Video games...what ya playing? And what are you looking forward to? (5 Viewers)

Anyone play divinity original sin: enhanced edition on ps4 or xb1? Looks good.
If a family member doesn't send it my way this holiday season I'll be picking it up. Been aching for a couch co-op true RPG and had Oct 27th marked on my calendar.

Also interested in reviews.

Same here. It has a more d&d type system going on with its turn based RPGness but with a Diablo overhead view that I am a sucker for.

The "more R&D type system" is why I'm so excited. I liked Diablo fine, but the whole button mashing action RPG is not my thing. I play Dragon Age in the tactical view like 80% or more of my battles.

Sounds like we have some very similar tastes in rpgs.

Agreed.

Also just noticed my phone corrected d&d to R&D lol.

need a refresher: you put in the disc then it allows you to download a backwards compatible version of the game? Can you get rid of the disc at that point?

Need another hard drive me thinks.

No.

"When the New Xbox One Experience dashboard update arrives on November 12, you'll find a tab that shows all your backwards-compatible Xbox 360 titles that you downloaded digitally. To play physical games, however, you'll need to put the disc in the drive every time you want to play."

Missed that. Thank you.

So is Mass Effect 3 DLC Omega worth it? Its on sale 50% off right now and I have most everything else and am going to soon start the game for the first time.

Citadel is essential (IMO).

Omega & Leviathan are not essential but they're fun and if you're a loot whore like me then you'll want to play them.

Not essential but so worth it. It's like a 4 hour side mission with Aria as your main partner.

Leviathan might be the most essential from a plot perspective even though it's probably the most boring of the DLC.

Played Episode 1 of Tales from the Borderlands last night. I enjoyed it.
I have been playing this essentially coop with my girlfriend and it is in my GotY running. Actually, it is the game that pops into my head first when I think about everything that has come out this year. So damn funny and love the story and character dynamics. Great for non Borderland fans too.

My son was enthralled watching while I played

So shouldn't there be some big, big XBox One/PS4 sales coming up around this time of year? Is there a good source for compiling data on current, or upcoming, deals?

I did almost edit my post to reflect the fact that Leviathan does give a good amount of backstory on the Reapers.

Did you finish the main story?

Here's the endings I got, when I checked out the alternatives, I'm pretty happy.

Spoiler
The ending I got:

1. Ciri died, or at least never to be seen again.

2. Killed Dijsktra and got the vassal kindgom. Cerys ruled Skellige.

3. No idea. In my ending Geralt went nuts, killed the witch and then waited for his death.

So pretty much the Leaving Las Vegas ending. I really didn't realize it was possible to fail so badly, but I managed it. :P

Liked the game. Geralt is kind of a ####, so not too unhappy with the ending. I do have some issues with the decision points that counted toward the ending, particularly the one about
getting paid by returning Ciri. They're ####### witchers whose creed it is to get paid for their jobs. Why they went sappy for this part I have no idea, but it was a dumb decision point.
A couple of the other decision points were pretty pointless and crammed into senseless spots. I liked the political intrigue part, though - that part made sense and I liked how I ended that. I'm not going back on this, so my last impression of Geralt will be akin to Nic Cage in the movie mentioned.

Time for Fallout.

I finished up Witcher last night.

I enjoyed it. Good immersive story and world.

They could have made combat a little more sophisticated (maybe go even more towards Dark Souls), but it was fun.

Time for Fallout.

Yeah the decisions that affect the ending are not at all obvious. I'm looking forward to a second play through afer all the DLC comes out.

I'm about to finish up Uncharted 2 and before I dive into U3 or the new Tomb Raider I think I'm going to test my mettle with Until Dawn.

Anyone played it?

I haven't played it, but I've heard it's a lot like "Heavy Rain" and "Beyond: Two Souls" in that there's a lot of story and you have to do weird control gestures to do simple things.

On the plus side, I have heard that there are some scary parts.

I thought it was awesome. Beautiful game, you are not going to get the action game play, but if you are a fan of '80s campy horror you will enjoy it. I jumped a few times. Plus your choices will affect the outcome.

And while everyone is playing Fallout 4, I'm enjoying the new Tomb Raider. It has improved on the last one, and added more. Loving it.

UD is such a love/hate for me. Almost like a game that fell short of its potential.

Read it's only about 15 hours of gameplay though, not sure that's worth the 60 bucks.
It is to the type of gamer that thinks 15 hours of gameplay is enough when the other 385 hours of gameplay in a 400 hour open world game consists of wandering wastelands looking for flowers, arranging said flowers attractively on the table of the cottage you just built, and tending to your free range chickens wandering in your front yard.

I played the last one and it was more than 15 hours and it wasn't 60 bucks. Just finishing up AC Syndicate, took ~40 hours or so and was worth the 60. At 15 hours it wouldn't have been.

:lmao: So true.

I played the heck out of Skyrim, enjoyed FO3 and am looking forward to FO4 but I will take a well told, story driven RPG over a massive open world step-n-fetch game every time.

for the guys who have played Skyrim...is there any reason to do Alchemy? I mean, do you ever get to create anything that is really useful? I've already decided I'm not going to cook ####, so I don't have to carry any food around. you usually find plenty of potions & poisons in the world, so if I don't have to worry about ingredients either, it will save a lot of carrying space & effort to find things.

It's useful for leveling up but I never put perk points into the Alchemy tree.

I am a master alchemist and of destruction magic.

It was a great source of income for me being able to create high level poisons and potions and selling them. Also I never ever have to buy any potions. I just whip them up. It's a fun skill if you like that sort of thing. Being a Mage as well as using a bow, dagger and short sword I also use a lot of poisons on my tips to add extra damage in a variety of ways (stamina, magika regen etc).

I used to to boost blacksmithing and enchanting when making weapons and armor, allows you to make stronger stuff.
