish all these games before Star Wars Battlefront drops:

Dying Light (35% completed)

Wolfenstein The New Order

The Wolf Among Us

The Evil Within

Alien Isolation (70% completed)

Far Cry 4 - (30% completed)

All main story lines must be finished by Thanksgiving.

It's tough for me because I am a sports gaming addict. I can't put down MLB 15 The Show, NBA 2K15 or soon Madden 16. I even picked up FIFA 15 (my first FIFA game ever) and I can hear that Manager Career Mode calling me.

Oh well. My backlog is ridiculous (I have some awesome PS3 games I want to get to as well). Maybe I just need to retire now......and play all day.

I've got a similar issue - want to beat Sleeping Dogs, Deus Ex, Splinter Cell Blacklist, and the Witcher 2 before I get an xbox one for Christmas.

It shouldn't be a problem, bit it's hard for me to find time.

I highly recommend this course of action :)

Xbox360 - What are some good exotic/sports car racing games I can race vs someone else in the same house (on the same xbox360)? I guess this is kinda old school but my son and I are looking for a game we can play together.

4 missions away from completing Alien Isolation. What a game. I really am enjoying it.

Once that is done today I will resume Dying Light and Far Cry 4 then move to Wolfenstein The New Order.

I downloaded both a 1990-91 and 1991/92 full roster for NBA 2K15 plus complete draft classes for 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994 and 1995.

I decided to start a 91/92 Heat MyLeague so my first draft class has Shaq and Zo. I might be bad enough to sneak into a lotto pick and hopefully snag one of them LOL.

The roster was painstakingly created, faces, ratings, and tendencies are spot on amazing.

I also found an amazing 1987/88 for use in a single season. Another amazing roster set for 2K15.

It's older, but Burnout Revenge is a great arcade racer (you can play split screen like you want). Pretty easy to play, get points for making the other guy crash, etc.

I am terrible at video games but have always liked the Arkham series because it babies me through it and really isn't that challenging.

This ####ing game is hard.

I'm still just playing the hell out of The Show. I have 3 RTTS going - a starting pitcher, a power Right Fielder and a contact/speed Center Fielder. The Right Fielder is who I play the most. Made it to the bigs after Spring Training in his 2nd year but the Padres were platooning him and only giving him occasional starts despite the fact that he was tearing it up. After enough #####ing to management about playing time and getting a trade, they sent him to the Twins where he's a full time starter and adding some serious hitting to an already strong pitching rotation.

My Diamond Dynasty has stalled out because I've been getting crap for cards. Haven't gotten one good enough to put on the roster for a while now. Upside is that I've built out my customer guy by feeding him crappy cards to the point that he's the best on the team by far. May stop that to try and collect some team cards for the special players.
My RF for the Twins got benched about 3 weeks before the All-Star game in favor of a guy with a rating 15 pts below him. I think it's likely because of a couple games where I had an error or two and got picked off on 2nd due to controller issues (Was on first, pick off move came and was thrown over the 1st basemen's head. I pushed up on the stick to advance to 2nd but the ball went out of play and the switch to me being advanced to 2nd was so fast that it took my push as an effort to steal 3rd before the pitch - has happened multiple times. Along with the abrupt change in view when a ball goes over your head in the outfield they may be my two biggest controller gripes in the game). Anyway, the benching cost me my spot on the All-Star team in my rookie year so now I'm requesting trades again. Will be interesting to see if there's a notion of getting a reputation as a bad egg if I manage to get on my 3rd team in just my rookie year while leading the league in average.
My power hitting RF is still in AA. I HATE flyballs and most games I stink on D, though I was leading the league in HR / RBI until a cold spell that has dropped my average 30 pts..... :kicksrock: I think I'm in the mid 60s power, mid 50s contact, 60 clutch...and nothing into D yet. Overall 62. I'm stinking it up right now. Any suggestions?
Took me a while to learn to pay outfield. Start moving before the arrow comes up. The hardest ones are right in front of you (you start back but it ends up short) but everything else you can at least start left or right if the depth isn't clearn yet. Then push your stick in the direction of the arrow and when it turns green ease up on the stick and watch the ball, not the arrow to move under it. If you follow the arrow the entire way it's really difficult.

Hot and cold spells happen within the background engine. Take batting practice every game, it will give you an idea of whether you're hot or cold. If you are killing it in BP you can be more aggressive at the plate, including using power swings. If you're dribbling and popping everything play the plate more conservatively including using contact swings.

If you're playing Guess Pitch and you always guess high fastball and park it when you get it, expect to get fewer high fastballs. If you find that you always guess the same first pitch and you aren't seeing them as much, change it up because the pitcher probably has.
Got this over the weekend, and played the heck out of it. My boys and I each started our own RTTS. My 2nd baseman got drafted by Houston...looks like I have a long road in the minors in front of me.

Also I'm willing to deal with a lot, but the batmobile moving around like a cat and doing things that are literally physically impossible is a bit much.

Pretty easy to get traded if you pester your manager about it.

Just changed the Arkham settings from 'normal' to 'easy' and then died 9 more times.

I think my video game career may be coming to an end.

Sorry -- I moved on from this one a while back, but I'll definitely be getting Battlefront.

BF4 is a really good game IMO. It had all kinds of technical problems at launch, but even then it was still pretty awesome. It got a lot better after a few patches.

Sweet. We will have a lot fun playing Battlefront! Look forward to squading up with you and Kilgore again. We had some crazy runs on BF2 back in the day.

I played BF4 last night at my Brother-Law's house and was like...holly #### I need to play this again! I have not touched a Battlefield game since BF2 on PS3.

I've asked for a trade everytime I get the option, and they kept delaying me. I've asked for a position change, and they've shot me down for that too.

I'm only in June of my first season, I don't know how long it actually takes for this stuff to start happening.

I feel like Kennys Vargas playing this game. I'm a moster at the plate until they throw me a slider or change.

How far along are you in the game? Timing is absolutely critical for combat since it allows you to chain attacks and use special combos. You will get destroyed if you button mash.

So Star Wars Battlefront and Fallout 4 come out within a week of each other? And it's during my busy part of they year? FML

I've been itching for a multi player shooter and Star Wars sounds great but if you're not in these games when they launch you're pretty much ####ed. On the other hands, I've bought every Fallout on release day except for Tactics. It's by far my favorite franchise.

No way I can do both.

I'm right there with you. I just don't understand the hype that is placed on it.

It was a solid game, worth playing, but there was nothing special about it. it wouldn't even crack my top 100 games of all time.

I hear you on shooters -- if I don't get in at launch, I feel like I'm constantly behind the eight-ball. Generally if I miss launch day, I'm going to skip it for good. Fallout 4 can wait, at least for me. It's not going anywhere and it will be just as awesome if I put it off for a couple of months.

Not far. I'm where he tosses the prisoner in the batmobile and then the Arkham knight and the tanks show up. I can't beat his copter.

Zoom in before you shoot. Use your 60mm canon. And those battles are the hardest part of the game IMO. HATE HATE being forced into the car for fighting.

Thanks. Just tried it 3 more times and got smoked. Is there a way to go do another mission? This sucks. Edit: it's such a tease. There's this great giant open world game sitting there you want to play but you're being forced into the batmobile.

I feel the same as both of you. However, I'll put off Battlefront until later and start off with Fallout. Given DICE's history of ####ting the bed at launch, this will give them time to patch things up before I jump in there.
